And the winner of the cover contest is.... *drum roll* Fool-for-Dally !!!!!👑👑👑. But I also loved the one made by Tuff_Greaser so this chapter is dedicated to both of you! Great job!
I decided they finally deserved to know the truth about me. I took a deep breath, bracing myself for the memories that were sure to cloud my mind as soon as I started talking. The gang stared at me with wide, expectant eyes. "I was adopted at 13. No one wanted the older kids at the orphanage but I eventually had a chance at a foster home. I went through fifteen homes before someone finally adopted me. I had thought I'd be alone for the rest of my life, so imagine my surprise when I found out someone actually wanted me. The people who adopted me were a middle age married couple, their last name was Ford-"
"Selena Ford?" Soda interrupted crinkling his nose, "I don't like it..."
I ignored the comment and continued, "Charles Ford, and Laura Ford. They had taken me to a large brick house, almost immediately claiming I was just the replacement for the baby they weren't able to have, I let that comment go over my head, even though it stung when I first heard those words. They took me into the brick house and showed me my room, it was an average size room with a window, a dresser, and a twin sized bed, but to me it looked like a palace. Things went well for the first couple of months, and I was happy...but after a while the dad Charles developed a drinking problem. He started to hurt me and Laura didn't give a hang by that time. So...I lived in fear...scared to talk scared to have opinions, scared of everything. "
"Like me..." Johnny muttered.
"Recently it got worse and I guess they were done with me since they took of and left. I went to the train station to start a "new life" and that's when blondie and Johnny found me."
Dallas growled, "Call me blondie again and I'll- "
"You'll what? Dallas, I'm already in a hospital bed. There's not much more I can handle."
He opened his mouth, probably to say a rude reply, but quickly snapped it shut.
"Yeah..well uh.. Just don't call me blondie again."
I rolled my piercing blue eyes, "Sure thing...blondie."
He scowled, but I could tell he was impressed. I yawned, "I'd love to talk more about my terrible past but I could use some sleep." I said a little harsher than I meant too. The gang all nodded with solemn looks on their faces and quietly left the room...well all but Dallas. He just shot me a look that had not fear in it...but admiration, I gave him a nod and leaned my head back against the white pillow, feeling sleep overcome me I let my guard down...slowly.
