Chapter 30
***Serena's POV
Someone knocks on the door.
"Serena? Are you there?" A female voice asks.
"Yes," I say, walking towards the door.
The door flies open, and in comes a girl in a black mini dress. She's wearing a white beanie and has blue hair. She has a serious look on her face.
"I'm Platinum, and welcome to one of my many mansions. Now, I want you to join in taking a dip in the pool," she says, smiling.
I really don't want to go. Going swimming at a time like this just seems wrong.
"You need to get your Pokemon healed. The medical equipment for Pokemon is in the basement. You might as well enjoy yourself while you wait for your Pokemon to be back in tip top shape," Platinum says, grabbing my arm.
I sigh.
"Fine, let's go."
She pulls me out into the hallway.
"Wait, what about May?"
Platinum frowns.
"I tried opening the door, and it was locked. I was going to unlock it, but I could hear sniffling coming from inside, so I just slid a note under her door instead," she whispers.
"Then she needs someone to comfort her," I say, as I walk towards May's room.
"We both know who she wants to comfort her," Platinum says.
I stop where I am.
May is dramatized after watching what Ash did. Maybe she wants him to explain everything.
Ugh.
This whole thing is frustrating.
"She needs time to recover on her own. She eventually come out. She'll get hungry," Platinum says, as she starts walking down the hall. I follow hesitately.
...
I walk out of the dressing room. I'm wearing pink bathrobe with my bathing suit under it. I walk over to the bunch of tanning chairs, next to Platinum.
She's wearing a white bikini, with her blue hair in a ponytail. She's laying on one of the beach chairs, as if she was sun bathing.
"Serena, you ok?" She asks.
"Yeah, why?"
"You seem, distant. Conserved. Dazed. Out of it. Why?"
"I just don't feel comfortable being here," I say, sitting in the chair next to her.
She looks at me, then sits up.
"I'm not really sure what happened on your journey so far, but I do know this: being so serious all the time is not good for you. You have to lighten up and have fun! I know you guys went dancing, so why can't you come swim?" She says.
I look towards the pool.
Gold and Crystal are splashing each other in the pool.
Ruby and Sapphire come out of the suana, and see to be arguing with each other.
Silver sits in the corner by himself, on a tablet, with headphones covering his ears.
Walking towards us is a man with long blonde hair, wearing orange swimming shorts.
"Pearl, what are you doing here?" Platinum asks.
"Well, Dia saw that we almost burnt dinner, so he kicked Gold and I out, so I came down here, knowing I'll find you here," he says, bowing and reaching his hand out.
"May I take you out to swim, my lady?" He asks.
Platinum grins, and allows him to take her hand.
"Of course," she says, getting up.
I watch as they walk towards the pool. Pearl looks back at me, and raised his eyebrows as he grins at me.
Uh oh.
Once they reach the end of the pool, Pearl reaches down for Platinum's legs and picks her up bridal style.
"What are you doing?" She yells, frailing her arms and legs out in an attempt to hit Pearl.
"Making sure that you cool down," he says, as he tosses her into the pool. Water sparkles in the air as it goes up, and comes back down.
"Nice one dude!" Gold yells.
"Don't get any ideas!" Crystal says, dunking Gold into the water. Gold somehow manages to pull her in as well. Then they break the surface, with Crystal on Gold's shoulders.
"Pearl! Platinum! Let's have a Pidgey fight!" Gold yells.
"You're on! Let's show them how it's done my lady!" Pearl yell as he cannon-balls into the pool.
"Let's go!" Platinum yells, as Pearl reamerages, lifting Platinum up.
I watch them fighting from my chair.
They're so cute.
I wish I could do that with Ash. I want us to be able to just enjoy each other's company, without a worry in the world.
"Why is it that every time I mention it, you always say the same thing?" Sapphire yells at Ruby, interupting my thoughts.
"Maybe because I sincerely don't remember at all!" Ruby yells.
He's wearing tan swimming shorts while Sapphire is wearing a green one piece bathing suit.
"I swear I'm going to choke the life out of you!" Sapphire yells, then hisses as she lashes out her, uh, fangs?
"Do it! I dare you!" Ruby yells.
Sapphire growls in frustration and walks away.
Once she's gone, Ruby lets out a sigh of relief and sits in the chair next to me. He looks at me with a smile.
"You probably think we're crazy, don't you?" He says.
"Uh, maybe just a little bit," I say, grinning.
"Heh. Well, see the thing is, when Hoenn was nearly destroyed by Kyroge and Gourdon, we realized that we were each other's childhood's crush. But after some stuff happened, she mentioned it to see if I remembered, and I acted like I didn't. And to this day, years later, she keeps mentioning it, and I keep denying it," Ruby explains. He pulls the beanie on his head down further.
I'm trying to resist the urge to fangirl over them.
"That's so cute!" I yell, squealing a bit.
Oops. Oh well.
"Yea, I guess it is," Ruby says, scratching the back of his head.
"You remember, and you find it cute! Why don't you tell her you remember?" I ask.
"Well, it's because we are very different people, without being so different. She started out being a princess, but is now an amazon warrior. I started out as a knight, but now I'm a powdered Prince Charming. We are complete opposites of each other. I'm just afraid we won't connect as well as we want to, and it'll ruin our friendship, causing us to lose what we have now," he says.
I smirk, and I cover my mouth hold back my laughing.
"What's so funny?"
"Don't you see? You guys already are connected! There's no reason for you guys not to connect if you two have been very close friends for a long time. You're both crazy, but you're crazy for each other! There's no good reason not to try, other than fear, along with regret. It's better to regret doing something then not doing anything at all," I say.
Ruby chuckles a bit.
"I guess you're right. I've been real silly. I need to go find her now. Thanks Serena. I hope everything works out for you, and however your love life may be," Ruby says, running in search of Sapphire.
"I hope so too," I say, as I look over to the two couples continue to Pidgey fight in the pool.
