Emiko [POV]

"Mikaaa" I called drawing out her name as we neared class 1-B.  She met us in the middle turned around the corner she smiled

"You guys were taking longer than usual I had to come investigate" she laughed, Ichi seemed restless

"You want something?" I asked noticing his distress he nodded pressing his middle finger to his bottom lip a silent proclamation 'I want to ask a question'

"Go ahead then no one's stopping you" I urged Midoriya seemed confused not knowing that we had certain codes though what surprised me was then he started to use sign language.  We had all learned together when we were kids but I was surprised that he still remembered and was surprised that I still did as well

'Hang out?' he signed I couldn't stop myself from laughing

"You still remember sign language after all these years and yet you didn't bother using it all day?" I asked with a laugh knowing that it would still be slightly difficult to understand him as he never really made grammatically correct sentences in sign language he only used the most important words.  It helped a bit that he signed slowly as I had to struggle to remember

'forgot about it' he signed

"What did he say?" Midoriya asked looking back and forth

"He wanted to ask if you wanted to hang out with us tonight" even though it was still difficult translating sign language was much, much easier compared to when he would mime things out

'mom dad home late tonight'

"Our parents won't be home until late tonight" I translated using correct sentences through translation

'quiet us three tonight have fun'

"It will be quiet at our house and with just the three of us it could be fun" Mika translated Ichiro smiled innocently

"Sure why not I'm sure my mom wouldn't mind" Midoriya replied happily after we made sure Ichi was finished signing.  Ichiro smiled clasping his hands together one thing he didn't have to sign 'thank you' as he bowed.  I shook my head smiling, he could be so childish sometimes just to get his way.  Occasionally on the way home Ichi would stop and sign something and me or Mika would translate for him.  It was fun though and Ichi seemed to be happy and I think that Midoriya was having fun as well.  When we got to our house I unlocked the door going inside, they followed me.  Ichiro shut the door behind himself as he came in last locking the door.  I sat down on the couch, Ichiro sat in his spot on the couch right in front of it on the floor actually.  Midoriya sat on the chair and Mika sat next to Ichiro but she actually sat on the couch.  I watched Ichiro as he looked at Midoriya catching his eye

'hungry?' he signed.  I found it amusing that even though Midoriya couldn't understand sign language Ichi still looked directly at the person he was talking to

"he asked if you were hungry?" Mika explained putting her hand on his head ruffling his hair

"A little I guess" Midoriya replied

"Ichiro stay there I don't ever trust you in the kitchen when you're right in the head I defiantly don't trust you now when you're messed up" I stood up going into the kitchen.  I decided to make some popcorn I could hear Mika translating to Midoriya as they had somewhat of a conversation.  I put the popcorn in the microwave waiting for it to beep.  When it did I poured it into a bowl and went back out.  I set it on the coffee table sitting back down on the couch

"Ichiro what's your favorite hero?" Midoriya asked excitedly.  It seemed like an odd 'out of the blue' question but, I was interesting in Ichiro's answer.  He thought for a moment

'Eraser' he signed I knew exactly who he was talking about

"Eraser head" I translated Ichi smiled nodding

"Really?  Why?" Midoriya asked but it wasn't in a teasing way it was in a way that it sounded like Midoriya was genuinely interested

'Strong, brave, serious, quiet' he explained

"Strong, brave, serious, quiet" I directly translated

"I don't ever remember hearing about him before going to U.A." Midoriya scratched his chin

'Capture villain' I knew what he was talking about

"Ichiro read a news article when he captured several villains saving quite a few people I don't think it was his debut but still" I explained

'Opposite present microphone' he added

"And he's pretty much the opposite of present mic who scares the crap out of Ichi" 

"I bet even Aizawa who would never admit or show it but I bet he would take that to heart" Midoriya laughed

'favorite hero?'

"He asked what your favorite hero is?" I translated stuffing a handful of popcorn in my mouth tossing an unpopped kernel at Ichi.

"All might" Midoriya responded without missing a beat Ichiro smiled nodding.  I expected him to give a further explanation but I don't think one was needed, Ichiro understood.  He was good at that understanding things that weren't said that's why he's the best to talk to he always listens and understands.  Midoriya ate some of the popcorn

"Ichi are you going to eat anything?" I asked but he shook his head

'throat hurt when eat' he signed

"Your throat hurts already?" I asked

'just when I eat' he signed shaking his head

"Only when you eat?" I asked again, he nodded scratching at his ear

"Well that's what happens when you aren't used to being loud what did you expect you're a quiet person" Ichiro started to sign something in either explanation or defense but stopped putting his hands down

"Did you want to say something?" I asked but he shook his head quickly

Ichiro [POV]

I wanted to tell Emi everything about my panic attack but I didn't want to ruin the moment.  It was difficult to communicate still but sign language was helpful.  I started to space out my throat already starting to burn.  I coughed a few times knowing it was useless

"Ichi" Mika tapped me on the head, I leaned my head back looking up at her "you can't use your quirk right?" I raised one eyebrow at her question.  I thought for a few moments remembering how to sign my answer

'no can't' I shook my head 'why'

"Oh no reason" there was a suspicious tone in her voice and the way she averted her eyes made it even more suspicious.  Midoriya glanced out the window.  It had started to rain again small raindrops pattered against the window

"It's been raining a lot lately hasn't it?" He pointed out

'Yes, rain beautiful' I signed following his gaze even though he didn't understand.  After a while more of us chatting and me struggling to communicate I heard a car pull into the driveway.  By the sounds of it dad was home not mom.

"Is she home already?" Emi asked nervously

'dad' I signed looking out the window.  He stepped out of the car hurrying to the door it was still pouring.  He unlocked the door and even though he was barely out there for a few seconds his hair was dripping

"Did you three miss me?" he asked bursting through the door not seeing Midoriya yet

"Hi dad" Emi smiled Dad looked at me one eyebrow raised

"Ichiro you know that you can sit on the couch right?" he asked I smiled knowing dad didn't know sign language and he hated when I used it

'I like to sit on the floor' I signed

"Are you threatening me I feel like you're threatening me" He turned to Emi "Is he threatening me?"

"no he just said he likes sitting on the floor" she laughed

"I think you're lying" he insisted

"She's not dad" Mika insisted I smiled

"He's smiling he must be up to something" Dad went over ruffling my hair spotting Midoriya "Oh my gosh I'm so sorry I didn't even see you there why didn't you say you had a friend over I would have fixed myself up" Dad slicked back his rain soaked hair playfully.  He leaned over a smile plastered on his face offering his hand to Midoriya

"I'm Aiko" Midoriya took his hand nervously shaking it

"I'm Midoriya" He greeted

"Pleased to meet you" There was a smile on dads face a specific one that he was thinking of doing something embarrassing

"Pleased to meet you as well sir" Midoriya greeted formally.  Dad wrapped his arm around Midoriya's shoulder playfully

"No need to be so formal here if you're a friend of my children you're a friend of mine which means you're always welcome here" Dad exclaimed before whispering "Especially if you're a friend of Ichi's" 

"Thank you" Midoriya smiled

"Oh speaking of you Ichi I got you something" Dad tossed me a bag of circular colorful hard candies.  They had white powder covering them.  It was the kind I liked.  They were sour and barely sweet at all, I don't like sweet things

'thank you' I signed

"Is he threatening me again?" he asked playfully

"No he said thank you" Emi rolled her eyes

"Right I got you girls something as well I just happened to go by the candy store today" He tossed them both a bag of round chocolate sweets and even behind his back he handed Midoriya three round sweets in colorful wrapping

"Thanks dad" Emi and Mika exclaimed

"Thank you" Midoriya added as well

"You're all welcome, now I'll be upstairs if you need me" he started to walk away but as he got to the bottom of the stairs he added "And I totally won't be eating all these sweets" he held up another bag of candies before laughing and walking upstairs

"Your dad is nice" Midoriya commented after a few moments

"Oh yeah it's mom that you have to worry about she's..... strict" Emi popped a chocolate in her mouth "Ichi you're not supposed to have sweets" she scolded looking at me

'they are not sweet' I signed

"You're not supposed to have sugar at all" she rephrased, I stuck my tongue out 

"He's been doing a lot of things he's not supposed to do today like he wasn't even supposed to go to school or even get out of bed.  He didn't take his medicine, he's not supposed to pick fights and he was supposed to eat something" Mika listed off shaking her head

"You're very uncooperative as well" She added, I opened the bag putting one in my mouth staring her right in the eyes

"Scandalous" Emi gasped, the candy wasn't very sour but it was still good.  It was cherry flavored

"What are those?" Midoriya asked

"Ridiculously sour candies don't trust his blank face they're awful" Emi cried out

'not that bad' I signed

"You're such a liar they're super sour I can't understand how you can like them" she shook her head

"Can I try one?" he asked I nodded

"Don't say we didn't warn you" Mika shook her head disapprovingly.  I handed him one of the sweets that was watermelon flavored

"Thank you" he took it from me putting it in his mouth.  In a few seconds he covered his mouth coughing

"What the heck?" He cried out slightly muffled by his hands

"We warned you" Emi and Mika both said at the same time

"It's burning" He cried out

"We warned you" They repeated he finished the candy whining the whole time

"Ichi you've built up a tolerance over time but it's ridiculously sour and you need to stop offering it to unsuspecting victims" Emi scolded I only shrugged

"Ichiro why I trusted you" Midoriya whined 

'not that sour' I signed

"They are to" Mika exclaimed I shrugged again.  I heard another car pull up to the driveway my breath caught in my throat.  I looked up at Emi her eyes were full of fear

"What's wrong?" Midoriya asked

"Ah it's nothing don't worry about it" she replied trying to keep her voice calm she smiled reassuringly

(A.N. another cliff hanger mwahaha but I wanted to get this one finished before it got to long)
