*Sonic's POV *
(After defeating Eggman)
"So what are you planning to do now?" Shadow asked me as he sat beside me, passing me a beer bottle as we both looked up at the sky.

"I don't know. I just know I want to get away from here. Explore. Camp out every day. Enjoy nature. Make new friends. Live my life." I thanked him for the beer and opened it, taking a sip, feeling the cold carbonated drink go down my throat, making me take in a deep breath.

"Really? You're leaving everything behind?" Shadow asked.

"We are going to miss you." Tails said as he climbed up the ladder, peeking his head up to see us.

"You're not going with him? You two are inseperable." Shadow asked my best friend, my brother.

"Nah. Sonic needs his time alone. We've been together all our lives. I know it's going to be tough saying goodbye, but I have faith we will see each other again soon."

I stood up, extending my arms in the air as I started to feel the rain. I chugged down my beer then threw it off the roof, watching it shatter against a tree. I laughed and helped Tails up the ladder and onto the roof with us. Pulling him into a hug instantly.

"I will never forget you." I said, holding in the knot that was forming in my throat. "Ever." My voice cracked, making me let go and look back at Shadow, who was now standing up as well. "Thank you."

"Thank you?" Shadow asked with a scoff. "For what, you idiot?"

"For always challenging me." I smiled, reminding him that without him, we would have never accomplished our goal.

"You're leaving, Blue?" Rouge landed beside her best friend. She held two more beers in her hand, handing me one again. This time, I didn't open it.

"I am." I confessed. "I think it's time, don't you think?" I looked over at the city. It was nighttime, and I could only see the lights that were on and the stars shining above us. "I had a lot of fun." I didn't want to believe the day actually came.

I had planned this from the very beginning. They were good friends, the best even. The best friends I could ever have asked for.

Amy was always chasing me around trying her best to get me to date her, if she only knew I wouldn't be in her life after the battle ended. I loved her as a friend, and I made it very clear I wasn't even into girls, but she still tried. She wasn't as pushy as she used to be, while she was finding herself, she realized going after me was a dead end. She was strong, cheerful, reliable, and loyal. I was going to miss her.

Silver and Blaze hadn't been with us for long, and though sometimes we were at each other's throats, I had fun with them. Silver was fun to mess with, and with Blaze around, it was even better. They sometimes reminded me of my siblings. They were both patient, responsible, and respectful towards others.

Knuckles and I may have had our bad moments every now and then. He had his own strength and a different and interesting perspective on things, but he was strong. He was loyal and stubborn. I always had fun with him around. Tails and I always had fun messing with him.

Tails had been with me through everything since the very beginning. I was never alone because of him, and it was going to kill me having to leave him behind, too. There were not enough words to express grateful I was to have him in my life. Although we weren't actual brothers, I would always treat him like one.

Rouge had me scared half the time and the other, making me laugh until I couldn't. She was scary if you got her mad, I always had to remind myself not to get on her bad side. But she was the best. She pushed us to do better and knew how to keep Shadow under control.

Shadow and I had been getting along now. He wasn't as scary as everyone made him be, but I wasn't able to say much when I myself was scared of him at some point. We may have started things on the wrong foot, but now we were strong enough to defeat Eggman together. To actually become a team. I was going to miss him.

I was going to miss them all.

"Sonic?" I looked up when Silver called my name. We were all on the roof now.

"Sorry." I smiled and rubbed the back of my neck. I looked down at the beer in my hand and took off the cap, then extended my arm, placing the beer in front of us. "Thank you for everything, you guys." I raised my beer as everyone did the same as a cheer. "Here's to new beginnings."

"To new beginnings." Everyone said and then drank from their drinks. I hesitated and drank a bit late catching Tails attention but I raised my drink again and drank.

"I should get going." I said louder for everyone to hear me.

"We will see you soon, Blue." Rouge walked to me and hugged me. Mostly, everyone did the same except for Knuckles and Shadow.

"See you soon." They said. I wasn't sure how to tell them I would never see them again.

"Yeah." I lied. "See you soon." I dashed off.
