Alexander's POV
     I padded out of the metro station with my bag on my back. were bustling about, hurrying to get to work, as it was late in the morning. Their fur brushed my own as they pushed pass. I shook my head a few times to try and block out the noise and continued up the street. The sound of blunt claws clicking against the sidewalk filled my ears, but I tried to ignore it. Cold air blasted into my face and I had to squint my eyes to be able to see without tears filling them. I fluffed up my fur to try and keep warm in the insanely cold weather. Eventually, I spotted Colombia University a little ways in front of me. Since I desperately wanted to get out of the street, I ran, dodging every dog in my way. Once I had arrived at the entrance, I padded through the large gates and glanced around for a front office.

     I saw a sign that read 'Main Office', so I figured that was where I'd get my dorm assignment, my key, and my list of classes. The female dog at the desk glanced up as she saw me approaching. "Name?" She asked sweetly.

     "Alexander Hamilton." I said, stilling my quivering tail. She passed me a small folder and a key with a copy attached to the ring. I nodded my thanks and stepped out of the office, looking through the folder. 'Room 184, Building A.' I thought, twitching my ears. I slipped the folder into my backpack and started toward a building that had the letter 'A' on it.

     I walked through the entrance to see a few other dogs, whom I presumed to be students, standing in groups chatting. I didn't really want to meet anyone new at the moment, so I walked past them and went to find my room. After many failed attempts, I had finally found my room and opened the door to it. As I walked inside, I realized that my roommate is probably already here, considering one side of the room was already decorated with items while the other was blank. I took the other bed and placed my bag on it.

I began unpacking the small amount of stuff I did have. I packed away my clothes and placed my textbooks on my desk. Once I had finished, I took out my school-borrowed computer and began writing about my experiences here so far. The door suddenly opened and the dogs from the hall downstairs entered.
