Yes, guys, Super Megaforce happened. It's just something you'll have to live with. New fans of the Power Rangers series loved this season. However... Yeah, it was met by universal hatred from the majority of long-time fans of the Power Rangers series. Super Megaforce was seen by several fans of the Power Rangers series as the epitome of "gross." It had a rushed story (probably due to it being a 20-episode season like Samurai, Super Samurai, and Megaforce), the series continuity was all over the place (kinda), and the dialogue was sub-par. For those of you who have said that, in my opinion, it's better than Operation Overdrive ever hoped to be (for any of you long-time Power Rangers fans reading this who haven't seen Operation Overdrive, don't watch it, but instead watch the more superior Super Sentai counterpart, GoGo Sentai Boukenger). And besides, I'm kind of biased to like it as despite the fact that I saw a few scenes from Power Rangers (not sure which season it was, and can't remember since I was still pretty young at the time), I had a Power Rangers Mystic Force play ball (I think I still have it somewhere in storage), and I saw an episode of Power Rangers Lost Galaxy on the defunct Saturday-morning children's anime television block, Vortexx on The CW, Super Megaforce is the season that fully got me into Power Rangers. Of course, that only lasted for several months. Then, in early 2018, I got back into it. I have a soft spot for this season. Do I think it was perfect? No, but the Megaforce Rangers got two Ranger modes: Super Megaforce Mode, with the suits giving off a pirate-esque feeling, and Legendary Ranger Mode, which gives the Rangers the ability to morph into past Rangers, which is AMAZING. Of course, there's also Squadron Mode, Prism Mode, Blitz Mode, and Supersonic Mode, described as the "New Powers," which I think are the red herrings of Legendary Ranger Mode. The New Powers look cool, but people were probably asking, "Why are they here?", one of these people including Jacob Brode (creator of the channel, Database Ranger's Power Reviews [link to channel at bottom of page]). When the New Powers came, it was much to extreme ire of Lewis Lovhaug, or at least his Atop the Fourth Wall character, Linkara (Lewis Lovhaug is the creator of the channel, Linkara-AtopTheFourthWall [link to channel at bottom of page]), and guess what he said about the New Powers (aka the Sentai footage of Ranger teams that were only seen in Super Sentai)? Here's what he said:

(quoting from "Power Rangers Megaforce, Part 3 - History of Power Rangers") But here's the most damning thing of all about this: I wouldn't even mind them using the Sentai footage like this... if they actually DID something with it. This is an opportunity, here: a glorious opportunity that allows them to save money by not having to edit out Sentai teams, while also expanding the mythology. We know that there have been other Power Ranger teams before Mighty Morphin', and we know there are Alien Rangers and other dimensions with it. You have Sentai-only teams in this? Ones that no Power Rangers fan has ever seen before? Well, do some world building! Give us a STORY behind these teams. Have a previously unknown Ranger meet our heroes and tell the story of a lost team of Power Rangers that nobody knows about. Have them say that, I don't know, their exploits were lost to history because of some great mind-wipe or catastrophe, so ultimately, their battle was useless and that made them bitter and not want anyone to be Rangers anymore. Or tell the same story to try to inspire the team, that even in spite of no one remembering them, it was still the right thing to do. Sure, the footage of an unused pre-Mighty Morphin' season isn't gonna look as good in HD, but there are ways around that. You can make it an in-story explanation like, the aspect ratio is wrong because these are computer monitors that have borders all around the footage the whole time, or, the recording equipment of the era was different, or, you could put a haze around it like it's from a dream. Hell, tell us about the FIRST Power Rangers. Give us an origin for the Morphing Grid!

And to that, I say, thank you, Linkara! You gave me an epic idea. I'll use your thoughts on what the staff members for Super Megaforce should have done for the season, and incorporate them into Dragon Ball: Chronos Patrol. BTW, my inspiration for my idea of the first Power Rangers team is the Super Sentai counterpart of Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers Season 2, which is called Gosei Sentai Dairanger, as well as some fanfics for Super Megaforce (I'll leave links to said fanfics down below, as well as links to other amazing Super Megaforce fanfics further down).
