*David Pov*

I entered our room and threw the necktie on the floor along with the briefcase. I brushed my hair feeling nothing but irritation.

"What happened to you now?" Parul asked, and I looked up to see her rolling her eyes and typing on her laptop.

"Is that how you ask and what you do when you see the person you love is sad or even irritated?" I asked shouting at her.

"What else should I do to the person who comes home late?" she asked shrugging.

"Why is it bothering you? I came early for one month in the beginning, but you are always busy so why should I come home early?" I asked her back.

"Why are you shouting at me? I don't care when you come home. It is your choice, and it's not like you will learn what you should be with the person you love now." She replied.

"What is wrong with you Parul? Why can't you behave like some at least a girlfriend and take care of me or have some care for me?" I asked sitting in front of her.

"I can ask the same question David. You don't care what I do and don't even want to spend some alone time with me." She said putting her laptop aside.

"We go out." I said frowning.

"Yes! We go to some stupid parties and do the same like every day." She said irritatingly.

"That's what you like, right? You love to go in a car and travel in it, and we do. You don't like any simple things, and you are able to do any shopping everyday." I said with same irritation.

"Why can't you come with me for shopping and why can't we go to some places pleasant?" She asked.

"Why can't you wait for me before having dinner every day? Why can't you at least cook something for me?" I asked her back.

"I don't know how to cook." she replied glaring at me.

"And I don't like going for shopping." I too replied.

"Thank god my parents didn't pressure me to get married to you. You will be the worst husband." she said getting up.

"Not more than you Parul and I too thank the god for the same thing." I said back.

*Parul Pov*

"From past one week, I am dull in front of you and did you care even little for me?" I asked him.

"Leave that! Did you even know I was dull?" I added.

"Did you care for me Parul? I am also so much irritated regarding the work and feeling tensed." He replied.

"Why should I do that when you don't do it?" I asked him glaring.

"Then why should I when you can't?" he asked.

I went to my side of the bed and sat there just thinking about everything. We both sat quietly for a few minutes.

I remember how Adithya used to immediately care if I even say I am not feeling well, even though it was a lie I am saying.

He wanted to spend some time with me and always trying to come home early. He never cared if I don't cook and never asked me to.

He wanted to be with me, but I never cared about him or any of the things he did for me.

"She is the best thing that happened to me, and I lost her." I heard David's voice and looked up to see him.

"She always waited for me no matter how late I am and don't even have dinner to have it with me. But if I ate outside, then she would not even have that dinner." He continued.

"And he is the best thing that happened to me." I said back.

"He wanted to spend time with me and take care of me, but I never reciprocated. He gave me time and never demanded any stuff which I can't do." I continued.

"Now I miss her." He said fisting his hands.

"I too miss him." I said, shaking my head.

"I need her in my life, and I will try to get her." He said determined.

"I will also do that same because you are not correct for me, and I need him." I said lying on the bed.

"Tomorrow I will shift to my parent's home and first blend my relation with them. You can stay here and pay your rent if you want." He said switching off the lights.

"I too don't want to live here." I said and closed my eyes.

Adithya loves me right then, I am sure he will give me a chance to explain. I don't know how he is managing a life with women who love her ex-husband.

I need to get near him soon. I realized my mistake.

*Adithya Pov*

"Janice!" I called her walking outside the washroom in the evening, but she is nowhere.

I walked downstairs only to stop in my tracks to see her cutting the vegetables along with Mom and Dad is talking with her.

"What is happening here?" I asked them sitting on the chair.

"Janice is helping me to cut the vegetables." Mom replied.

"Is she going to cook?" I asked her in shock.

"No! She just asked can she help in cutting, and I let her." Mom replied.

"Oh!" I mumbled and glanced at Janice to see her smiling at me.

"So you were never interested in a business like your dad said?" Dad asked her.

"No! That is just not my thing. If I take care of business, then I will have so much work on my shoulders, but I want to have a good life and simple too." She replied.

"But that is your family business." Dad protested.

"When there are those who are better than me then why should I interfere? And tell me one thing uncle. For any business, does the person with interest is good for business or the person who has no interest in it?" she asked Dad and he just sat there stunned.

"See? That's why I didn't join. Not only me, no one should do what they don't like. This is one life uncle, and we don't know from where we will get hardships so at least we should do the things which we want as it is in our hands." She continued.

"You are right." Dad said, looking at me.

"And I shouldn't have asked you to make him join the business." he added and this time I looked at her surprised.

"He is the best police officer with complete dedication and with a great thought of serving the people. You both are lucky to have him as a son." She praised, and I couldn't help but stare at her feeling my heartbeat increasing a little.

"The food will finish in some time." Mom said after a few minutes, and then I actually looked away from her while she continued to talk with Dad.

We had dinner and started walking in the room to sleep. But when we walked inside I closed the door and pulled her to me completely making her eyes go wide.

"You are amazing." I mumbled and crashed my lips on her lips.

I kissed her showing her how I felt in those few minutes, and she kissed me back. When we both got out of breath, I released her while she just laid her head on my shoulder.

"Let's sleep." I said, taking her towards the bed and we both lay down on the bed.

"You are also amazing." She said, snuggling closer to me.

"Good night!" we both mumbled to each other and drifted off into sleep.

ok first of all i want to share a news with you guys.. "Distance b/w us" my story is being translated into spanish... i know i dont know that language and you guys too dont know... but it would mean so much if you guys can vote on that part too if you liked that story...
