Chapter Twelve: Persuasions
Persuasions
3rd Person
The Inquisitor paced his quarters, with his hand up against his chin. He could feel something in the Force, something odd... The boy wasn't the only Force-sensitive one on this star destroyer. He could sense it.
The Force was strong with the girl. If he couldn't get the boy to join the Dark Side, perhaps he could convince her.
The Inquisitor used the Force to open his door and then headed towards the cell where the girl was being held. He knew that she was weak and vulnerable. He could use his influence to turn her.
He approached the cell. There were two storm trooper stationed outside, they were armed. The Inquisitor opened the locked door using the Force and entered. There, he found Ingrid. She was sitting in the corner of the room with her knees pulled up to her chest. She had her head buried in her hands.
He smirked. He could tell that she was scared. He could feel it.
And he loved that feeling.
He walked over to her and she looked up. When she realized that it was the Inquisitor that loomed above her, she quickly stood up and backed as far away as she could. Ingrid didn't want to show fear, but she couldn't help it. She was afraid.
The Inquisitor smirked. "Are you afraid, young one?" He asked her. She didn't reply. She was afraid. The Inquisitor was quite pleased with this. He knew that with her afraid, he could easily persuade her to join him.
"I know you are. I can feel your fear." The Inquisitor said. "But do not worry, all of your fear could disappear."
Ingrid looked at him. "I-it could?" She asked.
"Yes."
"H-how?" Ingrid inquired.
"Join me. Join the Dark Side and you will feel no more pain, or fear, or loneliness." The Inquisitor said.
Ingrid squeezed her eyes shut. She couldn't do that! She couldn't betray her friends! She couldn't betray Kanan!
She couldn't betray Ezra.
"Join me, young one, and I can help you go home. I can help you see your family again." The Inquisitor tried.
Suddenly, all of her thoughts of betraying her friends vanished. She could only think of her home planet of Naboo and of her family. Ingrid remembered the planet's lush forests and beautiful waterfalls and cities. She remembered the sunlight that made her feel warm and hopeful and so full of light.
When she had been forced to leave her wonderful home world, all of those feelings went away. She no longer felt warm or hopeful, but cold and full of despair.
She looked down at her feet and then back up at the Inquisitor. "M-my family?" She asked. "You can help me see them again?"
"Of course I can, young one." He replied. "If you join the Dark Side, you shall see your friends and family once again."
Ingrid looked down again and took a deep breath. She didn't want to betray her friends, but she also wanted to see her family again. She looked up at the Inquisitor.
"What would I have to do?" She asked.
The Inquisitor smirked. "Just do exactly as I say and you will see your family again."
***
Ezra was lying on the floor of his cell. He could feel Ingrid. She was afraid, she was very afraid. He closed his eyes.
Why couldn't he reach Kanan? Normally the two of them could communicate through the Force, but for some reason... it wasn't working.
Kanan? Kanan, can you hear me? Kanan! He tried again, but got no response from his master. Ezra sighed and sat up. He leaned against the wall and winced. His wounds weren't going to heal any time soon, it seemed.
The lightsaber slashes hurt terribly. He hoped that his friends would find them soon so that he could start healing. But he could hold out for a little while longer. He knew he could.
Suddenly, his cell door slid open and he saw two figures standing in the doorway. They stepped into the room and Ezra saw that the two figures were the Inquisitor and... Ingrid.
She appeared to be unharmed, Ezra observed. But... something was wrong. He could feel the cold... he hated the cold. It meant the Dark Side.
He looked at Ingrid... what was she doing?
"Now, my young apprentice, take my lightsaber and strike him down." The Inquisitor said as he held his lightsaber out to Ingrid.
Ezra's eyes widened. "I-Ingrid? What are you doing?!" He demanded.
Ingrid ignored him as she took the Inquisitor's lightsaber from him and held it up. She only ignited one side of the saber and held up the red blade. The glow from the saber radiated off of her face, which made her look menacing.
Ezra looked at her. "Don't do this! You aren't like him, Ingrid!" He exclaimed. Again, she ignored him and began to walk towards him with the lightsaber in her hands. "Ingrid!" Ezra tried.
Ingrid got as close to Ezra as the room would allow and then held the saber up. Ezra turned away, he couldn't believe this was happening. He was going to die.
He was actually going to die.
And it was going to be by Ingrid's hand.
[Big cliffhanger, huh? I hope you liked it.
Sorry about the long wait for the update. I've been busy with school and such, but I'm going to try to update more often.
Also, sorry that this chapter was so short.
May the Force be with you all!]
