*Sonic's POV*
"You stupid fucking idiot!" Spike shouted when I walked inside my old home and then I got tackled with a hug from Lucy as she cried. Everyone was gathered here.

"Whoa. Hey." I laughed softly and hugged Lucy back. She pulled away and then slapped me taking me off guard. It was out of character for her to be this angry but she soon covered her mouth in shock of what she had just done. Shadows ears went up and he didnt know what to do since he didnt like me getting hurt but he also knew Lucy didnt mean to do that. He simply grabbed my hand and pulled me back.

"I am so sorry." She said but Amy laughed behind her.

"Its okay, he scared everyone here. Its normal to act that way." She defended her new boss.

"I was just so worried when Manic told us you got hurt and said you werent waking up!" She sighed and looked down. I smiled and chuckled softly as a response.

"Its okay." I reassured her, for some reason, this reaction out of her brought me comfort. She cared. She cared enough to hurt me because I nearly died.

"So what now?" Shadow asked me later that night as we sat down on top of the roof just like the last time we were back in this town.

"I dont know." I shrugged as I looked up at the stars.

"You are not leaving again, are you?" Tails said as he flew up to the roof and handed me a beer. "Your friend Spike is wrestling Knuckles for some beer." He laughed as he sat down beside me. Shadow had an arm wrapped around me, he was not letting me out of his sight.

"I mean I have to go back home, I have a job but I wont lose contact anymore. Rouge said she is going to open up a beauty salon in the town I live in to be closer to us too. Amy works with Lucy now and lives in town as well. But its not like Knuckles will leave the island, Mephiles and Silver will leave their home either."

"So we are still separating?" Tails lowered his ears. I hummed and shook my head.

"We all have our different lives now. That doesnt mean we have to separate or stop seeing each other." I patted his back then rested my head on Shadows shoulder. "We grew up, part of that means we have to live our own lives. But we are still friends, we are more like a family, actually. There will be no more goodbyes." I grabbed his hand and Shadows as I dragged them back down to everyone.

"What are you doing?" Tails asked as i let go of both Tails and Shadow then cleared my throat.

I looked at all my friends, Mephiles and Silver with their baby, as Silver tried to get Blaze to carry her. Amy and Lucy baking a cake in the kitchen with Vanilla, Cream and Cheese. Knuckles was wrestling Spike as Scourge and Manic cheered on the sides while holding money. Rouge beside Shadow, teasing him about him not wanting to let go of me and Tails, my best friend waiting to see what I was doing.

"All these years I thought I was better off being out of your lives." I started talking with a soft smile then looked down at the beer I had in my hand. Everyone turned to look at me, before they could say something, I kept talking. "I thought I would bring back the trauma, all the memories of everything that we went through because I needed a team to fight off Eggman. So I left. But while it was stupid for me to do so, I dont regret it."

"When I first got into town, Lucy was barely opening her cafe and I had nowhere to stay. My boss is actually her dad and she was the one that got me the job there, how could someone so sweet be related to someone as annoying as my boss, beats me but I thank Lucy for what she did for me. Spike snapped me out of my mental break downs at work and kept me busy trying to defend him when he could have done it alone. He kept breaking into  my house to check in on me, I was still healing from everything that happened while we all lived here." I sighed.

"I am going to go back to my new home, where Lucy now has hired Amy, and Rouge will soon be moving to open a beauty salon in town. Shadow and I live together and work together too, thats where my new life is. Which means some of us will split but it doesnt mean we will lose touch or this has to be goodbye again."

Shadow was looking at me, proud to hear me say this. His gaze was soft and I could see a slight smile start to form. Chaos, I love him.

"This isnt a goodbye again, I promise. I am thankful to have all of you back in my life and you guys have to deal with it because I am not leaving again."I laughed softly earning everyone to chuckle and nod.

"To new beginnings?" Tails shrugged as he liften up his drink. The last toast we said together. "This time together."

I smiled and walked closer, now holding Shadows hand again. "To new beginnings."

We clinked our drinks together and cheered.

I finally had them back.

I feel like I am going to have to add Spike and Lucy in future books from how much you guys like them 😅 especially Spike.

I hope you guys enjoyed this story! I had said from the beginning I wanted a story where it had fluff and little to no drama. The plan was for it to just be a story where they just reunited but I got bored and decided to add Eggman back into the story. Sorry for scaring you guys 😂
