Chapter 11: The Fox and The Turtle
Percy POV
"Wake up guys. You have ten minutes until school starts." I yelled as Marinette and Adrien bolted.
"Why didn't you wake me up earlier!?" Marinette yelled, running upstairs.
"Alya told me not to!" I hollered back. Then I grabbed Adrien's clothes from my backpack and handed them to him. "I stole these from your house."
"Thanks!" Adrien ran to a bathroom and changed as Alya and Nino packed their breakfast.
"They owe us big time." Nino said, neatly writing Adrien's name on the bag.
"Why can't they just realize their feelings for each other!" Complained Alya, sloppily writing Marinette's name on her bag. "I mean, it's so obvious!"
"Hey, it took Annabeth three years after we met until she kissed me, then another year before I got the courage to ask her out. Give it time." I said, rolling my eyes slightly.
Alya sighed as Marinette ran down the stairs and Adrien came out of the bathroom, both grabbing their breakfast and running down the stairs to the bakery. "Well, they better figure it out soon, or Mama Alya is gonna force those two to start dating, whether they like it or not."
"Nino thinks that 'Mama Alya' should stop referring to herself in the third person." Nino said, shouldering his backpack. "Now we have to get to school before we turn into Marinette and Adrien, which, needless to say, is a very bad thing because they're always late."
"I'm coming, just hold on." Alya said as I walked downstairs.
"See you two lovebirds there!" I yelled.
"Hey!"
Third Person
As Alya and Nino exited the bakery, with Chloé and Sabrina helping Annabeth set up, Marinette freaking out since Annabeth "befriended the enemy", Adrien trying to calm her down, and Percy entering the school building, the duo bumped into a man wearing khaki shorts and a red and white beach shirt, making him drop the cookies he just bought from the Dupain-Cheng bakery and his cane.
"Oh my God." Alya said, bending down to pick up the cookies. "We are so sorry sir."
"Yeah. We're on our way to school, and we didn't see you." Nino picked up the cane as he explain it.
"No, it's fine. I'm as guilty as you two are." The man said, Alya and Nino helping him up and handing him back his belongings. He opened the box of cookies and held it out. "As payment for you two helping me."
"No payment necessary sir." Alya said, hearing the bell ring as Nino grabbed two cookies, one for him, and one for Alya. Alya grabbed Nino's wrist and dragged him along. "Now, we really must be going. Come on Nino, we don't want to turn into Marinette and Adrien."
Once they were gone, Wayzz flew out from the man's bag and sat in his open hand. "Is it time Master? Have you picked a successor?"
Master nodded. "Yes Wayzz, and I've also chosen the new holder of the fox miraculous."
Wayzz turned around to see Alya and Nino duck inside the school. "Those two? Plus that Bourgeois girl that saved that blonde girl?"
Master nodded again. "We will need all the heroes we can get for what's to come. And you know I'm too old to be doing this."
Wayzz, sad that he was once again reminded that he would have to leave the man that has used his miraculous for the past 118 or some years, he nodded. "I know master."
"I'll miss you Wayzz." Master whispered, afraid to talk.
"I'll miss you too." The two hugged in the middle of the street, knowing that this would be the very last time they would see each other.
