It was 16.47. Jess text me earlier to say we were meeting at 17.00. I don't know how she got my number, but it was that sense of confidence that attracted me to her.

As I was about to leave my mom called me into her.
'Noah?' Rolling my eyes, I walked into the kitchen. I knew exactly what she was going to say because she has said it before and one thing I knew for sure was I was not going to like it.
'Where are you going?'
'I'm going to meet Jess. She goes to my new school she is really nice and has a great sense of humour.' For a moment I just got infactuated with her. 'She offered to show me around seems as I don't know how to get anywhere other than school.'
'Oh Noah.' I saw it. That look on her face, the pitiful love of my mother. 'Don't forget why we're here!'
'How could I forget?' I snapped. 'I'm living with a disease that is killing me. You say we are her to get treatment, but we all know that I'm not going to see graduation; please just let me live whilst I still can.' A tear fell from my mothers eye which filled me with instant regret of my words yet I couldn't show my true feelings.
'It's not my fault you have Cancer Noah!' She always found a way to turn it back on her.
'I know. I never said it was' As I walked out of the house I heard my mother shout something about being back by 11, but I just carried on walking until I met Jess.
