A mother, a father, and their three year old son gets shipwrecked at sea while on a boat trip.

The mother dies from the shipwreck leaving the father to take care of their son.

The father and son are stranded on an island until they can find a way off.

When the boy is ten years old, his father dies.

The boy has to survive by himself until someone comes to rescue him. He must use the survival skills his father had taught him.

It's not until two years later, when the boy is twelve, that he is rescued and taken back to civilization.

That same year he is adopted by wonderful parents.

The only problem is the boy won't talk.
