Chapter 15: Unexpected Help From An Unexpected Source
"You have to be kidding me!" Jack yelled, running to a little house in his room. "Fu couldn't have picked worse timing."
Jack picked up the little house and looked inside, not seeing the small blonde haired figure inside. "No! Perri! Perri, where are you?"
The small pixie came out from Jack's small pile of socks. "Down here Jack."
Jack knelt down and picked up the small pixie, setting her on his desk. "How did you get down there?"
"You kinda threw me out of the house when you picked it up."
"Oh, oops. I'm sorry Periwinkle. Seriously."
"It's okay. Really. I know that it was an accident." Perri smiled. As quick as it came, that smile faltered as she saw Jack's face. "Is New York in trouble again?"
"No, not this time. Now, we have to take this international. We're going to Paris."
"How? I didn't think you had the money to fly there."
"I don't, by my cousin Nathanael lives there, and I haven't seen him in ages. I already convinced my parents that I needed to go there for a little family reunion, by myself."
"I may be the person who shouldn't exist, but you are the true magical being here Jack." Perri ran inside the house that Jack set down next to her and grabbed a small suitcase. "When are we leaving?"
"Car from the airport should be here in an hour." Jack grabbed his suitcase and started packing, grabbing his blue cuff and slipping it on.
"Oh no. You're putting on the cuff. What's going on Jack? Really, I need to know. You only put that on when something big is about to happen."
Jack sighed, looking at Perri. It was hard to believe that a little thing like her could take down robbers on a daily basis. "Paris is under attack by akumatized victims. Master Fu, the guy who gave you that small flower clip, called us to help defend Paris."
"Oh." Perri fell silent. She sat down, looking at the small postage stamp of the Eiffel Tower in her house. "Must be really urgent if they're asking for our help."
"Also very sudden." Jack agreed. He stuffed a notebook he bought for Nathanael in his suitcase. "Well, you wanna get bigger, or do you wanna stay small for a while?"
"I don't want your parents to buy two tickets instead of one. I'll get bigger once we touch down in Paris."
Jack nodded. He grabbed his backpack and stuffed a change of clothes, a book, and some food inside before he opened a secret pocket that only he and Perri knew about. "Well, hop in. We have a long flight ahead of us."
Meanwhile, in Paris...
"Why didn't you want me to know sooner?" Chat Noir asked Ladybug on the roof of the school.
"What?"
"Why didn't you want me to know who you were under the mask? Are you ashamed that I'm me or something?"
"What!? No, of course not. It's just, I'm ashamed of me. Under the mask, and a simple, foolish, clumsy girl. I'm no one special. You on the other hand, you're special. You're kind, friendly, happy, carefree. You're everything I'm not."
"Do you seriously think that?" Chat Noir asked. "Bug, you're everything I'm not. You're cute, brave, caring, calm, sarcastic, snarky, yes, maybe even a little clumsy, but that's one of your adorable quirks. It's one of the things I love about you, with and without the mask."
Ladybug chuckled. "You're lying."
"I'm not, I swear. I love basically everything about you. Now my question is, do you live the guy who messes up at basically everything his father forces him to do as much as the guy with the stupid cat puns?"
"Your puns aren't stupid." Ladybug whispered.
"What's that?"
"Your puns aren't stupid." Ladybug repeated, louder. "They're actually kinda funny."
"So is that a yes?"
"I'm not saying a thing."
"Well, can I take you out on a date?"
"Right now?" Ladybug asked, chuckling.
Chat Noir's eyes widened. "No, um, not right now, I meant when this is all over, God, I'm really messing this up!"
"No you aren't." Ladybug said, kissing Chat Noir's cheek. "I actually find it cute that someone besides me in being flustered."
"Really?"
"Yeah. And as for that date, I'll think about it."
Suddenly, a streak of pink and a streak of blue flew across the sky, side by side. The streak of pink seemed to spread glitter, because the next thing Ladybug knew, she was sneezing pink glitter onto Chat Noir's suit.
The two giggled at the pink on his suit.
"Well, duty calls, M'Lady."
"I know, sadly. Come on, let's go investigate that glitter." Ladybug broke down laughing. "Wow. That's something I never thought I would have to say in my life."
"Same."
And Chat Noir and Ladybug took off, following the trail of pink glitter in the sky.
When the trail stopped, they saw two figures, a blonde haired girl who could easily be Adrien sister, if he had one, and a red haired boy that looked kinda like Nathanael.
The blonde girl was covered in pink and had delicate pink wings sprouting out of her back. The boy looked like a wizard, carrying a star wand, wearing a wizard hat, along with a small start on the inside of his hand.
"Who are you two?" The boy asked Ladybug and Chat Noir.
"We could say the same about you since this is our city." Chat Noir hissed.
"Easy Kitty." Ladybug took a deep breath. "Hello. I'm Ladybug, and this is Chat Noir. We're Paris's two main defenders. We kinda got three more today, so things are a tad, what's the word I would use?"
"Hectic?" The girl asked.
"Yeah. That's it. Things are a little hectic right now."
"That's an understatement." The boy said. "Fu told us that Paris was under attack by akumatized people, whatever that means."
"You guys know Fu?" Chat Noir asked.
"Yeah, why?"
"No reason."
The girl stepped in front. "Nice to meet you both. I'm Pixie Girl, and this is Sorcerer."
"Nice to meet you both as well. I'm guessing you guys are here to help?"
"Yes ma'am." Pixie Girl did a salute.
Ladybug giggled. "Well then, we better get to work. Welcome to Paris."
