Chapter 45: Irish Cookies
(The photo is a legit "conversation" I just had with my sister right after the Hospital gave me serious pain killers.)
You were laying sideways on the couch, waiting for Mark to get back from meeting Bristol. Sean was on his phone, eating a bag of Chips Ahoy! cookies, and Molly was playing Don't Starve on her iPad.
'I wanna go home. This sucks.'
"You want one?" Sean asked holding out the bag of cookies to you. You shook your head. "Oh come on, they'll make you happy!" He made an over the top kawaii face.
"No."
"Can you at least smile? I know things suck, but you have ta embrace the good in ta bad."
"What good?"
Sean thought for a second, before holding up the cookies. You rolled your eyes, as Sean bit into one.
Molly's phone rang, causing both you and Sean to look up at her.
"Hello?" Molly answered her phone. She was silent for a minute. "Oh no, that's horrible!"
Your stomach felt like a ball of ice. Sean looked at you, saying nothing, but his eyes asking you if you were alright.
"Yeah, go, go. Take care of her, then come here. We can wait." Molly replied to whoever she was talking to. She pulled the phone away from her ear as Lauryn started yelling something about "writing" "hospital" and "antsy" before Molly yelled goodbye to whoever she was talking to.
"What the fun was that?" Sean asked, a little bit of semi-chewed cookie flying out of his mouth.
"Bristol attacked Lauryn, they're at the Hospital."
"What did Bristol do to get Lauryn in the hospital? She was in public!" You gasped. You knew Bristol was crazy, but she's have to be an idiot to try to kill someone in public.
Molly scrunched her eyebrows. "Bristol grabbed her neck and tried to choke her. Also Lauryn is having some gallbladder trouble, and is getting some tests done now." Molly explained.
"And the yelling at the end?" Sean questioned, grabbing another cookie.
Molly shrugged, and picked up a hairband. "Heck if I know. Something about having to write on morphine because people want her to. Also, are you stress-eating, or are you one of those people who's always hungry? You've eaten two bags of those."
"No. I'm just someone who really likes cookies." Sean replied, laughing a little.
Despite whatever had gone on, and what was going on, you laughed too.
"See! That's a legit smile." Sean exclaimed.
"Shut up you- hey, Molly, is Mark okay?" You had strayed away from your fears for too long.
"Yep. Everyone's just fine. Except for Lauryn. She's apparently higher than a kite laughing at 'deez nuts' jokes. Mark'll be back soon." Molly answered, pulling her hair up into a ponytail.
"Sean, give me a cookie." You ordered. He hugged the bag.
"No. My cookies." He said sharply, like that of a toddler.
You giggled at the Irishman's antics. He really was quite the energetic one.
You wondered what the source of all his energy was, until you heard your phone ring.
Sorry about this chapter being total crap. I'm in the hospital, and I hurt and I'm completely loopy on morphine. AKA "I can't feel my arms... Haha! I can't feel this arm, or this arm, lol. BOTH ARMS! HAHAHA! I like everything right now... I want apple fritters."
Gimme a few days. I know this book hasn't been real chapters lately, but it's kinda the last thing on my mind right now.
Sorry, but I'm gonna take a nap for a while, okay? See ya.
