chapter nineteen,
track meet fiasco

Winnie had been given the option to join Kitty and Q to this club but she felt out of place there. She now been spending her night organizing her dorm room that before felt empty.

    After a while it had become a boring task. She had the idea to go for a night walk since that was an outlet for her to clear her mind.

    Winnie put on a comfortable outfit along with her running shoes and left the dorm. She walked for about seven minutes before running into Min Ho and his dad.

"You went around my back just to protect her feelings." She heard Mr Moon yell. "I don't know why I thought you had what it takes to be a manager. I give you a chance to step up and impress me and instead, you threw it away for some loser who can't even sing."

"Don't talk to him like that." Winnie huffed, making an appearance next to Min Ho.

"This is a private conversation between father and son." Mr Moon held his hand up to her.

Winnie walked a little closer to him, "Well, you're a horrible father. Min Ho does have what it takes to be a manager, more than you with this tired Simon Cowell routine from 2002. For a man who claims to have his finger on the pulse you should know that bullying is so over, Mr Moon."

    "You certainly have a lot to say, don't you?" Mr Moon replied in a quieter tone than before.

    He walked away from the two leaving Min Ho in disbelief. He slowly turned to face Winnie, "I've never heard you speak like that.. Where did that come from?"

"I don't know." Winnie blinked.

"I've never had someone who'd stand up for me that way. Thank you." A smile slowly grew on Min Ho's lips.

    "Don't get all lovey dovey with me, Min Ho." Winnie brushed it off, afraid to blush at him. "I hope I didn't make things worse. I mean, I was a little mean."

Min Ho smiled at her, "Don't worry about it. In fact, I think you were impressed him."

"Really?" Winnie couldn't help but say.

"Yeah, I bet thinks you're a real badass now. I know I do." The way Min Ho said those words actually made Winnie believe what he was saying was real.

Winnie looks at his face all around. But, her eyes lastly landed on his lips. Without any hesitation she grabbed ahold of the back of his neck and pulled him into a kiss.

Min Ho was quick to kiss her back and had no intention to pull away from her lips.

It was the next day and Q's track meet. Winnie, Kitty and Dae stood in front of the bleachers. Kitty held a sign dedicated for Q.

    Winnnie looked around for Q not being able to find him while everyone behind them chanted for the school.

    "Kitty!" Yuri exclaimed as she and Juliana ran up to the three, "I just talked to my mom, and she apologized for being an overprotective weirdo, and she said if I want to come out publicly, she will support me."

    Kitty chuckled, "Oh my god, that's amazing."

    "It was Juliana's idea to call her." Juliana smiled.

    Juliana looked down, avoiding Kitty's gaze and stares at the ground.

    "I'm so happy for you." Kitty chuckled once again before pulling Yuri into a hug. "Congrats!"

    "Okay this is getting weird, where is Q?" Winnie spoke up, bringing up the situation again.

    "I have no idea but that's the guy he was all over last night at the club." Kitty pointed out.

    "Q ditched me for Jin?" Dae exclaimed. "But he's Q's rival, and he's a big jerk."

    "Yeah, well, it looks like Q might've gotten played." Kitty shakes her head along with Winnie and Dae.

    Alex begins to call out, "Runners, please take your marks for the 100-meter dash qualifying. The winner will represent KISS."

    "We have to do something!" Kitty declared in a hushed yell.

    "Take this." Kitty shoves the poster board into Dae's chest and runs over near Alex.

    She takes the microphone out from a boys hand, then quickly paced over onto the track before embarrassing herself.

    "We've got spirit, yes, we do. We've got spirit, how about you?" Kitty cheered into the microphone, making Winnie gasp and run over to the girl.

    "What are you doing?" Winnie pushed the microphone away from her face.

    "Girls! Get off the track!" Alex yelled at the two.

    "Fall with me!" Kitty desperately tugged at Winnie's arm as she pulled her down to the ground with her.

    The students from the bleachers were confused at not only Kitty's chant but what happened to the two girls. They watched as Kitty and Winnie laid on track ground.

"Winnie!"

Min Ho immediately stood up from his seat to run over to Winnie and Kitty. Stella joined him looking concerned, "Stella, get help."

Winnie couldn't help but let out a laugh as she saw Min Ho lean above them. She chuckled as Min Ho's worried expression faded as he realized what was happening.

"We're trying to cause a diversion, dummy." Kitty hissed as she opened her eyes.
