Stephanie's POV

"Steph, no" she laughs a little nervously.

"I'm coming for you my darling."

"No!" She yells in a mumbled tone and then reaches out to punch me but I move a bit further away from her. "Stop bumping me off the road" she pouts and falls back into the corner of the couch.

Maya and I have been playing for a bit but I insisted to play this specific mode of the game because she hates losing.

And I've beaten her four times in a row now. She also won a few races but she's frustrated with me now. I deliberately run her car off the road and she hates that.

"Okay, okay. I'm sorry" I say in a gentle tone and move back to my original place next to her.

"I don't like this game" she sighs.

"Okay we can play something else" I smile and immediately exit the game. "What do you want to play?"

"Anything but I want to play on a team with you." She smiles. "Or you might have a black eye tomorrow."

"On my birthday?" I playfully gasp.

"Yes" she laughs. "I don't care"

"Not cool honey" I chuckle in amusement and go through the list of games, searching for something we can play together.

It takes a few minutes to agree on a game but before we start I lean over and grab her faces for multiple kisses. She didn't kiss me back at first but soon enough she gives me what I want.

Just as I pull back we hear Alex coming down the stairs and wait for her presence in the livingroom.

"Baby, she's cheating again" Maya whines beside me and I look at her with wide eyes.

"I was not-"

"I'll throw away those remotes" she says in a serious tone and this makes us both look back.

She is on her way to the kitchen but gives us both a warning look before she dissappears.

"See what you did now"

"I didn't do anything" she laughs. "You started it"

I just roll my eyes but it earns me a poke in the side which makes me groan with a slight chuckle.

"Stop it, you have to focus" I chuckle and then we both sit back into the couch.

The game we are playing now is a combat mission and we are on the same team. Maya and I are really good at this type of games which sometimes leaves us to play late into the night.

It doesn't happen a lot because Alex refuses to go to bed alone. She usually make herself comfortable in the other corner of the couch with something to read but some nights when she had a rough day, she would fall asleep.

And then we feel bad.

A few minutes later Alex comes around the couch with a bowl of popcorn which gets me excited but Maya and I immediately move away from each other as she goes to sit right between us.

"Are you still enjoying your birthday present honey?"

"What present?" I frown and glance at Alex.

"This fucking movie screen in front of us" she laughs as she chews on some popcorn.

"This is not my birthday present" I frown. "Wait" my faces falls and I look at them. "Is this my present?"

"Yes, we are broke now" Alex laughs.

"We are not broke" I roll my eyes and they both laugh. "But seriously though, is this my only present?"

"No baby" Alex smiles. "I'll give you a nice orgasm when you wake up tomorrow morning." She winks.

"Me too" Maya smiles.

I sit back with a loud sigh and they both just laugh.

"We are actually supposed to get things ready for tomorrow" Alex chuckles and I feel her hand running over my thigh.

"Shhh baby" Maya whispers.

"You work so hard" I also say but Maya and I keep playing our mission. "You should rest."

"I might fall asleep."

"That's also okay" I smile and wrap my arm around her neck. I pull her head down to my shoulder and she laughs but also makes herself a little more comfortable. "See isn't this nice?"

"Not if you are going to keep moving like that" she laughs and holds my arm.

"I'll try my very best"

"Thank y-"

"Oh shit baby!" I yell and immediately sit forward when I see bullets flying my direction. I hear a soft "Ow" from Alex beside me and I quickly glance at her "Sorry baby" I apologize.

"Where are you?" Maya asks and I can see she is desperately trying to see where I am on the map.

"They are here up on the roof, I just jumped down to the second floor" I tell her and try to hide until she comes to find me.

As my character sits behind the door I quickly look at Alex and she is just casually eating some more popcorn. "Sorry baby" I say with a guilty smile.

"It's fine" she sighs. "I'm going to stand up anyway, I want to wash the kids' blankets"

"No, don't go" I object with my attention going back to the screen. "Okay, let's go up the stairs" I say to Maya and she follows me.

"I can also do it babe" Maya offers.

"No it's fine, don't worry" she says and then she stands up.

I watch her leave but my heart rate picks up when I see one of our enemies around a corner and we open fire on him. "Fucking asshole"

Maya and I are a great team when it comes to this game. We've developed a certain dynamic the more we played and it's only on rear occasions that we don't win. She is a very good sniper and I'm very good with going straight into the fire zone. I have absolutely no mercy, especially when I have one of my wives with me.

After a while and multiple victories under our belt, we both agree to stop playing for a bit. Maya also really had to use the bathroom but as I look at the clock I see we've been playing for quite a while.

I walk to the kitchen in search of Alex but I come up short. I can see she has been busy in the kitchen with some things and I look through the kitchen window to see if she is by the outside lounge but she isn't there either. I walk to the patio door and just as I step outside I see her coming along the pavement with the laundry basket.

"Why didn't you wait for us to help you?"

"I have two hands" she smiles but I can see it's not a happy. "And it's not like I had anything better to do with my time" she says as she walks right past me and I feel the guilt wash over me.

She is definitely annoyed with us and I don't have the right to blame her for a sarcastic comment like that. We decided to take the kids to daycare to get a few things done but as I think about what she just said, I think she meant it like we could've spent some time doing things together and now I feel even worse.

I quickly walk into the house with no plan to fix this yet, but I have to try something. Before I step into the kitchen Maya comes towards me, looking at her watch. "Oh shit, we have to go get the kids" she says with a slight chuckle but I give her a warning look.

"Yes, we are going to get the kids right now" I say a bit louder as we walk into the kitchen.

Maya gives me a questionable look and I can hear Alex is busy with something in the washroom so I lean closer to Maya. "Alex is upset that we played until now"

"Fuck" she scrunches her nose and then glares at me. "I blame you for this"

"What-"

"I blame both of you"

We look up at Alex as she walks out into the kitchen and my heart stops for a few seconds. "We're sorry baby, we'll come help you when we get back." I say but I don't expect her to object to us going to pick up the kids, it is definitely implied that we will go pick them up.

"You are so beautiful!" Maya yells as a last resort just before she disappears from our sight and we wait a few seconds for her reply but it doesn't come, instead she comes back around the corner and pair of rolled up socks comes flying in our direction.

"Go get he kids!" she yells and turns back around.

"Oh shit"

"How did we lose track of time like that?" I ask and grab my car keys off the hook. "We were only supposed to play while she took a shower."

"We always lose track of time." She sighs. "She is usually the one to call on us when it's been too long."

"Well cleary not today" I sigh as well and we get into the car.

I back out of the driveway and we make our way down the street.

"Do you think buying her flowers will help?"

"There aren't enough flowers in the world" I softly laugh. "She is really mad at us."

"Fuck"

After a few minutes we arrive at the daycare and I get a little excited to see our kids. Maybe Alex will also get distracted about seeing them and she will forgive and forget about us ruining our quality time.

As we step through the door their teacher is already waiting for us by their classroom door. There are a few other parents as well but our attention isn't on them, we are here for our babies.

Just when they see us they both come running towards us. Jonah jumps into my arms with a slight squeal and Riley clings onto Maya.

"Good afternoon Mrs. and Mrs. Woods"

"Hi Vivian" we both greet her with polite smiles.

"Riley was a bit emotional today, I am not sure why but I thought I'd let you know"

"Oh, thank you" Maya answers and then looks at Riley. "What's wrong sweetheart? Are you okay?"

She doesn't say anything and just holds on tight to Maya's neck.

"Thank you Vivian" I smile at her and we start walking back to our car. I can hear Maya talking to Riley in a gentle tone but she's not getting anything from her yet. She just stays quiet.

"Baby, I'm going to sit with her in the back." She says as I strap Jonah in his car seat.

"Okay" I smile and we both get back in the car. "What do you think is wrong with her?"

"I don't know, maybe she's just tired" she says and I look at her through the rear view mirror.

Riley has her head down in Maya's neck and if the house was more than ten minutes away, she would fall asleep.

We pull into the garage and I help Jonah out of his seat. I take their bags and wait for Maya to walk in first. We get to the kitchen counter and I hear Alex coming down the stairs.

"Where's mommy Alex?" I say with an excited tone and Jonah looks around the room. I see Riley lifting her head and looking around as well, waiting for Alex to appear.

"Hi my beautiful babies" Alex says as she comes around the corner. She picks Jonah up for a few kisses and he lets out a cute giggle.

"Vivian said our little girl wasn't herself today" Maya informs her.

"I think she needs a little cuddle on the couch" I suggest and start unpacking their bags.

"What's wrong sweetheart?" Alex asks in a gentle tone and rubs up and down her back. She is still as quiet as before but slowly lets go of Maya to go into Alex's arms.

"Maybe somebody stole her snacks" Maya guesses and I let out an amusing chuckle. "What?" She smiles. "When I was in preschool, someone took my juice box and I cried the whole day."

Alex places her down on the counter and I frown a little when she takes off her shirt. She softly traces her hand over her skin and I can see Riley is also a little confused by what Alex is doing.

"What are you looking for?" Maya asks.

"I'm just checking if she has any bruises or marks." She says and takes off her pants as well.

"Bruises?" I step closer in concern.

"We always do this at the hospital when a toddler is acting a little strange." She explains and my concern changes to slight anger.

"Do you think someone hurt her?" Maya asks and I can see she is also a little upset.

"I was just checking lovies" she says in a comforting tone and then starts putting her clothes back on. "But she is perfectly beautiful, just like this morning." She says in a playful tone before kissing Riley's head.

"Oh thank goodness" Maya breathes out in relief. "I'm not ready for jail yet"

"Yet?" Alex and I question her with a slight chuckle.

"I have some paperwork to finalize, you know." She shrugs. "Just in case I would need to-"

"You don't need to do anything" I cut her off.

"Well, if one of our kids come home with a bruise then I might burn down the school."

"She is fine" Alex quickly answers and picks her up off the counter. "Let's just see how she feels after her nap, maybe she's coming down with something."

"Okay" we both say in agreement.

"I think we should lay down with them for a bit" Alex suggests and of course Maya and I wouldn't say no to that.

We start making our way upstairs and I take a deep breath. I really hope she is okay after her nap. Firstly, because I'm worried about her behavior especially after Alex's little exam on the kitchen counter but I also don't want her to get sick.

Jonah is definitely himself and it was a little challenging to get him up the stairs. He didn't want us to pick him up but he also didn't want to climb the stairs. This is not the first time this has happened and I'm sure it won't be the last.

"I'll go get their blankets" I say and make a stop at their room for the blankets and I also grab their soft toys.

As I walk into our bedroom, I see Maya and Alex moving some pillows around before she places Riley on the bed. Maya helps Jonah up on the bed as well and even though he has a lot of energy, he immediately lays down next to Riley.

I give them their blankets while Maya gets a movie ready on the tv and Alex she lays down on the bed, next to the twins. I immediately go take my place next to her and Maya crawls in between her legs, to lay on top of her. I wrap my arm around both of them and I start kissing Alex's cheek.

She laughs because she knows this is our next attempt to make her forgive us. We are desperate and we don't care.

"We love you so much" Maya smiles down at her.

"Lovies, the kids are still awake" she says in a gentle tone and we all look over to them but their focus is on the movie.

"Just say you still love us back" I whisper.

"I do love you" she says and reaches out to touch Maya's cheek and I feel a comforting touch on my back. "But I'm still mad at you."

"We're really sorry for playing so long." Maya apologizes first.

"We didn't-"

"It's all Stephanie's fault" Maya cuts me off and I gasp. "She made me play."

"Bullshit" I laugh.

"I also don't believe you." Alex laughs. "But it's okay."

"I promise we'll get everything done." I say in a gentle tone and kiss her shoulder.

"I know baby, I just wanted to get everything done before tonight." She sighs. "I just wanted to relax."

"You can sit on the couch, Steph and I will do everything."

"I want to relax with you, like this."

"We can still do that honey. We can have some wine by die pool." I say in a gentle tone.

"Or even in the pool" Maya smirks and bounces her hips down on Alex's waist.

"Baby stop" Alex laughs and wraps both her legs around Maya before she lifts her head to look past me.

I also turn a bit to see the twins and within those few minutes they are both drifting off to sleep.

"Let's just give them a few quiet minutes please?"

I let my head fall to Alex's shoulder and Maya lays down on her other shoulder.

"Looks like I have four babies today" Alex whispers with a slight chuckle and scratches up and down my back.

"Yes, you do, but we still need breastfeeding."

I hear a slap landing against Maya's back for her comment but she just smiles at me and I laugh. "I agree"

"I'm going to throw you out"
