Chapter two
Next week Hermione had asked Harry to go buy food to far a chance to get the two Slytherins involved in the 'surprise'. "Where's Harry?" Draco asked.
"He went out. Now sit." Hermione served the two Slytherin bacon and eggs. "So tomorrow we are celebrating his birthday! I need your help. Theo can you help me decorate?" Theo gave her a thumbs up and continued eating. "Good. Draco I need you to distract Harry. You should wear a watch that will beep when it's time to come back here. Please make sure he doesn't suspect anything."
"Sure." Draco answered trying to hide his excitement.

The next day Draco convinced Harry to go to Diagon Alley with him. Draco went to his room first thing in the morning. "Wake up birthday boy!"
Harry stretched and put his glasses on. "Morning." Draco smiled at Harry and hurried him to get dressed. "What's the rush?"
"Let's go to Diagon Alley." Draco said.
"Why?" Harry asked as they walked down the stairs.
"I'm going to buy you something of your own appeal!" Draco announced.
"You really don't have to." Harry admitted serving both of them bowls of cereal. "Honestly."
"Nope, I'm not taking any of that shit. I'm going to buy you something and you'll fucking love it." Draco began eating with a smirk playing at his lips. Harry chuckled and smiled at Draco before beginning to eat.
Hermione walked into the kitchen with her hair looking wild and tissues on her robe pockets. "Harry Happy Birthday." Hermione said through a stuffy nose.
"Don't take this the wrong way but you look awful. Do you want to postpone the dinner for another time?" Harry asked standing up for another bowl.
"Yeah I think that's for the best." Hermione said. Harry turned around and Draco gave her a confused look. She smiled and winked. Draco nodded knowing they had to continue on with the plan.
"Hope you get better Hermione." Draco mumbled still not used to calling her by her first name.
"Thanks Draco. You two continue with your plans." Hermione smiled at them and began eating.
"Feel better Mione." Harry kissed her forehead. Draco saw and looked away feeling a pang. "Ready Mate?"
"Yeah sure let me just clean these up. I'll meet you outside." Draco said as if it was no big deal what just happened.
Harry nodded and walked off. Hermione looked at Draco and smirked. "Are you feeling alright Draco?"
"Yes why wouldn't I be?" Draco shrugged it off. Hermione raised her perfectly shaped eyebrow. "Fine! No I don't feel alright."
"Stop acting so jealous and go with him." Hermione teased.
"I'm not jealous." Draco lied. "Fine I am. He kissed your forehead and he barely-"
"Draco! Are you coming or not?" Harry asked.
"Go Draco." Hermione winked.
"Coming." Draco announced. Draco grabbed his wand and headed towards Harry. "Let's go." Harry nodded and grabbed his hand to apparate causing for a blush to creep onto both their cheeks. Draco let go of his hand and composed himself. Harry looked down feeling a strangely disappointed that Draco had let go of his hand but decided to not go into that. "Where do you want to go first?"
"Joke shop!" Harry said excited. Draco chuckled and put a hand on Harry's shoulder guiding him to the store.
"I should probably wait outside." Draco commented when they got to the store.
"Come in with me. Please. For my birthday." Draco sighed and followed Harry in. Immediately he saw different red heads helping out around the shop. Ginny saw them and went to hug Harry. Harry wrapped his arms around her tightly and Draco rolled his eyes feeling jealous again. Soon a group of Weasleys were hugging and greeting Harry. George hugged him tightly before giving him a box of thugs from the shop. "Thank you." They all shot glares at Draco and he just stood there trying to not make any movements that might get him killed by the siblings.
"What are you doing here Malfoy?" Bill asked.
"You're not welcome here." Charlie added.
Harry sighed, "He's with me. Not with me with me, just-"
"I'm accompanying him." Draco explained. The Weasleys looked at him and then they went back to talking to Harry who had a light pink colour on his cheeks. "By the way," Draco called their attention again, "I'm sorry for what happened and everything that I did and said."
They looked at him suspiciously. "He is sorry." Harry said. Ron nodded and extended his hand to Draco who shook it. The others followed his lead, even George. Draco seemed more relaxed but not fully. Harry noticed the discomfort on Draco's face no matter how much he tried to hide it. "We'll be going now."
The two boys walked out of the shop, Draco helping Harry with the box, and went off to see some quidditch gear. "Seems like weaslette misses her boyfriend." Draco said dryly. Harry stayed silent. "What's wrong Harry?"
Harry ran a hand through his hair. "I'm going to break up with her." Draco felt happy about it but didn't show it. "Anyway, let's continue looking around."
Draco kept buying Harry anything he wanted even i Harry begged him to stop. He would always say, "you little shit, shut your mouth. I owe you lots of birthdays so I plan to keep this going." Draco smirked in satisfaction every time he saw Harry's cheeks turn pink. Every now and then when Harry was looking at something Draco would glance at him and see how Harry's emerald eyes lit up and how his messy hair made him look adorable. Soon it was time to go back to Harry's house. "Harry I'm tired." Draco fake pouted.
"Me too." Harry admitted before taking Draco's hand to apparate.
"Surprise!" Everyone yelled when they got there. Harry let go of Draco's hand and hugged Hermione tightly knowing she was the mastermind. Ginny jumped to his arms right after causing for Draco to leave. Ron hugged Harry next and smiled happily at him. Harry turned around to smile at Draco and thank him for everything he did but he wasn't there. Harry smiled at his friends and excused himself to find Draco.
Draco was in his room "reading" a book on his bed. In reality he just stared st the pages to bothered to even read. He didn't even bother to look up when Harry entered his room. "Party is downstairs."
"I got Theo to come down now I only need to convince you."Harry admitted. "Come on. When I tell Gin, Hermione will stay neutral and comfort her to keep her from killing me with her bare hands and Ron will most likely take her side and get mad. I need someone by my side."
"Fine." Draco bookmarked the page he was on and placed the book on the bed. "Only because you're a birthday boy." They went downstairs going to the kitchen. Hermione had made pizza because she knew Harry loved it. "What's this?" Draco questioned as he sat next to Harry before Ginny did.
"Pizza!" Harry screamed with excitement. "I only ever saw it at the Dursleys'. Every time they had pizza, they only left the smallest slice with everything off and that would be what I ate. For a week most likely. I tried it out officially when Hermione was forcing me to eat." Harry explained like it was no big deal and grabbed a slice.
Ginny was going to speak but Draco beat her to it. "Those horrible muggles! They starved you!" Harry nodded. "What else did they do?"
Harry sighed. "Well my aunt would only verbally abuse me and gave me stupid things to do around the house. My uncle would physically abuse me occasionally if I messed up. Then there's my cousin who actually apologised, he would physically abuse me. All the time. Sometimes my uncle locked in my room, which I received after first year at Hogwarts. Before that I was only a cupboard under the stairs. They all said I was a freak."
"What the hell!" Theo screamed. "Not even we would have done that! And we're supposedly the bad guys." Draco nodded in agreement.
"It doesn't matter now." Harry dismissed it.
"Do you like your surprise Harry?" Ron asked trying to switch the conversation.
"Yes thank you." Harry said and began eating his pizza.
After they finished the pizza Hermione went to prepare the cake. Ginny walked over to Harry taking his hand and leading him to the living room. "I want to talk to you." Ginny said. Harry nodded for her to continue. "Harry, I think we should break up. Please don't hate me. I just... I feel like I like you more as a friend. You're great-"
"I'm going to stop you there, my ego is too fragile at this moment." Harry joked to get a smile out of her. "I could never hate you Gin. I was actually thinking that too. All I want is for you to find someone who makes you happy."
Ginny smiled happily. "Thank you Harry. I also hope you are happy with someone else. Now let's go back and let's have a Quidditch game. Slytherins versus Gryffindors."
"That's unfair." Harry pointed out.
"No it's not. You were going to be a Slytherin, remember?" Ginny winked and left Harry stood speechless walking behind.
Harry sat down and Hermione lit the candles whilst everyone sang. Harry blew the candles and got ready to take a bite when Draco and Ron pushed him in. Hermione took pictures and Theo and Ginny laughed. Harry looked up and cleaned his glasses. "You have a little bit of frosting there." Draco said laughing not bothering to point where.
"Really?" Harry asked and whipped his face with his hand and put it all over Draco's face.
Ron laughed louder. "What are you laughing at Weasley?" Draco asked playfully before throwing some cake at him.
"Cake fight!" Theo announced throwing cake at Ginny.
Soon there was no more cake to throw and they were all covered in frosting. Draco casted cleaning charms on everyone. "Let play some Quidditch!"
Everyone accioed their broom and separated into teams of three. Ginny accioed the case with the balls and they started the game. Harry's team lost by one game but it didn't matter. Ginny and Ron went home and they all showered.
Harry was extremely tired but couldn't sleep at all thinking about his parents and Sirius and Remus. He got a hoodie and some jeans and converse and went to Draco's room. "Draco?" Harry called. "Wake up."
Draco rubbed his eyes and sat up. "Go to sleep Harry. It's late."
"I can't. Can you please come with me somewhere. It's not far." Harry whispered.
"Sure why not." Draco got a sweater and put shoes on not bothering to change. "Where are we going?"
"I want to see my parents, Remus, and Sirius." Harry admitted. Draco yawned and nodded following him out. "It's not far from here. Let's walk." They walked to the graveyard and Harry sat looking at the graves of his loved ones. "Hi guys. I hope you can see me from up there like people say you can. I wish you could all be here with me today." Harry whipped his tears away and continued. "I... I really m-miss everyone." His voice cracked and couldn't continue. Harry sobbed uncontrollably.
Draco kneeled down and wrapped Harry in an embrace. Harry didn't care and sobbed into Draco's chest uncontrollably. Draco massaged Harry's back to calm him down. He felt Harry wrap his arms around his waist pulling him closer needing more comfort. They stayed in that position until Harry felt better. He looked down at Draco's shirt and saw his tear stains. Draco saw the wet marks and laughed. "Don't worry about it. What do you want to do?"
"Can we stay here for a little bit?" Harry asked in a quiet voice.
"Sure thing." Draco responded and took out his wand. "Accio Flowers." Draco casted. Soon he had flowers and put two in the graves before him. Harry looked at Draco and smiled thankful of what he had done. Draco smiled back and nodded. He missed Harry in his arms but having him smiling again was a personal achievement.
