*Sonic's POV*
"When did you install cameras?" I gasped when I went to meet up Spike and Lucy for breakfast in the morning, and Lucy showed me the video of Shadow kissing me. My face was completely red, and I immediately covered my face.

"Is this why you wanted to close up? You could have told me." Lucy asked as Spike laughed loudly behind me.

"She caught you on camera, man." He held his stomach as he laughed, then cleaned the tears that had come out. "At least it didn't go further."

"Oh my." Lucy gasped and covered her mouth at that. "Was that your first kiss with Shadow?"

"It was. I wasn't expecting him to kiss me." I groaned and put my head down. "Our walk home was awkward and silent. It was as if he found the button to shut me up. I couldn't make out any words." I sighed.

"Where is he anyway?" Spike asked as he patted my shoulder.

"Stop it. You don't want to mess with him. He may have changed, but he still has an attitude sometimes and will attack you if you get on his nerves. He is already on edge with you." I chuckled as I looked up.

"Me? Why?" He scoffed as he rolled his eyes.

"I've noticed he gets jealous but doesn't act on it much." I shrugged.

"He cares. Here. I baked something new for him to try. Let me know if he likes it. I'm still trying to figure out what he's into." Lucy said as she pulled out her pink notebook where she wrote down what we all liked and didn't like.

"Thank you. What's this?" I asked once she gave me a brown bag and opened it to look inside.

"Ooooh! Are those slutty brownies?" Spike said as he took a peak inside the bag.

"Yeah. I thought Shadow may like them." Lucy smiled.

"Okay. I got to go now before Shadow starts to wonder why I am taking so long." I took the bag away from Spike when he grabbed it to try to steal a brownie.

"I made some for you too, Spike." Lucy giggled.

"Oh, by the way, I sent the video to Shadow." Spike said as he grabbed a brownie from the tray Lucy pulled out from behind the counter.

"What? How did you even get his number?" I asked with a light blush of embarrassment across my muzzle.

"His friend gave it to me that night we hung out. She also gave me hers and said to call her if anything happened while she was gone." Spike said as he grabbed another and shoved it whole in his mouth.

"The brownies aren't going anywhere. Calm down." I laughed. "I got to go then." I dashed off after thanking Lucy.

Once I was back home, I walked into Shadow, looking at the video on his phone and covering his muzzle with one hand as he rested his elbow on the table. His ears were slightly lowered, and he appeared to be blushing. I wasn't completely sure since he was covering it with his hand. His ears perked up when he heard the door open, and he quickly turned to look at me as he put the phone down.

"Spike told me he sent you the video. Lucy just showed me." I nervously laughed as I put the brown bag in front of him and the other bag with our food at the middle of the table.

"Why didn't you tell me there were cameras. I wouldn't have done that." He raised a brow when he saw the brown bag then opened it when he smelled the sweets inside. I grabbed the bag away when he was about to go for one and then pointed at the food. "Fine." He chuckled and opened the food containers for us to eat as I went to grab something to drink.

"I didn't know." I said as I walked with waters to the table. "Plus, I really wasn't expecting you to kiss me."

"I wasn't either." Shadow mumbled as he started eating. "I'm sorry."

"Are you really?" I raised a brow as I sat down and started eating as well.

"No." He shook his head, making me chuckle.

"I'm not either. I liked it. I was just taken by surprise." I confessed. "Didn't know you had it in yah."

Shadow simply hummed as a response and ate the brownie when he finished.

"Hey, so I was thinking. I know it's supposed to be your first day at the bar, but why don't we go pay Knuckles a visit?" I said as I put the fork down and looked at him.

"That reminds me, Rouge said she got in contact with both Blaze and Silver. They'll be here in 3 days." Shadow mentioned while he passed me his phone and showed me the messages. "We can go if you want to."

"Okay. I'll tell Spike to tell my boss. You can start another day." I stood up and started cleaning the mess.

"How has he not fired you?"

"I bring in the most business, and he knows you will too, so we are fine." I shrugged.

I texted both Spike and Lucy that I was going to be out of town for a little while. Wasn't sure if I would be back the same day or the next, but I told them either way so they wouldn't worry. Once Shadow and I were ready, I stretched and got ready to run. The island wasn't more than three hours away from here by car, not so long for Shadow and I to get there, but I hadn't been using my speed as much as I used to. Shadow had offered to take us there, but I told him I needed the run and he understood. We dashed off soon after, Shadow immediately getting ahead but not for long because suddenly I found the motivation I had been missing all these years and was now beside Shadow.

"Thought you said you were slow." Shadow chuckled when I caught up.

"Looks like I was just missing my rival." I shrugged and got ahead of him.

It was strange going back to the town we used to live in, everything seemed the same, there were some new building in the area but other than that, it felt as if no time had passed. We decided to stop at my old house.

"I needed that." I panted lightly when we stopped and laughed softly. I could feel the excitement running through me like back then when I would race with Shadow. Except this time, I didn't get punched if he caught up. Or did I?

Shadow walked to me. He had a serious look on his face as he looked into my eyes. I couldn't break eye contact or even begin to come out with words when I saw him walk towards me that way. The thought of him hurting me had jumped out the window, knowing well Shadow wasn't that way towards me anymore. He suddenly wrapped an arm around my waist and kissed me, I immediately melted as I kissed back.

"Uhm. Sonic?" I recognized Knuckles' voice as he cleared his throat.
