Redoing Our Vows
The presit smiles, "okay repeat after me. With this ring..."
"With this ring...." Dally and I repeat.
"I repledge," he continues.
"I repledge," we both smile.
"My love and my life," the preist informs.
"My love and my life," we say in perfect sync.
"To you," the preist smiles.
"To you," we end.
"You may now kiss your wife," the preist concludes.
Dally leans over and pecks my lips before asking, "you ready to finally move into our house?"
"Our home," I correct, "and yes."
*************************
After I put the girls to bed I lie next to Dally in our bed in our home as a married couple. He wraps his arms tightly around my small waist, "goodnight Basil."
"Goodnight Dallas," I reply. "I love you."
"I love you too," he mumbled before I hear snoring telling me he's asleep.
It's funny how a few months ago, two members of the gang were in jail, the gang was all broken apart, Dallas wasn't in my life, I relasps, and we (Dally and I) were always fighting. I guess the injury wasn't so bad; look at all that came out of it. It put my life back on track. There's only two people I can thank for that.
I get up and walk over to Kendall and Chloe, "thanks mommy. Thanks daddy. I love you guys."
"I love you too my sweet, sweet girl. You're welcome," I hear my dad's voice. I look in the corner to see him fading away, but I'm okay with it. I know I'm gonna see him again and I know for once in my life everything is gonna be alright.
I kiss my baby's heads before going back to bed and falling fast asleep in Dally's arms.
