After a tiring day at work I finally get home. A breath of relief leaves my lungs as I get out of my car. Maya and Stephanie are already home but I quickly walk back down the driveway to look at the front yard.

They started building our wall this week but at the moment they've only started laying the foundation for the wall. They've also lifted the pavement for the gate and it honestly looks shit. The garden is a mess and there are bricks laying on the sidewalk but I know this is just the start.

"Our poor grass, I know"

I turn around and see Maya walking out the garage with the twins on either side of her body, clinging onto her hands.

"What time did they leave this afternoon?" I ask as I stand up again and look at the mess in front of us.

"Are you really okay?" I ask again for  reassurance.

"He wasn't really happy about me stitching up a wound in the ER. That is not my job"

"Really?" She frowns. "But I asked for you before she even helped me?"

We both turn around to see Stephanie walking over to us with a concerned look.

"Hi honey" I smile and wait for her to get closer.

"Who got hurt now?" She frowns.

"Nobody got hurt" Maya sighs. "She got called in for helping me today"

"What?" Stephanie frowns and looks at me.

"Everything is fine" I smile and wrap my arms around her neck.

"Promise?" She whispers.

"I promise" I smile and give her a kiss.

"We didn't tell you because we just assumed something was up and we didn't want to cause any issues in the family."

I let out a relieving breath and I glance at Stephanie with a grateful look.

I'm sure Maya will come back to this conversation but for now she is too focused on Jamie.

"When did she find out she's pregnant?"

"About four weeks ago" she sighs. "But Lucas knows and apparently he's been staying at his parents house the last few weeks."

"I would also leave" Stephanie scoffs with a disbelieving chuckle.

"Yeah, so she doesn't know what's happening with him right now."

"And the other guy? Does he know about the baby?" I ask.

"No, she hasn't told him yet"

"Oh gosh" I groan and fall to my side.

"Does your parents know?" Stephanie shoots with a more serious question.

"Nope" she sighs. "She wants me to be there when she tells them"

"Well, that's not going to be a fun conversation" I slightly chuckle and sit up again.

"I know that's why I said we will all be there." She shrugs and stands up from the bed.

"What!" Stephanie and I say at the same time but she just laughs at us.

"You have to be there because of this" she smirks and flashes her ring at us. "You promised to be there for me on the good days and the bad days." She chuckles. "And that will be a bad day."

"It's not your bad day, it's Jamie's bad day" Stephanie laughs. "We didn't promise her anything."

"Yeah baby, that's not fair." I follow after Stephanie with an amusing chuckle.

Sometimes I like being on Stephanie's side of an argument because she usually does the talking for both of us. Her brain works a little different and faster in conversation. She always has something to say or ask and I just nod along.

"Well now it's my bad day too because I'm being a good sister." She says backing away to the closet.

"No" she cuts me off. "It's happening. End of discussion." She says and disappears into the closet.

"I think I'm actually working that day"

Stephanie turns to me with wide eyes and I start laughing.

"I'm very glad but my leg might go numb in about twenty seconds." I groan and try taking it out underneath her but she purposely presses down on it.
