1 - No

"Nope. No, I'm not doing it," Alex Rider stated, glaring at Alan Blunt. "So what if I'm the last person you have left? I don't want to do it."

"Not the last person we have left," Blunt corrected. "The last suitable person we have left."

"And by that you mean the only teen you lot even have," Alex corrected him. "You better not be getting any others, by the way. I don't want any people to be dragged into this life."

"No, no, Alex," Mrs Jones assured him. "No other boy would be as good as you are."

"Because that makes me feel better," he muttered angrily.

"And by the way, I still say no," he added as he walked out of the room.

The next day - which was a Saturday - he got a call from the bank, asking him to come and check his account.

He hung up.

The day after that, Sunday, of course, a black limo stayed outside his house for the entire day and night.

He snuck out the back and went to Tom's.

On Monday, it seemed that MI6 had given up; he didn't see them as he walked to school.

Alex decided to act like a normal kid, and he started speaking to the teacher again. He hadn't done that in quite awhile, still recovering from the loss of his last mission. The teacher, shocked that he has spoken to her, beamed, and was about to speak when she was interrupted by a knock at the door.

"Come in," she called, smiling brightly at Alex, who looked rather disgruntled.

"I'm looking for an Alex Rider?" the man gave an apologetic grin. "He has a dentist appointment, did he tell you?"

"No, but kids these days will do anything to get out of appointments," she joked, whilst Alex looked at the man with a familiar look.

"I'm not going," he stated, glaring at the man.

"Come on, Alex-" the man tried.

"No, Crawley, I already told you. I'm - not - going."

"Alex Rider, come with me now," the man (now known as Crawley) ordered. Alex merely shook his head in annoyance, and put his feet up on the desk and leaned back in his chair.

"I'm not in the mood for any saving today," he said dryly. Anybody else would assume it would be the old fashioned saving your teeth dilemma, but in actual fact it was a code. Crawley had to hide a grin.

"Still need to come. And after that, the bank needs you, something about your account issues?"

"Tell them I'm switching to another bank," Alex said, not caring about the blatant disrespect that he was giving Crawley. But apparently his teacher did.

"Alex," his teacher started. "I think you should listen to this man, it seems like this is very important. And it's rather hard to switch banks when you're a child."

"Yeah," he nodded. "I'm a child. Right."

He sighed in annoyance. Unwillingly, he stood up and dragged his feet over to the man. "I'm doing this because there are witnesses, not because I have a world-saving problem," he murmured.

"Of course, Alex," Crawley chuckled. "Well!" he said to Alex's teacher. "We'll be off, see you soon, madam."

"Any time, sir," she blushed.

"See you when I see you, Tom," Alex scowled. Tom frowned, knowing what it meant. See you when I see you. He didn't know when he'd be back.

Stupid MI6.

"Look, Alex," Blunt said, "it's a couple of years away from your life now. We probably won't contact you; you should be contacting us, you're on a mission and you need to tell us if you get any information."

"A couple years," Alex shrieked. "No, I'm not spending a couple of years away from my friend! No way!"

"Alex, you have to," Blunt stated. "Or something might just happen to your friend..." he left the sentence hanging.

Alex stared at him with plain disgust. "I can't believe you," he began lowly. "I thought you were supposed to help people. But you're threatening, no, blackmailing a fifteen year old." He shook his head. "I can't believe you."

"So, you're doing it," Blunt said, not looking happy about the prospect, although Alex knew he was pleased with himself.

"Yes."

So... heya! This is my book, if you haven't seen Alex and Co, I sincerely believe you should watch it :) it's on Disney Channel, and it's in English btw. It was originally Italian, I think, but I'm going with that they're American, because I can't speak Italian. Ha. Also, chapters may come out later than usual, because I'll be doing two at a time. See ya!
