Chapter 51

"Come in," I manage to say as a constant knock jolts me awake. The sound of someone striding toward me in high heels as the door opens is audible to me.

Considering how valiantly this individual is attempting to distract my attention, indicates that it is likely my sister.

The light is then turned on and I completely open my woozy eyes to see the sun's rays blazing through my window.

I turn over on my bed, now resting on my back and stretching my arms, and Olivia's voice follows, "I hope you are not having any paper this morning for you to still be sleeping by this time."

I can already feel my morning wood from within my jockey trunk. It's so obvious that I hurriedly get up and cover it with my blanket.

She smiles broadly at that.

"The sun isn't the only thing that rises in the morning," She adds, and I roll my eyes, putting my head against the headboard.

She is dressed in a classy gown and heels. Together with the diamond jewelry she wore and the LV bag, she is holding, her curly wig that was affixed to her hair looked good on her.

Her perfume smells excellent on her as well.

Olivia and I hardly see or speak these days because I am rarely home during this exam period and she is equally busy with her job. When I came yesterday, she and dad had already turned in for the night.

"How are your papers going?" She inquires, as she sits near me on the bed, facing me.

I reply, "Just one paper left."

"Wow! Finally, "She seems amazed, and I nod in agreement.

"Mom called," When she continues, I make a loud groan. "I'm embarrassed that I'm here and don't even know what's going on between you and dad,"

"Can we please not talk about this?" I frown, glancing at her.

"Why?"

"Because you're going to be late for work and it's too early for this,"

"I know right, yet, I came here, indicating that I know what I'm doing." She argues and I shake my head.

"Maybe you should go and see dad then, he was the one snitching on me after all," I retort, and she sighs.

"I know it's about this election, and we, his kids of all people have no cause to question his competency,"

"Really?" I respond by sneering.

"He has made every effort to save you and Me any pain, so when he now needs our unwavering support, we shouldn't think twice about giving it to him," She admonishes. "No one is a saint, and no one is flawless, but I trust our old man. He'll do well in his regime, it's only that I'm concerned about his relationship with Tracy."

I alter the subject by saying, "It makes me think of you and Jeff."

The fact that humans make mistakes does not excuse what my father did.

Even if we forget about the crime he did in the past, what about his presence, which will shape the future?

She managed to respond, stammering, "It has...nothing...to...do...with...our...discussion."

"Yes, but don't you think I should know what's going on between you two?" I answer. "Are you back with him?" I add, keeping my eyes fixed on her as I am trying to read her face.

"Nothing needs to be known." She responds in a collected manner, which convinces me they are reuniting. Yeah, she gets to make that decision, and I hope she won't regret it when she learns more about Jeffrey.

"I'm off to work," she says, rising to her feet.

"Have a great day, sis," I reply, and she brightens.

"You too, kiddo," She says as she bounces out of my room.

I need it, of course. Simply having a great day today is all I want.

I slide out of bed, stretching my arms and legs. I get down on all fours, breathing as I gently bend my elbows and lower myself to the floor, then exhaling as I tighten my chest muscles and push back through my hands, returning to the starting position.

After completing 10 repetitions, I stand up and grab my phone and a bottle of water that is sitting on my nightstand.

I sipped from the water before unlocking my phone and swiping to my WhatsApp to read my messages. Tracy's message piqued my interest.

You already know where to locate me.

That is her answer to my apologies from yesterday.

"Great!" I exclaim with joy. This is a signal to begin a wonderful day. I leave my phone on my bed and dash to the bathroom to take a refreshing shower, feeling good.

********

Right now, I am outside Tracy's room waiting for her to answer the door for me in my printed loose t-shirt, cargo joggers, and high-top Nike sneakers.

When she eventually answers the door, I see her in a small towel and can see that she has just lotioned her body, detecting a body lotion's scent.

"Hi," I greet her as I enter.

"Hello," She replies closing the door and I look around, realizing she is the only one in the room. I move over to her reading chair and discover some type of cosmetics on her reading desk.

"I'm sure you're not here to criticize me," she adds as she sits on her bed, facing me.

"That's the last thing I'll do. "I'm sorry," I say flatly, my eyes begging.

"Apology accepted, so why are you here?" she retorts, crossing her knees.

"I'm planning to sell my whip," I say, and she lifts her brows in surprise.

"Why would you want to sell that car?" With a shrug, she exclaimed in alarm.

"I want to assist you," I say, and she giggles slightly.

"How does this differ from the criticism you gave me the other day?" She debates.

"It's different. I sincerely want to be of help this time."

"I don't need your help," I let out a sigh as she disagrees. "You're not selling your whip because of me. No way. I assured you I was alright and I made the decision to be with your father." She adds and rises to her feet, throwing her arms about her chest.

"It was because you had no option," I tell her and I get to my feet as well, approaching her while she faces away from me. "You went to him for aid, but he only offered sex, and you had no option but to accept his offer. That is exactly what happened."

I am closer to her at this particular time.

"But I don't regret it," She lets out.

"Really?" I croon into her ear from behind her. "You don't regret sleeping with him for money, deep down, do you?" I pose a logical query. "How much freedom do you actually have with him?"

"This is my life, what do you want? What exactly are you attempting to accomplish?" She responds, turning to face me so that we are now staring directly into each other's eyes.

It shows she is disturbed by my questions.

"I only want to put things right, that's all I'm trying to do." I make it apparent to her, and despite the tears welling up in her eyes, she giggles a bit.

"Oh! You think selling your whip would solve all my troubles, Saviour of the World?" She says in a mocking tone.

"Certainly not," I reply, smirking. She then veers to sit on her bed and stares at the floor as I continue, unsure whether I'm behaving a bit over the top.

"But maybe it will stop you from doing what you have no alternative for," I add.

I need to express my thoughts.

"You told me my father does narcotics and launders money in real estate, you once claimed he is not who I think he is. I'm also sure you overheard or eavesdropped on Ren's father from him. All I'm trying to prove is that my father is capable of assisting you without fucking you. He would rather have you work at his hotel, home, or any other lawful business I'm not familiar with, but he opted to simply offer you sex. Like Jeff and Ren's father, you are his victim,"

Before I continue, I sit next to her and make an effort to breathe while she remains silent.

"The expense of living is rising daily, and it's difficult to get a high-paying job in this country. If we had unselfish and competent leaders, the number of medical bills, including your mother's chemo treatment, would not be so high. Now that my father wants to take over the state, don't you think it would be worse and everyone would be his victims, evidently except for his family?"

"What do you want me to do?" Finally, she lets out a whiff.

"Nothing," I answer. "Just let me help you and I'm sorry if I have said trash to you..." I am saying and she cuts in.

"You're right, your father is dangerous," she adds, and I raise my brows in surprise as she glances into my eyes for confirmation.

I respond, "You can talk to me".

"You have said it all," She shrugs as she rises to her feet, looking glum. "I'm running late for my exam,"

"OK, I should leave," I say as I stand up. I start stepping out of her room as she keeps mute, searching her closet.
