"What did you say?" Noor teased again.

Zeeshan made a face,"you were sleepy, right? So sleep and let me drive peacefully."

Noor laughed,"you have improved so much. I'm so proud of myself."

"Proud of yourself? You are such a self- centered girl!"

"Look who's talking."

Zeeshan shook his head with a smile on his face. After Zeeshan had said goodbye to his friends and Wildan they both left for home. Ever since Zeeshan came back Noor was teasing him for calling her darling. She knew that would annoy him and that's all she wanted. That's all she always wants. Zeeshan on the other hand was trying to act fine but he was getting irritated by that. He didn't want to show that because he didn't want to lose. Noor was continuously teasing and he had a smile on his face to irritate her. Noor was trying her best but when he didn't give up she gave up. Now Zeeshan was smiling because his victory when something hit his mind. His smiled slowly vanished. He looked at Noor for few seconds before looking back at the road.

"Noor."

"Yeah?"

"Some time ago." He paused for a second before continuing,"actually long time ago. Almost two weeks ago I guess. I don't remember. I saw a pregnancy kit in our room." Noor's eyes widened instantly. " Just the box actually. The kit was missing. Was that yours?" Noor was quiet for some time before slowly nodding her head. Zeeshan nodded his head as well "I assume it was not positive."

"Yeah."

"Ok but why didn't you tell me about that? I mean its not necessary to say but I'm just curious why you took it and why didn't you tell me."

"My periods were late and I was acting emotional, getting hurt on small things and everything. That day I went to the mall with the girls so they asked me, teased me about that so I thought maybe I should check and confirm. It was negative and I got my periods soon after that. I didn't tell because it was awkward."

Zeeshan smiled,"it was awkward? We talk about anything and everything and this was awkward?"

Noor smiled,"I know we share everything without any hesitation. We talk about periods so normally without being shy."

"That's is something every girl goes through. What's embarrassing in that? I really fail to understand."

"Me too! I don't say talk to any boy about that but if it's your husband then why are you shy? Anyway, that's not the point. The point is." She paused to understand what the point really was, what she wanted to say and how she should say. "I was just. I don't know. Maybe scared."

"Scared of what? You won't even get scared if an extremely scary looking alien comes to you with AK47 and tells you to kill me !"

"You know you are sounding like me!"

"I know and that sucks!"

Noor smiled widely,"I love me too!"

Zeeshan rolled his eyes,"now tell me scared for what? And also what was your reaction about the negative result."

"To be honest before taking the test I was really scared. I didn't want it to be positive. We already have our hands full and I didn't want you or anyone else think that my baby is a burden."

Zeeshan immediately parked the car before turning his face to Noor. "Why will I think of my own child as burden?"

"Don't overreact. I'm not doubting you I'm just saying. Our situation is not that good. We are short of money! Your savings are reducing day by day. And even if you don't tell me I know how stressed you are. You are acting all romantic and stuff because you don't want me or others to worry like you do. You don't want us to feel the same way. Am I wrong here?" Zeeshan did not say anything and just kept looking at her. She was right. He thought if he acted Normal everyone else would be stress free. He was scared about everyone's future especially Iiman's. He wanted best for her and with no job, he didn't see that happening. He had decided to keep fifty percent of his savings for his parents and Iiman. And he was serious about that. He was not going to use it which left him with a very less amount of money. He knew Noor was scarifying a lot. She had never seen financial crisis. She didn't have a peaceful and happy life but definitely a rich life. Her father fulfilled all her wish. Zeeshan thought he failed to do the same for her. Noor was right with her guess except for one thing. He was acting romantic because he didn't want her to worry, true but also because that always made him feel good. Whenever he was a with her he forgot his problems.  He was not acting. That was real.

"Look Zeeshan. I just didn't want to hear thank God after I said it was negative. I don't know if I would ever forgive you if you do say something like that."

"Noor why do you forget that would be by child as well and I would never ever think something like that for him. Yeah I would be worried if it was positive only because I want to give all our kids a better future and life which at this moment is not possible but that would not mean I won't be happy about that. "

"I'm sorry about that. I don't know to be honest. It's a mess in my brain. I know you will always be happy but it's just our situation. I'm really scared Zeeshan. I don't know how to react. It's really scary! What will we do if all our money is over. That thought is always makes me sick. I'm sorry but I don't know how to think any more. I never thought money would ever be a problem. The amount I have these days in my purse is less than what I gave to a beggar once. I'm not complaining or trying to insult you. I'm just giving you my reasons."

She looked away once she was done. Zeeshan looked at her for some time before taking her hands in his. "You are fine?"

"Yeah."

"I know you are suffering a lot and that's why I'm trying by best to find a good job. The reason I'm having problem is because they have problem with the reason I had to resign my last job."

"I know you are trying but why don't you talk to my friend's husband once again. Zeeshan that would really help."Noor shifted in her seat,"We will start earning money and then we won't have to take money from your parents. You find that difficult, don't you? You don't want to take money from your parents then please. Please Zeeshan. Please."

"Ok ok ok." Zeeshan said cupping her face. "I will talk to him in the morning I promise."

Noor smiled but with tears in her eyes. "Ok."

"You are fine?"

"Yes." She nodded her head.

Zeeshan smiled,"Good."

He then started his car and soon they were at home. Although it was late but Iiman was still awake waiting for her parents.

"Iiman darling what happened?" Noor asked before taking her in her hands.

"I will go and sleep now. Good night kids." naaz said before leaving for her room. Noor and Zeeshan brought Iiman to their room. Iiman was tired so soon she slept. Zeeshan had gone down for water but it had been a really long time so Noor kept Iiman on her bed and went down to see what had happened.

"Zeeshan why do you hate me so much!" Naaz shouted.

"Why do you keep bothering me?"

"Zeeshan you have to tell me now! What should I do so that you forgive me? What do you want me to do!?"

"Zeeshan enough now! Naaz go to our room." Mehmood shouted. Naaz kept looking at Zeeshan, tears rolling down her checks. Soon she went to her room leaving Zeeshan and Mehmood alone in the room. Noor was still standing on the stairs. Although they were in another room, Noor could clearly hear them. She saw Naaz going towards her room. Noor hesitated for some time but then she went behind her. Naaz was sitting on her bed and Noor was standing near the door. She was hesitating for some time but when Naaz started crying she went in and hugged her aunt.

"Phuphu please don't cry."

"Why does he hate me so much? What should I do?"

"You don't have to do anything. Your son is  being stubborn."

"It was my fault ,Noor. I ruined his life."

"No, you didn't."

"You cannot deny that Noor."

"You made a mistake but even he did the same. Many parents get divorced or separates but not everyone's child become a drug addict. You both are at fault and he is more at fault as he is still making mistakes whereas you stopped ages ago."

Naaz kept crying for a really long time. Noor was with her the whole time. After some time Mehmood came in the room. Noor stood up and left the room. She wanted them to be alone and she wanted to talk to Zeeshan as well. She quickly went to her room. She was extremely angry. She had a lot to say to him but he was not in the room. She quickly checked if Iiman was fine or not and ran back out to find him. She checked each and every room of the house but he was no where to be find. She moved the curtain to see if he was out. She found him sitting in the backyard. Noor slowly opened the sliding door and went out.

"What was that Zeeshan?"

"Noor I don't want to talk about that." Zeeshan was fighting with his mom but he was feeling guilty about that. He knew he went too far this time. He wished he would have went to his room immediately

"You have to listen Zeeshan. You are crossing your limits. She is your mom!"

"Exactly Noor she is my mom. Why did she do that to me? Why didn't she live with my father when I was suffering. When we all were suffering. Can't she forgive him for something he didn't do for me? That's how much she loves me?"

"She made a mistake Zeeshan. Even you made one."

"Because of her!"

"Because of yourself!"

Zeeshan stood up and turned around to face Noor. "What do you mean?"

"Zeeshan whatever you did was your mistake! There are many kids whose parents get divorced or like yours live separately but not everyone of them start taking drugs. Yes, she made a mistake but it was you who did not have control over your life. Do you think everyone else had a perfect life? My father didn't talk to my mom properly for eighteen years of my life. You think that was easy?"

Zeeshan didn't have anything to say. Noor was right. And he knew she was right." You made many mistakes in your life zeeshan. What should your parents do then? They should have started behaving like you. They spend many sleepless nights because of your mistakes. You want them to forgive you whatever you do but when you don't want to do the same. Your mistakes are mistakes and what about them? Have your thought about that?"

Noor was quiet for some time, trying to control her anger. She wanted to help but she didn't want to say something that would hurt him. "Even I made a mistake Zee. I used to be rude to my mom. I was so mean to her. They are our parents. How can we expect a happy life hurting our parents who did so much for us? How can we live a happy life when we made them cry. Your mom was crying now just like my mom. Zeeshan we will never be able to live a happy life if we keep hurting them. You think Allah will help us after what we did to our parents? They love us the most Zee. If you want to live a happy life then please stop doing this or else we would never be able to come out of this situation. Never!" Noor said and turning around went back to her room immediately, giving Zeeshan time to think about what she said. Zeeshan knew she was right but that hit him really hard. He always thought he was right and his mom was wrong but for the first time he realised that even he was wrong. Like Noor said she made a mistake but he made one too. He wanted his parents to forgive him for that but he did not do the same.

He could not sleep that night. After thinking for hours he realised his mistake. He was suddenly feeling suffocated. He wanted to go and meet his mom. He wanted to ask her for forgiveness. He never thought he would have made her cry. Naaz never cried in froth of him. He thought she might get hurt but cry? No, he never thought that. He could not stop his eyes from watering that night. He was really mad at himself. Guilty and ashamed.

But things are impossible to change. at least not over night. Zeeshan was guilty of his act. He wanted to ask for forgiveness but it was difficult for him to apologise especially to his mom. For next few days he did not talk to his mom and Mehmood was not talking to Zeeshan. It was a very intense atmosphere at home. Noor was the only one talking to all but others were making her feel uneasy. No one was talking to anyone. It was the most difficult week for everyone. Zeeshan tried to apologise daily but whenever he went to his parents his dad said something that stopped him. mehmood was extremely angry on Zeeshan. Everything was a mess and Noor didn't know what to do to help. Zeeshan was feeling guilty and that was eating him. So on the Sunday morning at the breakfast table he decided to end that fight.

"Mom." He finally said after hesitating for few minutes. Naaz slowly looked up to him. Noor and Mehmood was looking at Zeeshan, hoping he would not make things worse. "I'm sorry." Noor's eyes widened instantly. She looked at Mehmood. He had his eyebrows raised but his face looked calm and cool like always. "It was my mistake. I should have not said that. I should have not said all those things. I'm sorry for all that I said in all these years and for all the time you spend crying and worrying for me. I'm sorry."

Naaz could not stop her tears. She never thought Zeeshan would apologise her. She thought he would hate her forever. "It's ok. I'm sorry as well."

He went to his mother and hugged her. Naaz at first was shocked but then she hugged him back, crying her heart out. Zeeshan was still hugging her when he looked at his father, "I'm sorry."

Mehmood smiled before shaking his head. He then looked at Noor who rolled her eyes making Zeeshan smile. They pulled away and sat on the dinning table again to eat their breakfast.

"Alhumdulillah! Uff you three are so stubborn! This has to be the  worst week of my life! Why did you all stop talking to each other? And it was not my fault but no one was talking normally to me too! I mean you all were not rude but no one was talking! I cannot be quiet any more now so please don't do this again."

"That was the best part of this fight. She will start talking now." Zeeshan said.

Noor narrowed her eyes at him making others laugh. They were not perfect nor was their life perfect but they still found out a way to be happy. That was the best breakfast they ever had. Not because of what they ate but because of the people they were with.
