Say What?!
Hours later and we are cuddled underneath the covers catching our breath. I know I told our friends that Sebastian and I talk, but honestly we do spend an awful lot of time in rather compromising positions.
I begin writing on his chest again with my fingers as I look up at the clock. He looks at me as I spell out the words I love you in gentle swirls with my fingertips. "Pretty Girl, lay back down. We still have time." I sigh and wrap my arms around him. "Sebby, we really don't.... It's already 1 in the afternoon and it takes you over an hour to get back. Plus we still need to get my car."
I can feel him pouting as he kisses my hair. It really just isn't fair at all. Things would be so much easier if we weren't two 17 year olds in high school. He wraps his arms tightly around me and pulls me on top of him so I can look into his eyes. "Princess, do we have to? Can't we just hide or run away?" I kiss him softly on his nose, he looks so adorable right now and I would love nothing more than to take him up on his offer. But sadly I can't and we both know it. "I would honestly love that but Sebastian even if we did you know it would never last. Someone would track us down and bring us back."
He sighs and strokes my hair. "I know.... Your cousin would flip out, hunt us down and then kill me." I giggle softly and smile before I reluctantly climb off him and get out of bed. "Blaine would be so angry. He may not kill you, probably just cut off the fun parts. And he would most definitely lock me in a convent or tall tower like Rapunzel." Sebastian sits up holding the blankets to himself and grimaces. "Please don't talk about cutting things off. I'm quite attached."
I give him a small smirk. I know that the only way he is going to get out of bed is if I tease him. "I know. It's my favorite part too!! But if Blaine does that you know your fellow Warblers would be very pleased. I can almost picture Jeff and Nick planning your downfall so they get their wife back."
That does it. Sebastian's eyes go wide and he throws the blankets off, bolting out of bed. In one swift motion he comes to me and lifts me off my feet, carrying me into the bathroom. Once he has placed me back on my feet he addresses the topic. "Nononononono! Sebby most definitely does NOT share. If either of those fools lay a hand on you I will break them." His features and voice softens some as he reaches out his hand to push a strand of hair behind my ear. "If you're anyone's wife, you are MINE. Shannon Smythe sounds so much better than Shannon Sterling-Duval."
I gasp and my hands fly up to my face when I realize what he just said. His eyes widen when he realizes as well. "Sebastian? Did you just say you wanted to marry me?" He is avoiding my gaze as a blush creeps up his cheeks. "Yea... I guess I did. What would you say?" I turn away momentarily to turn on the water in the shower.
This is just crazy, so very crazy. He can't be serious. Can he? I look back at Sebastian and he is all expectant puppy, adorable. He sure looks serious....
"Never thought that this would happen while we're standing naked in my bathroom. And well I expect a sparkly ring and a grand gesture. But I'm pretty sure Blaine will kill you beforehand. So let's plan your funeral."
"Wait, Pretty Girl. Is that a yes?"
"Seb, that's a 'we're 17.' But in the future, of course." He smiles wide at me and pulls me in for a hug. "I knew it.... Well then let's shower Love. We've got a future to plan for." With that he pulls me into the shower with him.
Before you assume, no we did not 'do it' in my shower. Not this time. I mean we're teenagers but we're not raging maniacs. So in no time I'm sitting again on my just made bed in a pair of dark wash jeggings with Sebastian's Warbler t-shirt knotted and fitted to my figure, watching him pack up his things. I let my gaze fall from Sebastian to my own hands clasped to in my lap. My eyes flicker over the bracelet that now sits prominently on my wrist. I trace my fingers over the letters Sebastian.
When I look up again he is standing in front of me with his bag in his hand. "Sebby? Already??" He nods solemnly and takes my hand, pulling me off the bed. As we exit the bedroom he places a gentle kiss in my hair. "Princess don't be sad, you're mine. For always."
I'm smiling slightly by the time we reach the bottom of the stairs. I see Blaine sitting in the living room and he looks up when he hears us enter the room. "Leaving already?" I nod sadly pouting as Sebastian pulls me closer to him. Blaine rises from the couch to come over as we reached the front door. "She doesn't want me to go, but we both know I have to get back. So yea.... But thanks for letting me invade your house for the weekend, Killer." Blaine extends his hand for Sebastian to shake, which he does with a raised eyebrow. "Thanks for taking care of my little cousin, Bas."
I smile up at Sebastian and then look over at my cousin. I am so thankful that things are working out between them now. With a small wave we leave the house. I call over my shoulder as Blaine stands in the doorway watching us go down the front walk. "Blainey, I'll be back soon."
Sebastian leads me to his car and holds open the door for me. "Mrs Smythe.... You sure we can't just run away?" I shake my head and roll my eyes at him as I slip into his car. He shuts the door carefully and hurries to get in the drivers side. Once he is settled into the the car he pulls away from the curb and grabs my hand securely in his. We drive in silence to the Lima Bean.
My car is still in its same spot, right outside of the coffee shop. Sebastian pulls his car into the empty parking spot next to it. He turns to look into my eyes as we sit outside in his car. "Shannon, one month ago I parked right here and thought I was just going for coffee with some of the guys before Lacrosse practice. But then I met you. And everything changed." So many emotions are floating in his eyes as he stares into mine. I can already feel the tears building inside.
He senses this and looks away with a quick shake of his head. He releases his hold on my hand as he opens up his door to exit the car. Before I can grab the handle he is already standing with my door open and his hand extended to help me out of the car. "Lets go get some coffee Love." I nod and we enter the Lima Bean hand in hand.
My eyes wander around the shop and I take note of a few familiar faces. Sebastian kisses me softly and we head to the counter to place our orders. "White Chocolate Raspberry Mocha with an extra shot for my pretty fiancée. And I'll have a Caramel Macchiato." He looks at me with a raised eyebrow and I speak up. "Can we get one of those blueberry muffins too?" He kisses my hair and nods to the barista. Sebastian passes the money over and she hands me the muffin and him back the change.
We move down the next counter to wait for our coffees and I turn to face him. "Sebby, I caught what you did there..." He tries to act innocent but I can still detect a small smirk as the barista places our coffees on the counter. He grabs them and begins to walk toward a small table. "I have no clue what you're taking about Princess." I set the muffin down and slip into one of the seats. He sit across from me and passes me my cup.
"Seb, I told you I expect something sparkly. Preferably that fits on my finger. And you would need to get approval from my dad and most definitely from Blaine..." I pick up my coffee and take a sip as I see him visibly flinch and pale slightly. I reach across the table to split the muffin in half when he grabs my left hand. His eyes drift to the bracelet, his bracelet that sits on my wrist, and then back up to my face. "Pretty Girl, I promise you that when the time is right I will do just that. And a ring worthy of your beauty will join my bracelet on this hand."
I blush as he relaxes and releases my hand. We spend a few more hours in the Lima Bean, taking and enjoying our coffees. Trying to delay goodbye. But eventually the time comes when he has to leave. I let him help me out of my seat and we walk hand in hand out the door.
Soon we're standing between our two cars much like we did on Friday night. He reaches out to gently push a lock of my hair behind my ear. He lifts my chin so I can look up into his eyes. "Pretty Girl, I love you so much. I am so happy that you wanted to spend your weekend with me." I wrap my arms around his neck and pull him down to me capturing his lips in a small kiss. "Sebastian, it won't be the same without being able to wake up in your arms." He sighs and presses a gentle kiss to my forehead and then steps back to allow me to unlock my car door. "I know Shannon. And hey, I turn 18 in January so maybe..." he shrugs. "I'll make sure I do all of that before I officially ask you." I nod and smile slightly as he lets me go.
He opens my door for me as I slip into my car. "Don't worry. I'll call you as soon as I get back to Dalton." I can feel tears starting in my eyes as he bends down to give me a goodbye kiss. Softly he brushes them away with his fingertips. "Princess don't cry. Remember I'm always with you." I nod back at him and I run my fingers over the letters of his name on my bracelet. "I know Sebby. Please be safe and call me when you get back." He nods and quickly shuts my car door.
I pull out of the parking spot before I allow myself to reconsider giving a small wave to Sebastian. I can see him watching me leave before he gets into his own car and heads in the opposite direction.
I meant what I told our friends last night. I love him more than they'll ever know. And he feels exactly the same way...
