"And then she walked up to us like she was so threatened by me!" I say to Aria and Derrick when we slide into a booth at our favorite place to eat Buddy Burger. "She is jealous of your new look." Aria says and Derrick rolls his eyes. He's probably bored out of his mind. "Let's talk about something else." I say and look his way. "Kimberly Smitt is fxcking with the gym teacher again." Derrick says looking at his menu. "That slut she'll do anything for a good grade." Aria says and I agree. I look over at Derrick and he's not as cheerful as he usually is. He seems, down or irritated.

"You good D?" I ask him and he looks up from his menu. "Yeah, I'm fine. What are you guys going to order?" He asks. He's changing the subject, i look over at Aria who checks her phone. "I don't know but we better hurry we only have 45 minutes." She says. The waitress comes and she's a fair skin girl with chestnut brown hair in a sleek ponytail with green eyes. She takes our order but takes Derrick's last. "And for you?" She says smiling at him. Derrick pays her no mind and tells her what he wants. He hands her the menu and she grabs it but makes sure that they're fingers touch but Derrick doesn't even do anything. He hasn't even looked up at the girl.

"I'll be right back." She says less interested now and walks away. Once she does, Aria and I stare him down. "What the hell is wrong with you?" Aria asks. "What?" Derrick says laughing. "That waitress was obviously flirting with you and you ignored her!" I say. "She wasn't my type." He shrugs. Me and Aria laugh.

It's common for girls to hit of Derrick. Everytime we're out one girl at least says something to him. I guess he's just tired of it. We eat our burgers, pay, and leave to go back to school. I can't shake the feeling that something's wrong with Derrick though.

Back at school, I go to my social studies class, the one where Selena sits right behind me and is always messing with me.

She acts like we're in 2nd grade, pulls my hair, sneezes on me, all that stuff. Today was no different. I had to turn around exactly 37 times to either tell her to stop, or hit her. She made me miss my whole lesson. When the bell rings, I grab my books and walk out and Selena bumps me at the door and my books fall. What is her problem? "I guess your new look didn't work that well, your still invisible." She says and laughs. I don't even go after her, no clap back, I just get my books up and walk out the door.

I'm walking to my locker when Marcus runs to catch up with me. "Hey are you okay? I saw what Selena did to you." Aw Marcus is so sweet. "I'm fine thank you." "You shouldn't let her push you around like that." He says. I scoff. "Well I could say the same for you." I say and close my locker. "Why do you date her? I mean seriously?" I say. Marcus thinks about that for a second. "She's really not that bad." He says. "Well, when she stops messing with me, we'll see." I walk away from Marcus but he runs again to catch up with me. He's fast! "Hey well wait." He says and gently grabs my arm. "Do you wanna hang out sometime?" Marcus asks. I just smile at him, and walk to my class.
