52- Engagment discussion

Hello, all of you beautiful readers~♡ I hope that your days have been well.:3 I know mine have gotten better now that I've had a relaxation day.:3 I'm not so stressed mentally, but it is still difficult for me to write. Mainly because the stress itself has produced its own writers block and that sucks.🤣😂 But I'm trying to work through it~♡ I have big things planned in the next few chapters, so please look forward to that~♡ I do have a Christmas chapter, but of course, it won't be posted on Christmas anymore.😂🤣 But what can you do?🤣😂 As for this chapter, we finally get to meet Jungkook's mom.😂🤣 There isn't anything too triggering in this chapter, but please be advised when reading because it could take some crazy ass turn somewhere down the line.🤣😂 Without further ado, please enjoy this next installment~♡♡♡

Seokjin woke up to the fluorescent lights of the nurse's office beaming down in his face from the chair that he had slept in the night before. He lifted his head off the back of the uncomfortable chair to see that the office had been decorated and that Hoseok and Yoongi were adding on the finishing touches. Seokjin slowly stood from the chair, his eyes wide with awe as tears filled his eyes. He was going to miss his friends after he graduated from this school.

Hoseok stepped off of the step ladder that he'd previously been standing on to hang a banner. Hoseok turned toward Yoongi, only to spot that Seokjin was staring at them and smiled slightly. Yoongi turned his head to see Seokjin and they both smiled at him. "Surprise," they both stated in unison. "We were trying to keep from waking you up," Hoseok continued, placing his hands on his hips. "We were almost successful," Hoseok added as he sighed softly. Yoongi patted Hoseok's shoulders gently before he moved to massage them. "Well, we're done decorating, at least, baby. We were just waiting on everyone else to return," Yoongi noted, chuckling softly as Hoseok nodded his head in affirmation.

Seokjin slowly stretched his body out, feeling all the aches and pain fade from his stiff body. He wiped away the tears that had previously collected in his eyes, noticing that Jungkook's bed was empty. "Where's Jungkook? He shouldn't be moving around a whole lot," Seokjin expressed his concern, noticing that the only people in the room beside him were Yoongi and Hoseok. "Where is everybody else?" Seokjin asked, glancing around in concern. The day before there had been that wild and furious girl in the room accusing Taehyung of putting Jungkook in that predicament. He was worried something had taken place while he was asleep.

Hoseok smiled as he glanced at Yoongi and then back at Seokjin. "Don't worry about Jungkook, Jin. Tae has him well taken care of and even helped him to his destination. As for the others, they're all getting ready for the party we're about to have for you. You can go change too, if you'd like," Hoseok suggested as Seokjin nodded and walked towards the door. "I'll be right back then," Seokjin noted, leaving the room. Hoseok turned toward Yoongi and they both sighed in relief. "That was a close call," Hoseok whispered toward Yoongi as Yoongi nodded. "Yeah, we wouldn't want to ruin the surprise."

Jungkook sat in the visitor's room by himself, waiting and hoping that his mother would show up. He'd called her from the nurse's office when the nurse wasn't paying attention and while she sounded apprehensive, she had agreed to meet with him. With Taehyung's help, he was able to get here early, but that wasn't always a good thing. He would have rather his mother wait on him instead because then he wouldn't be so terrified that she wasn't going to show.

He picked at a loose thread on his shirt that he'd changed into so that his mother wouldn't think anything was wrong and he could already be changed for Seokjin's graduation party. He wanted to show Jin his appreciation for helping him overcome that last little bit of hesitation in dating Tae.

Jungkook sighed nervously, still picking at the loose thread when the door opened and his mother walked into the room. He would have stood to greet her, his excitement definitely outweighing the pain, but he didn't want to exasperate his new stitches yet again. "Mom," Jungkook called happily, waving towards her and slowly rising to his feet. His mother could see him struggling to stand on his own and placed her hand gently on his shoulder to assure him that he didn't need to stand to greet her.

She smiled as they exchanged a tender hug, her eyes filled with tears as she gently caressed Jungkook's cheek. "What have you gotten yourself into, Kookie? You know I've missed you so much," she whispered softly, taking a seat next to Jungkook. Jungkook smiled and leaned into her touch, missing his mother more than anything at home. "I actually haven't gotten myself into any trouble recently," Jungkook reported confidently, proud that he could be deemed as good to his mother yet again. "It's just really important that I talk to you before Tuesday," Jungkook added, grasping his mother's hands gently.

"I'm really sorry about the way I acted that day. I lost control of myself and I've regretted it ever since being admitted here. I'm slowly learning to control my temper and it's thanks to this person that I've met here. H- He's helping me realize my flaws... And I want to improve them for him," Jungkook announced softly, his mother's eyes widening in surprise. "Wait? H- He? I- I thought you liked girls?" She asked incredulously, her grip tightening around Jungkook's hands.

Jungkook smiled softly as he tilted his head in embarrassment with a soft laugh. "Well, you see. I- I thought I did too there for a while, but I actually liked both, mom. I kept that a secret from you and dad, but I can't really keep him a secret if I want to marry him, now can I?" Jungkook asked as his mother's eyes widened even more. He was certain her eyes would roll right out of her head if she widened them any further. "Y- You want to marry this boy? B- But you're so young, Kookie," she stated softly, not sure how she should go about this situation. She honestly never thought Jungkook would settle down enough to ever marry anyone and here he was asking if he could marry someone. "Are you sure you're even ready to make that kind of commitment? I mean, I haven't even heard of this boy, let alone met him," she added nervously, trying to understand Jungkook's decision.

"No, mom. I'm not sure that I'm ready to make that kind of commitment, but I am sure that I don't want him to be with anybody else. I couldn't bear to see him with another person, mom. And his parents want him married by his eighteenth birthday. He's got a year left at the end of December," Jungkook explained softly, his mother noticing the soft smile on his face as he talked about this boy. She could really see the love that Jungkook had for this other male in his eyes as she sighed softly.

"I wasn't really ready either when I married your father, but I felt the same way. I didn't want to be without him so I understand where you're coming from with this, baby. I just don't know if it'd be a good idea, especially since you both met inside of a drug rehab facility," she stated cautiously, shaking her head slightly. "But if he makes you happy, I'm all for it," she added, smiling softly as she squeezed Jungkook's hand reassuringly.

Jungkook smiled at his mother's words, wrapping his arms around his mother in another warm hug. "Thank you so much, mom. Could you please do me a favor?" Jungkook asked, pulling back from the hug to look his mother in the eyes. She nodded softly as Jungkook deliberately rose to his feet, gripping his stomach in pain. His mother went to grab for him, thinking he was going to fall backward but he stopped her hands with his own, offering her a sheepish smile. "I'm fine, mom. I could just really use your help getting an engagement ring before Tuesday. It's vital that I have that before Tuesday," Jungkook insisted as his mother stared at him, wide eyed.

"Baby, engagement rings are very expensive. I don't think we'd be able to afford an engagement ring in less than a week," his mother explained, holding his hand tightly in her own. "I don't think that's feasible with the money we make right now," she added softly, rubbing her thumb gently over the back of his hand. Jungkook very deliberately pulled his hand from her grasp and made his way over towards the door, where he motioned for someone to come closer. His mother watched as Jungkook ushered a handsome young man with cocoa brown hair and anxious brown eyes into the room. The other male wrapped a supportive arm around Jungkook and helped him back over towards the table, his eyes full of concern the entire way. "Mom. This is Taehyung," Jungkook introduced him, sitting back down at Taehyung's urging.

Jungkook watched as his mother's eyes widened as she stared up at Taehyung. Taehyung fidgeted slightly under her gaze, shifting his gaze anxiously off to the side of her head as he stared back at her. Taehyung offered a sheepish smile and scratched the side of his cheek as Jungkook held his other hand for reassurance. Jungkook found it weird that his mother was still staring up at Taehyung, dumbfounded as Taehyung continued to fidget nervously under her intense gaze. "Th- This is the boy y- you want to marry?" She asked incredulously, her mouth remaining agape as she continued to stare at Taehyung. She recognized him from the tabloids as a very wealthy man's son. A man that her husband worked for at that wealthy man's firm. "Y- You know your father works for his father, right?" She asked softly, noticing the shift in both Taehyung and Jungkook's demeanors.

Although, neither one let go of the other's hand as they glanced at each other and then back at Jungkook's mom. "I don't care about that," Taehyung declared openly, squeezing Jungkook's hand reassuringly. "I was first attracted to Kookie for his rebellious nature and vivacious personality. I love him because he treats me so well, even before he found out my family had money," Taehyung explained softly, his cheeks flushing as he spoke. Jungkook stared up at Taehyung with a soft smile as Taehyung pulled his hands from Jungkook's gentle grasp and pulled his wallet from his back pocket, opening it up. Jungkook, realizing what Taehyung was doing, quickly halted his hands and snapped the wallet closed once again as their eyes met. "You're not going to pay for your own engagement ring," Jungkook insisted, still holding both of Taehyung's hands in his own.

Jungkook's mother smiled as she watched the interaction between her son and Taehyung. She sighed softly as she stood to her feet, surprising both Taehyung and Jungkook. "I'll be back tomorrow then," she announced openly, gently placing her hands on Taehyung's shoulder and Jungkook's shoulder. "I can see how serious the two of you are about being engaged. I'll see what I can do about getting you an engagement ring before Tuesday," she added, gently squeezing both their shoulders in reassurance before leaving the room.

Taehyung looked at Jungkook with an unreadable expression as Taehyung sighed softly. "Why couldn't you just let me pay for it, Kookie? I really don't mind and I didn't want you to stress about it financially," Taehyung insisted softly as Jungkook gently cupped Taehyung's face with a smile. "Because then I wouldn't feel like I deserve you if I allowed you to pay for an engagement ring that I want to present to you. Plus, I want it to be a surprise for you," Jungkook added, pulling Taehyung's face closer to his own. He softly pressed his lips to Taehyung's own with a slow and steady rhythm. Taehyung's knees buckled under him and he had to grab hold of the bench and sit down to keep from falling.

Jungkook smirked into the kiss before pulling away slightly, leaving Taehyung breathless as he hesitantly opened his eyes to look at Jungkook. "That's not a fair way to argue," Taehyung whined softly, shifting his hands to Jungkook's shoulders. "That's cheating," Taehyung added in a whiny voice as Jungkook kissed Taehyung once more, wrapping his arms firmly around Taehyung's back. Taehyung's back arched perfectly in Jungkook's grasp, his thighs resting between Taehyung's thighs, their breathing mingling between each passionate kiss before Jungkook had to force himself away from Taehyung.

"We should seriously get back to the nurse's office. I just hope Jimin was really able to get Namjoon to attend so that we can surprise Seokjin," Jungkook stated, trying his best not to look at Taehyung and his pouty face with rosy cheeks. He didn't know if he'd be able to keep his hands to himself if he kept kissing Taehyung like that. Taehyung slowly rose to his feet, offering a helping hand towards Jungkook. Jungkook took his hand, still not meeting Taehyung's eyes for the time being until he could gain his composure again.

Taehyung wrapped Jungkook's arm around his neck and slowly began to lead him towards the nurse's office. "You know, you can call him Jin," Taehyung whispered softly as Jungkook looked over at him. He instantly regretted it with Taehyung's hand so close to his lower abdomen for support. "You're one of his friends now too so he would definitely appreciate you calling him Jin more," Taehyung added as Jungkook nodded slightly, trying not to focus on his thoughts as they approached the nurse's office.

Jungkook opened the door with Taehyung supporting him as they steadily made their way back into the room. Hoseok and Yoongi stood to their feet to help Taehyung support Jungkook. Jimin stood near the partition curtain, where a silhouette remained hidden. Everyone in the room knew that silhouette to be Namjoon hiding, but all of them waited for Seokjin to return so that they could surprise him.
