Chapter 4: Adoption
Elsa's Pov
Elsa: "I would like to adopt Y/n..."
The young woman pauses for a brief move before a small smile formed on her face.
Lana: "Well it looks like he finally got his wish after all."
I got confused on what she meant by that. What did she mean *Wish*?
Elsa: "What do you mean?"
Lana: "Well he always wanted a mother, he wakes up in the middle of night, and wishes to one day to have beautiful mother."
The queen just listens while the young told her more about the little boy. I was stunned to hear what said about the little boy. That he waits everyday for someone to adopt him and now that day has finally come. And he's only like 5 or 6 years old?
Lana: "And I guess that wish is you."
Elsa: "I guess..."
I nervelessly look down at my hands. I still wasn't sure if I could do this but I can not take back what I said a minute ago.
This didn't go unnoticed by Lana, who looked very concerned for her queen, and the young wasn't afraid to ask.
Lana: "What's wrong?"
Elsa: "I-I d-don't"
Lana: "Your not sure on how to be a parent?"
Slowly I gave her a small nod. It's true, I didn't know how to be a parent, or even know how to take care of child, and I wasn't sure if I could be a good parent. Let alone be a good mother towards a child.
Lana: "Well it's not ease raising a child your highness, especially for single mothers, but I can help you with that."
Elsa: "You can?"
Lana: "Of course I can, I work with children all day everyday your majesty, but it's not an easy task."
Well she wasn't wrong about that. This woman knows more about taking care children more then I do. So she may be able to help me with steps on being a good parent for a child. And all the things I need to raise a child. Especially this one. Maybe she can also help me out of this shy shell I'm in.
Lana: "For starters, you need to be there for them, I have a book on parenting that I can give you."
Elsa: "Okay."
Lana: "You also need to give them a lot love."
Of course, you can't just adopt a child and not give them any affection. The book she's giving me could help me a lot for what comes ahead.
Elsa: "I'll do my best..."
Lana: "But before we continue, I need to ask you something."
Elsa: "Go ahead."
Lana: "Are you scared?"
Her question was very simple, yes I was scared and I had a reason to be scared. What if I'm not good enough, what if I can't give him enough attention that he needs, and what if I can't give him all of the love he needs? That's what I'm mostly afraid of, not giving him the love he needs, like the time I shut out my own sister, and that's one of my biggest regrets I have ever made. I didn't want to repeat the same mistake again.
Not only that but I froze my sister's heart and I thought she gone. That it was one of biggest fears and what if it repeats but this time it will be this boys heart frozen. I didn't want that to happen to the next person who got close to me. I'm still getting use to opening up to people and expressing my love for my sister.
After some thinking, I look up at Lana. Slowly I gave her a nod. Finally giving the patient woman her answer.
Lana: "Well you don't have to be scared."
Elsa: "Why?"
Lana: "Because Y/n is a big sweetheart, he's a very nice and friendly little boy, and you and your sister will love him."
The way Lana spoke of the boy was breathtaking. Lana explains how sweet and how kind Y/n really was. She also explains that he was very quite sometimes at some point of the day but that was something he and her had in common.
Elsa: "That sounds wonderful."
Lana: "It sure is. Now let's continue where we left off."
Third Person POV
After Lana explain everything to Elsa on how to raise a child, she pulls out the paperwork from her desk, and hands her a pin to write with. Lana also pulls out a book she mention from earlier
Once Elsa read and signed every paper and Lana went over Y/n's history, and Elsa was now his legal guardian. The strange and very cute little boy who sat in the corner of the room was now hers. Out of the questions and thoughts she had, she decided upon one to fixate on what she had done.
She knew she felt sorry for the boy, but could she really put herself in the position to give this boy a loving mother and a warm home? Sure, she was mature to handle a kingdom, but a kingdom was far more different from a child... but they still had their similarities. The snow queen is now a mother, a single mother, and now she has a child to raise.
Both Arendelle and Y/n needed Elsa's affection and presence. They both needed her care and patience, her loyalty and strength. But they both don't need her frozen heart. Could she really handle both of these things to divide herself to serve both of their needs, or would she give up or fail in the process, giving one more attention than the other?
Elsa's mind: "I can do this. There's no backing out now."
Once they were done with everything, Elsa and Lana left the office, and walk back into room where Anna was still tickling Y/n. There were also some other children that join her into tickle battle. Some of the children were also tickling Y/n with Anna but mostly she was the one tickling him. This scene was so adorable, it made both Elsa and Lana giggle at how cute the sight was, and Elsa couldn't help but smile at the scene.
It didn't take long for Anna to noticed her sister had come back into the room. So she finally stops tickling Y/n and and the rest of the kids did the same. Everyone's eyes were now on Lana and Elsa.
Lana: "Y/n dear, please come here."
The little boy gets up from the floor and slowly walks up to Lana.
Lana: "Congratulations Y/n. You now have finally gotten your wish. Yon now have been officially adopted by Queen Elsa."
The young woman shows that Elsa was now his mother. Y/n looks at Elsa who gives the boy a little smile in return. The little boy runs up to the older woman and hugs her legs. The queen winced from the sudden affection, slowly Elsa gently pats the boy's head, who seems to like in and hugs her legs more tighter.
Anna: "I'm now his aunt!"
The younger sister joins the hug, Elsa slowly hugs her sister back, while Y/n buried his head into Elsa's dress. The other children watched from the other side of the room. Some of were glad and happy for Y/n while some other began clapping for them.
Y/n: "Thank you for adopt me"
Elsa: "Your welcome little one"
