"Thank you!"Nadia says as she closes the door behind the last kid and their mother. Nadia is Marcus's mom. She's so nice and loving. As soon as I met her I knew I would like her. Malcolm is on the couch sitting with all his presents.

"Mommy I'm rich!" He says as he lifts a $20 bill in the air. Ms King laughs.

"Yes baby you are!" She walks over to her son and kisses his cheek. "Why don't we get some cake and watch cartoons in my room!" The little boy's eyes open up. "Yes mommy!" He says and he jumps up and goes to Marcus and gives him a big hug.

Marcus returns the hug, "Love you lil man." He says and Malcolm smiles. I'm even more surprised Malcolm hugs me! "I love you too Destiny!" Malcolm says hugging my legs and my heart melts. This boy is adorable.

"Happy Birthday Malcolm!" I say and bend down to give him a small kiss on the cheek and the boy blushes. "Grab your presents." Ms King says and Malcolm obeys. "Destiny, thank you so much for helping out." Ms King says and gives me a hug. She also hands me $40.

"Ms King you don't have to pay me." I say starting to return the money. "Nonsense. Keep it." She says and grabs two plates of big slices of cake and walks with Malcolm to her room.

I put the money in my jacket and zip the pocket. "I must get the son discount of nothing." Marcus says and I laugh. I help Marcus put away plates, store cake, clean the table, toss away any trash. "Hey, there's a whole pizza here." Marcus says lifting up the box. He lifts an eyebrow at me. I laugh. "Give me some of that!" I say and rush over to where Marcus is standing.

We pull up seats, and pour ourselves some juice and talk and laugh. We must have been there for a long time because when I checked my phone it was 8:00!

"Oh my god Marcus I got to get home!" I say. "Oh shoot when did it get to 8?" He says grabbing his jacket. He begins to open the door when someone on the outside is beginning to knock. It's a female and it's so dark I can't see who it is.

I guess Marcus can because his expression is blank. "He steps back and the figure steps in.
