Crash!

Ruby jumps in surprised and gasps to see the broken photo frame. She kneels down and carefully wiping the glass to avoid cutting. Picking up the picture of her, Artemis, Zara and Aaliyah are hugging each other with soft smiles.

"Ruby? I heard something crash." Dick comes out of their bedroom wearing nothing but a towel around his waist.

"The photo just fell off by itself." Ruby answered and brushing off the glass to clean the floor. "Somehow... I feel uneasy." Standing up to put the broken glass away.

"You're not sick are you?" He asks worriedly since it's unusual for her to get sick. "Shall we call Kurama to check you?"

"No." She shook her head and smiling softly at him. "This feeling like a bad thing is going to happen. Especially this picture fell off..."

Dick comforts his fiancée with an understanding look. She always worried for the others before herself. "Hey, nothing bad is going to happen okay? They're strong to defend themselves." He kissed her temple.

"I know..." She closes her eyes and hugs him. "I don't want the history to repeat itself."

"It won't." He reassures Ruby and staring at her emerald eyes. "Artemis and Wally are babysitting our Orion. Why don't you join me for a shower?"

Ruby blushed furiously and pushing him away. "I already had one and control yourself, Dick!"

Dick pouts and crossing his arms. "Orion took you away from me."

Ruby stares at him with a disbelief look on her face. "Are you jealous because I have all his attention? Dick, he's our baby."

"I want mommy and daddy time." Dick steps forward and she steps backward. "Oh? Could it be... you're embarrassed to see me naked?" He smirked deviously.

Ruby gulps nervously and her back hits on the wall. She's completely trapped and squeals as he slams his hands on the wall. "I-I-I-" Her whole body is completely red and faint in his arms.

Dick chuckled in amusement and carrying Ruby in his arms. "It seems like you have a lot to learn, young maiden."

Mount Justice || March 19 11:42 EDT ||

"They're both gonna wind up our responsibility, aren't they?" Mal asked Nightwing curiously.

Mal, Zara and Conner are watching the hologram screen of Bart and the original Roy. Green Arrow seeks Ruby's help to check his condition and went to Star City to check his health condition. The scarlet-haired girl is not a professional Doctor but only Kurama.

"Bart, Impulse, is staying with Jay and Joan Garrick in Central City." Nightwing answered and looking at the screen. "Roy, the original Speedy... is recuperating at Royal Memorial Hospital in Star City. Ruby is checking him as we speak together with Green Arrow and Red Arrow."

"I'm surprised you let Ruby go to the Star City while Wally is babysitting Orion." Zara commented and crossing her arms.

"Kurama is one of the best healers we have and Ruby can assist him." Nightwing answered and the blonde mage hums in agreement.

"Mm-hm. They're both gonna wind up our responsibility." Mal commented and Zara sighs heavily.

"Aren't you the ray of sunshine, Mal?" Zara asked sarcastically and Mal playfully glared at her.

"Doesn't everything?" Conner asked Mal. "Where are we on identifying the Light's new partner?"

Nightwing sighs heavily and pinching the bridge of his nose. "No progress."

They hear a feminine laugh and Zara pursed her lips. "Hahaha. La'gaan, don't eat so fast." M'gann scolded her boyfriend.

"I can't help it, Angelfish." La'gaan commented while munching the cookies. "The idea of cooking crabs is amazing enough. But making them into little cakes?"

"Well, you're gonna choke." M'gann warned him.

"If only." Conner muttered bitterly and Zara puffs her cheek.

"Let me." M'gann feeds La'gaan.

"Mm... if that's not true love, I don't know what is, chum." La'gaan commented with a smug look on his face while looking at Conner.

Zara decided to intervene before Conner bites his head off. "Wow, it seems like you're completely overconfident to defeat me for our training, fish head." She commented with a smirk. "Don't blame me when you get sick after I flip you off."

"You little bit-" La'gaan was cut off by the AI

"Recognized: Artemis, B-0-7." Artemis showed up and looking at the Team.

"Chinamini dōitashimashite. (You're welcome by the way)" Zara whispered and Conner smiled lightly at her. "My favorite female archer!" She squeals and walking towards her.

"Zara! Look at you!" Artemis didn't hesitate to hug the blonde mage. "You're getting more pretty and haven't seen you a while."

"I was kidnapped by Nightwing and Arthur vice versa because they need me." Zara answered bluntly. "How's our Speedy Gonzales? He's still our adorable bottomless ginger head?" She asked sarcastically.

"Still the same and you need to visit us more often, Zar." Artemis scolded her with an amused smile. "The last time we see you is Orion's birth."

"Talk to my manager to give me an off."

She chuckled and shook her head. "You still have that sense of humor."

M'gann giggled and patted Zara's head. "She's our sassy girl." The Martian girl commented as they laugh.

Mal approached them to greet Artemis. "Welcome back, girl."

"Hey, Mal." Artemis greeted him.

"We have so missed you around here." Conner joined them.

"Conner!" She smiles and looking at him before glancing at Zara. "Still looking after our Zara?"

"She's not that handful." Conner commented and Zara glares at them both.

La'gaan placed his hand on M'gann's shoulder to greet the female archer. "I relish this opportunity to finally fight beside you, archer." He greeted Artemis in a formal tone.

Zara facepalms herself at La'gaan's stupidity makes Artemis creep out a bit. "Um... thanks, La'gaan." Artemis thanked the Atlantean and smiles lightly.

Nightwing clears his throat. "Okay, Gamma Squad, listen up." He's started to brief the team. "The mission is Cape Canaveral. Covert up to safeguard the first Earth-Mars Comsat. There are people out there who don't even like the idea of aliens... and will do anything to scrub this launch."

Artemis noticed M'gann's sad look. "But that's why I came back, because not all of us feel that way. Take Zara for example."

"I'm not an alien thank you very much." Zara commented sarcastically. "I'm just a girl who lives in a different dimension called Earthland."

"So why are you going?" Mal asked Nightwing curiously.

Nightwing smiles softly. "Let's just say that after running this Team for a year... I'm peckish for a little action." Pulling his gloves and sighing softly. "If only my young maiden is here."

Zara snorts and shook her head. "Wimp. No wonder why she left for the Star City because of you." The blonde mage commented sarcastically.

Nightwing glares at her softly. "They need her and Kurama."

"Translation, staying far away from you because she couldn't stand seeing you while Wally is babysitting Orion." Artemis gives Zara a high-five and they giggled.

Nightwing's shoulder slump and starting to regret joining the mission with Zara.

Cape Canaveral || March 19 20:59 EDT ||

Luminous is all by herself to check the perimeter and sighing softly. She grips her blue teardrop necklace inside of her costume. She's longing for Kitsune to get back and Aqualad stayed with them.

"Luminous, how's your searching? Any hot guys you spotted?" Artemis asked sarcastically to the blonde mage.

"Only the beautiful sunset and you have Wally." Luminous retorted back.

"I do but I'm hoping you might have a lover by now." She loves to push Luminous when it comes to her zero romantic life.

"Yeah. Me, myself and I." Luminous smirked and silently gasps in surprise to sense a familiar dark presence.

"Jeez. No wonder you never get yourself a boyfriend, walking bulb." Lagoon Boy commented and froze. "Whoa, heads up, minnows. We got bad guys. Black Manta's troopers. Working some kind of platform beneath the surface just offshore."

"They're not the only ones." Luminous warned them and exhales softly. "Eris as well."

"I didn't see them, Luminous. I'm taking them down." Lagoon Boy pointed out bluntly and trying to find the two dark rogue mages.

"That's because you don't have life presence sense like I do." Luminous retorted back. "You can't barge in by yourself Lagoon Boy!"

"Luminous is right. Wait for backup." Nightwing ordered the Atlantean.

"I'll scrounge a rebreather from the cargo hold and help the rookie out." Superboy suggested and Luminous cringed at his poor words to anger Lagoon Boy.

"Rookie? Neptune's beard. I don't need any help from the Boy of Steel." Lagoon Boy snapped back angrily.

"Oi, Lagoon Boy stand down and don't do anything!" Luminous scolded the Atlantean.

"Sorry, you're breaking up." Lagoon Boy makes a weird sound and it anger Luminous and Nightwing.

"There's no static on a psychic link." Nightwing gritted his teeth angrily.

"Kami (God) he's completely jealous because of Superboy." Luminous muttered under her breath angrily. "Why did she pick him of all people- I mean, Atlantean?"

"Luminous join us now." Nightwing ordered the blonde mage. "We need you."

"Aye, sir!" Luminous answered and her whole body glowed. "Raitobāsuto! (Light burst!)" She flies and attacked each one of them.

"Luminous, we kinda need more light to blind the troops." Artemis commented and Luminous pursed her lips.

"I starting to hate glowing stick more." Luminous muttered angrily and glowed brighter to blind the enemies. "Now!"

"Mizu kaminoikari! (Water God's rage!)" Luminous cried out in pain by the hot water all over her body with a dark aura.

Crashing roughly on the sand and groaning in pain. Her breath shakes and glaring at the culprit. "Eris..."

"Long time no see, kitty cat." Eris greeted Luminous casually as if nothing happens. "Ready for round two?"

Luminous stands up and glaring at her coldly. "You finally showed up." Her hand glowed to reveal a light sword.

Eris simply smirked and summons her sword to clash against Luminous. The dark-lilac-purple-haired girl is itching for stronger opponents like her or Celestial and she wouldn't forget her main mission.

Artemis and Nightwing manage to defeat all the troops. However, someone joins in from the surface to reveal their former teammates, Kaldur. Both heroes notice Luminous is busy clashing against Eris as they're dealing with Kaldur.

"My, my... you're getting more improve than before, kitty cat." Eris complimented her sword skills. "You're also too late to save your precious! Suijin no tsunami! (Water God's tsunami!)" Blowing her mouth and water comes out to hit her.

"Hikari ga hansha shimasu! (Light's reflect!)" Creating a shield and gasping in shock to watch the scene unfold.

Kaldur stab Artemis right in front of them. Nightwing catches Artemis before she falls and Luminous froze in shock. The dark-lilac-haired girl simply smirked and walking towards Kaldur. "Here I thought you're hesitating to kill your own former allies. Impressive." Eris congratulated him.

It snapped Luminous and screaming in anger. "MURDERER!" Her whole body glowed like a light beam heading towards them.

Eris sighs in disappointment and clicking her tongue. "She's blinded in hatred. Suijin no tate (Water God's shield)" Creating a shield to protect them from the light.

"Move out. The mission is failure." Kaldur commanded them.

Eris hums in amusement to see the rocket ship is completely destroyed. "Huh... would you look at that. It destroyed and didn't see any missile. You made a backup for this?" She asked Kaldur curiously.

He didn't answer her question but walk away together with the troops. Eris simply smirked in response before glancing at Luminous. The blonde mage is staying at Nightwing's side to revive Artemis. It's pointless to do CPR since Kaldur stabbed Artemis through her heart not drowning.

"Artemis..." Luminous whimpered and crying out her name while Nightwing still doing CPR.

Miss Martian and Superboy are joining them as they froze in shock. The clone gulps nervously and didn't hear Artemis heartbeat. "I don't hear her heartbeat. Lu?" He asked Luminous.

"No. I can't feel her presence anymore." Luminous answered and choke by her own tears. "It's all my fault." Superboy kneels down and hugging the poor girl while she repeats the same phrases.

"28,29,30..." Nightwing counts and doing chess compression before blowing air on Artemis mouth. Leaning his chin close to Artemis's breathing but no response at all. "She's dead." He declared in a defeated tone.

"ARTEMIS!" Luminous cried out her name at the top of her lungs.

Mount Justice || March 20, 03:58 EDT ||

Arthur is comforting his two sisters as they're crying and mourning Artemis's death. He couldn't believe his old friend would kill his own friend if it means fighting them. The brunette is trying to be strong and holding them tight.

"It's all my fault Artemis died." Zara whimpered and Arthur squeezes her shoulder. "If I wasn't too focused on Eris... this wo-wo-wouldn't happen."

Ruby sniffs and wiping her tears. "It wasn't your fault, Zar." She whispered in a hushed tone. "Nightwing and Artemis can't handle Eris because she's strong. You're the only one who can stop her."

"Still... I-I-I failed." Zara cried more.

"You didn't, Zara." Arthur whispered and hugging them tightly. "Kaldur has gone too far to kill Artemis and capture La'gaan."

"I want Aaliyah..." She sniffs and covering her eyes. "I want to see mama again."

It broke their heart to see Zara as a broken girl once again. Zara is too attached to Aaliyah and Artemis than any of them. The blonde mage loses someone she loves again.

Blüdhaven || March 20 04:00 EDT ||

While everyone are mourning Artemis's death in Mount Justice. Nightwing is alone in an abandoned building. He watches the hologram picture of him and Artemis back when they were Gotham students.

"We'll laugh about this someday." He quoted the same phrase before and sighs softly. Hearing a loud thump and shutting the hologram off. "Wally?" In a hushed tone.

"No." Nightwing's shoulder begins to tense to hear Kaldur's voice.

Another person to show up to reveal Wally. Kaldur is facing his two old friends while they hear another footstep. The person showed up wearing their blue hood up, lowering it down to reveal Artemis. She's alive and breathing right in front of them.

"I take it our ruse was successful?" Kaldur asked them curiously.

Kaldur never betrays them from the very beginning. A few years ago he'd done deep undercover to join his father and find out the members of the Light and an unknown partner. It was before Aaliyah has gone comatose and it pains him for not protecting her. Aaliyah is everything to him and her prognosis is still the same.

Nightwing created a second plan to fake Artemis's death and allowing her to help Kaldur with the undercover mission. It's only him, Kaldur, Wally and Artemis who knew this secret mission to infiltrate the Light without letting the League and Team notice. It pains him for keeping this secret to Ruby despite their promise not to hide anything behind their back. It's the only way to keep her and their son safe.

"Almost too successful." Nightwing commented with a grim look on his face. "The Team and the League are in mourning. They may never forgive us."

"And still only we four know the secret? What about Arthur?" Kaldur asked them curiously.

"Arthur has a lot of problems going on." He answered truthfully. "I don't want him to add another problem. This secret and the other, that you've been under deep cover... within Black Manta's organization since leaving the Team. How'd it go on that end?"

"Succesful as well." He answered. "I've proven my loyalty to my biological father. He's moving me up the ladder, bringing me closer to the Light... and their unknown partner."

"Not without cost, Kaldur." He reminded him. "The Comsat wasn't supposed to be destroyed. And La'gaan definitely wasn't supposed to be captured."

"It was the only way to save his life and maintain my cover." He looks down on the floor sadly.

"I'm not blaming you." Nightwing comforted his friend. "I know you've been forced to make impossible decisions. Like choosing between saving the Kroloteans on Maline Island..."

"Or saving my friends. And I will find a way to help La'gaan. You have my word." He vowed to save La'gaan from their grasps.

"So what now?" Artemis asked curiously while gripping Wally's hand tight.

Nightwing grabs the necklace and putting it on Artemis's neck. Wally is looking at him with a skeptical look on his face. "Uh, dude, why are you giving bling to my dead girlfriend?"

"Glamour charm. Courtesy of Arthur." Nightwing answered while holding his chin. "Physio-morphic spell, I think. He said it backward and added another spell to prevent Zara or Ruby's spirits from sensing her."

"Zara's power is growing strong despite Eris stripped her other kin." Kaldur commented. He didn't forgive her for destroying Zara's other half and sending Aaliyah to comatose. "Does Arthur know about this?"

"He's up to something and didn't want to get involve." He shrugged his shoulders. Arthur is still a mysterious type of person until now and it scares him. Whether Arthur knows their secret or not, he didn't want to get involved.

"Wow, you look exactly the same." Wally pointed out bluntly.

"To the four of us and only us." Nightwing corrected him. "But to anyone else, you're an entirely different person."

"The impressive trick is how you got something so specific from Arthur." Artemis goes in a deep tone but reverting back to normal. "Without revealing who or what it was for."

"We're talking about Arthur here." Nightwing sighs heavily. "He's more unpredictable and I have a feeling he knows it but remained silent." He explained.

"He still has the mystery vibe in him huh?" Wally asked and shivered in fear. "Man, we're lucky to have him not the other way around."

Kaldur simply smiled before he shook his head. "It's time." He reminded Artemis before looking at Nightwing. "May I see your son, Nightwing?"

"I'm seeing a male version of Ruby but has my eyes." Nightwing showed him the hologram picture of them with their smile. "He's only fussy of hungry and tired."

"Aaliyah?" He asked and Nightwing shook his head. "Her condition is still the same."

"That's one of the reasons why Arthur is busy protecting your girl, Kaldur." Nightwing explained in a soft tone. "Lust, Eris and the unknown dark mage are out there to take them down. That's why we lied to everyone Aaliyah is dead."

"Protect her and please..." Kaldur exhales softly. "She's everything to me."

"Will let you know if there are any changes." Nightwing assured the Atlantean.

Salem || March 21 20:00 EDT ||

Arthur sighs softly before looking at Ruby, Zara and finally at Eris. The brunette smiles softly at Eris. "I'm glad you manage to have a bit of time for us, Aaliyah."

The dark-lilac-purple-haired girl smiles softly before her appearance change. Her hair color revealed blonde and cerulean eyes. Hair tied in a french braid with a white headband armor. Her outfit is consists of golden armor, a blue cape, white leather boots, and a white skirt.

"Magnus forced me to find my fake comatose body and assuming it's around this area." Aaliyah explained while crossing her arms. "Why a crazy psycho like him is attracted to me? I'm taken and I don't know this guy personally!"

Aaliyah did an undercover mission to find out the last dark mage and an acquaintance with Lust. It happened to be Magnus, the son of the former guild master of Phantom Lord, Master Jose.

Magnus created a plan to transplant an anima from Earthland and Earth to merge together as one. He wanted Aaliyah to be his Queen much of her annoyance and preferred to do something else. Magnus's goal is to merge two worlds together as one and wanted to rule the world. He's the Light as a tool in order to achieve his dreams.

Mavis chooses them because they're the only ones who can stop Magnus from merging and bring their world safe. Magnus used a spell to travel from a different dimension and happen to stumble here in this world. He noticed there are few sorcerers and their powers are different from them. However, Magnus identified they're not the only ones here on Earth but including Fairy Tail mages as well. It makes him happy and thrilled to find out his beloved Aaliyah is here.

"The better question is- who is he exactly?" Arthur asked Aaliyah curiously. "You're a former Ten Wizard Saints."

"He's the son of Jose, the former Guild Master of Phantom Lord." Aaliyah answered and crossing her arms. "A few years ago, they have a quest from Lucy's father to take her back home. It's against the law to fight someone from another guild who isn't categorized as a dark guild."

"How did you know he's Jose's son?" Zara asked the blonde girl curiously.

"Lahar-san informed me and I didn't meet him personally." Aaliyah answered truthfully. "Since I was involved in that incident. I had to check every piece of information."

"Do you know his magic, Aaliyah?" Ruby asked the blonde girl curiously. "We barely know this guy."

"He has dark fae magic." She pursed her lips with a serious look on her face. "He's stronger than Jose and I've seen how he tortured Lust for killing me."

"He also hurt his own comrades?" Arthur asked with a disbelief look on his face. "That's ridiculous! We may hate Lust but she doesn't deserve it."

Zara feels sorry for Lust despite she's their enemy. "What now?"

"Still the same and we need to swap places, Zar." Arthur answered and Zara is looking at him worriedly. "Your life is in danger because Kaldur is going to infiltrate Mount Justice."

"What?" Ruby asked with a disbelief look on his face. "He's going to bring them and then what?"

Arthur sighs heavily. "Kaldur has evidence against them and the only way to deliver is to sacrifice our HQ."

Aaliyah frowned and feels worried about their suicide undercover mission. They know the others have their own mission to infiltrate Light and bringing League innocence from their crimes. Arthur never mentions this to anyone apart from them of his secret ability. He has the ability to see the past, present and future just like his brother Caleb. The brunette is always careful of his strategy and ensuring nothing bad happens to them.

"Nightwing is going too far for this." Aaliyah commented and crossing her arms. "Whatever happens, look after each other."

The three of them nodded their head. Aaliyah is struggling to keep up her undercover but she has no choice but to do it. The older blonde girl needs more time to gather evidence against Magnus and finding the anima's location to destroy it. Earthland and Earth are their home as they're willing to do everything to stop it from merging.
