Chapter 11: Everything
[Three Days Later]
As I sat at my computer and typed I started to grow bored of what I was working on. I was designing a dust fueled propulsion system that would allow travel at the speed of sound. The problem was that dust didn't have the capability of propelling an object to that velocity no matter how much you used. Dust seemed solely dependent on the user's aura, meaning a normal human, or Faunus, wouldn't be able to operate the machine for more then a few minutes before their aura was drained. I sighed and stopped typing, then stood up from my computer and turned around. Standing in the doorway was Ariana. One of her eyes was swollen shut and bruised, she had a busted lip and bruises littering her skin. A few cuts and tears were on her normal White Fang clothes.
Me: "Come here."
I pointed to the chair I was just sitting. Once she was seated I held my hand out towards her.
Me: "Greater Healing."
A golden light appeared in my hands as her wounds began to heal.
Me: "What happened?"
Ariana: "Some thugs..."
Me: "Jumped you on the street?"
She nodded.
Me: "You need to be careful. You aren't strong enough to-"
Ariana: "I know (Y/N)... I'm not strong enough to do anything like you. No one is."
I finished healing her then began looking through my inventory.
Me: "You could've asked me to come with you. Wherever you were going."
Ariana: "I thought you were still mad at me..."
Me: "Why would I be mad?"
Ariana: "I slapped you."
Me: "So? I've been stabbed and still forgave the person. It's called a Pacifist run."
I dropped a few items from my inventory. Clothes, dresses to be precise. Ariana looked at them and turned to me confused.
Ariana: "Why do you have girl clothes?"
Me: "They belonged to a companion of mine. I couldn't bring myself to throw them away."
The dresses were expertly crafted by me. Intricate black and white lace designed most of them, they were her favorite. I turned and began walking away.
Ariana: "Who?"
I stopped.
Me: "Her name was Morrigan. I met her in... I think it was my third dimension. We traveled together for awhile until she died at the jaws of a dragon."
Ariana: "I'm sorry..."
Me: "Don't be. The past is the past."
Ariana: "Were you, you know, close?"
Me: "Are you asking if we were together?"
Ariana: "Yeah."
Me: "I have tried my hand at everything. Even love. Yes. We were. But I came to terms with my loss and I came to terms that even love was temporary and so it is useless."
Ariana: "Why is everything so pointless to you?"
Me: "Everything I do, everything I learn, everything I try, it always ends the same. With me being left with no challenge, no real competition. If you take the hardship out of life, you grow bored."
Ariana: "That's not true... hardship isn't a spice for life. You don't know what it's like, what its like to be powerless."
Me: "And you don't know what it's like to be stronger then everyone. You don't know what it's like to be the best at everything. To look at life as simple. Being all powerful is a curse."
With that I walked out the door.

I watched from the sidelines as Team RWBY and JNPR fought. They seemed evenly matched in terms of team work, but I could tell JNPR wasn't fighting at full strength, or at least one of them wasn't. Jaune was a weak fighter, but held himself decently as a leader. Pyrrha was the strongest fighter of the team, in terms of battle knowledge and technique, but she worried too much about her leader. Ren and Nora were a team all their own. RWBY was well balanced in teamwork and fighting abilities, for their level of course. Suddenly Pyrrha took a hit by blocking for Jaune, causing her to stumble back towards me. I slowly walked forward and placed a hand on her back to prevent her from falling backwards.
Me: "You're affections have no place in a practice fight. He won't get hurt. He must learn to fight for himself."
I pushed Pyrrha back into the fight and continued to watch.
Ozpin: "Skilled, are they not?"
Ozpin had entered and stood beside me.
Me: "Skilled, yes. Perfect, no."
Ozpin: "Perfection depends on the one beholding."
Me: "You're right. And to me they have much to learn."
Ozpin: "With combat? Or soul?"
Me: "Combat. The soul does not matter."
Ozpin: "I disagree. Soul is as much of a weapon as Miss Rose's scythe."
Me: "Soul cannot block a lethal blow. Aura may protect but once it's drained everyone is vulnerable."
Ozpin: "It's the strength to pick yourself back up that matters the most in my eyes. And those two teams are the strongest I've seen in a long time."
Me: "It matters not when you'll just be killed. Oppose the strong as the weak and your death will mean nothing."
Ozpin: "I see... But you were weak once, were you not?"
Me; "Long ago. Yes."
Ozpin: "And you kept getting back up when defeated, which made you stronger. Your soul refused to give up and that is what made you strong."
Me: "No one is like me. Or so I've been told."
Ozpin: "Perhaps those were the words of someone who needed help getting back up. Because they saw no way to become as strong as you."
Me: "Perhaps."

I decided to go into Vale to try to relieve my boredom, I wound up finding a nice little café to sit at. I reached into my pocket and pulled out my phone, from my original dimension. I began looking through the news and events that I had missed, which was nothing too out of the ordinary. A waitress came by and took my order then I went back to checking the news. After awhile I got bored and put my phone back into my pocket and looked around the shop. It wasn't crowded but it wasn't barren either, there was a steady flow of people coming in and going out. As I looked around one girl caught my eye, she was very short, had pink and brown hair, and wore a white jacket with a pink interior, brown pants, black gloves, and black and white boots with very high heels. She looked like she was trying to use sign language to talk to the waitress, but the waitress had no idea what it meant. I slowly stood up and made my way to the table then looked to the short girl and signed.
[Conversations in sign language will be in italics and bold]
Me: "What are you trying to order?"
The girl looked at me surprised for a moment then told me what she wanted.
Me: "She wants a iced chocolate latte with whipped cream and vanilla flavoring."
The waitress thanked me then hurried off, most likely embarrassed. I looked over to the girl and gave her a thumbs up then went back to my table. As I sat down I notice the small girl walk over and sit opposite me.
Me: "Need something?"
Girl: "Thank you."
Me: "No problem."
Finally the waitress brought my order and placed it in front of me. As I took a drink I noticed the girl still sat across from me. I set my drink down and once again signed.
Me: "Anything else?"
Girl: "No. I'd like to get to know you. You seem nice."
Me: "I'm not nice. Trust me."
The girl didn't communicate for awhile as I drank my drink and people watched. Suddenly the girl tapped my arm to gain my attention, this time she held up a notepad, why didn't she just use this before? The notepad read. "What's your name?"
Me: "(Y/N). Why didn't you just use the notepad before? You could've just written down your order."
She flipped the page and wrote down, "I borrowed it from that waitress just now."
Me: "A thief, huh?"
The girl smiled and nodded slightly. She wasn't exactly bashful when admitting her occupation.
Me: "Taught yourself?"
She nodded.
Me: "I'd say you were a good thief, if you would've noticed me take this."
I held up the girl's wallet. I had used telekinesis to sneak it out of her pocket a moment ago. The girl looked at me stunned, then looked to her pocket and back again to me. She then snatched it out of my hand and stuffed it into her pocket once again. The girl quickly wrote down, "How'd you do that?" With a small surprised face beside it.
Me: "Magic."
The girl rolled her eyes and flipped to a new page then wrote "Fine, don't tell me."
