Chapter 6
Authors Note: Hi guys! I just want to make sure we're clear on my updating schedule. If a latest chapter gets around 15 or 20 reads, I will then make the next chapter and update it :)
After school I invite Aria over. My mom is still at work. She's a lawyer and she's pretty darn good at it. I've gotten used to people awing over my new look and how they react to it, but there's one person I can't really understand yet. Marcus. Who did you think I was going to say?\
"I don't know Ari," I say grabbing some juice from the fridge. "I mean, Marcus is gorgeous, we both know that. And you know how he asked me to hang out with him, but why now? I it because of my new look? Because the Marcus before, would not even talk to me as much as this Marcus does." "You don't want him to be fake with you." Aria says. "Basically yes." Aria sighs. "Marcus is one of those people where, you can't exactly read him. I honestly think he likes you for you because he was the first person to notice your look, and identify it was you." Aria says and she gets comfortable on my couch. "I guess your right." I say. "So should I do it?" "That's not up to me." Aria says. I roll my eyes even though she's right.
"BUT!" Aria says sitting up abruptly. "He does have a girlfriend who basically hates you." She says. Damn she's right. I pretty sure Marcus meant hang out like friends so Selena shouldn't mind, and if she does, who cares. I don't owe her anything. "We're just friends so there's nothing to worry about." I say and drink my juice.
Aria stays for a while, we watch tv, make cookies, and gossip. She leaves around 6 to do her homework and I do mine too. Mom comes home at 7:30. "Hey Des." She says and kisses me on my forehead. "Hi mom." I say. Whoever came up with math I hope they're proud of all the stress it gives kids. "There are cookies on the counter if you want some." I say. "Thank you." She says and grabs one. "How did people react to your new look? I didn't get to ask yesterday." She says setting down her breifcase. "Let's just say, a lot of people are trying to be my friend." I say and mom laughs. "I hope this is what you wanted Des, but promise me you won't change too much. Your still Destiny Skai." She says and kisses me again before heading upstairs. I think about my mom's words. She's right.
Marcus didn't notice me before my make-over, and now all of a sudden he wants to hang out? No way. He's being fake and I don't tolerate fake people. So, I decide, I will not go out with Marcus.
