Backstory Synopsis
Growing up, Benton always wanted to be like his dad; strong, confident, and most importantly, a police officer.  He trained for so long to become an officer that by the time he was ready to be tested for the job, he was hired as an officer in the small town of Firebutton at just 21 years old.  There, he quickly realized there were many more crimes going on behind the scenes.  One day, while helping stop a robbery on a grocery store, Benton met Riley, who immediately caught his eye as the sneakiest yet somehow dumbest individual he'd ever met.  He ran into Riley over and over again, more than any of the other criminals, and their relationship grew into an odd love-hate relationship that neither of them minded one bit.

• Benton has never once been called his real name by Riley, as Riley likes to call him Benny just to piss him off

• Benton uses a handgun that was passed onto him by his father when he was a teenager.  He never used it often until he joined the police force

• Benton was given free handcuffs as part of his job, but he has plenty of them lying around in his house for "no real reason"
