(Yes it's short. I've been a tad frustrated lately. Sorry!)

'What the fun is he talking about?!' You screamed internally. 'Is he cheating on me? Is he breaking up with me? About that... What does that even mean?!' You ranted to yourself.

"Look, we're in some deep shnicky now. And I don't know if you and I... I just..." Mark's voice faded, and he looked down at the floor.

"W-what?" You asked, your voice shaking immensely.

"This piece of bread Bristol is going to do whatever it takes to keep us apart, so... Maybe you and I should..."

"No..." You whispered, covering your mouth with your hand. Tears already cascaded down your face.

"I just want to keep you safe (Y/n). I can't lose another person I love. I think it's for the best. If you're with me, you're as much of a target as Yami, if not more." Mark said, turning his head away from you.

"I love you, but I can't lose you like I lost Dad. I need you to stay safe, I'll never forgive myself if something happened to you." Mark stated, regret and pain staining his normally gorgeous voice.

You closed your eyes and didn't say a word. Tears fell freely from your eyes and slid down your cheeks before splattering on the flooring of Mark's apartment.

"It's for the best (Y/n) but just remember, I love you." He reminded you lovingly.

You stood abruptly and turned towards the doorway. You looked back at him, tears still pouring down your face.

"Oh." Was all you said before you walked out of his apartment without another word.

Please... Don't kill/hate me... Nothing lasts forever. ;)
