Chapter 17

AN/I know it has been a while, but I seem to have gotten my inspiration back, Hopefully, it will stick around, and I am hoping to start updating my stories more regularly again. Enjoy the new chapter.

Perseus knew that Artemis and Ares pretty much hated each other, but he was curious what would end up happening if he brought Ares into the room too, so with little more than a thought on Perseus's part, Ares appeared in the room. He quickly realized where he was and paled, he'd had enough sessions with Perseus at this point that his tough guy exterior had pretty much crumbled to nothing. He glanced around wondering what Perseus was going to use on him this time. That's when he noticed Artemis and said in surprise, "You caught her!"

Grinning, Perseus replied, "Yes, she thought she could get away with snooping around my base, I proved her wrong. Now I'm trying to teach her to not be a sexist bitch,"

Perseus continued, "Why don't you sit down Ares,"

Ares was confused until he found himself sitting in a metal chair that looked to be celestial bronze which was covered in spikes. His wrists and ankles were also bound to it via shackles so he could not get up until Perseus let him. Perseus knew that Ares probably wouldn't care that Artemis was being tortured, he might even enjoy watching it, so Perseus wasn't going to let him enjoy himself too much, hence the torture chair, and soon afterwards he also began manipulating Ares' Ichor while he continued to torture Artemis. While still torturing the two gods, Perseus spoke, "I'm not the biggest fan of mortals anymore since I'm not one anymore, and one of them cost me some of the people I cared about the most, but I have to give them credit when credit is due. They have certainly been creative when it comes to inventing ways to torture and kill each other, and of course, Tartarus and I have adapted most of their methods so they will even work on gods, as you two, and Annabeth have found out the hard way.

Soon the other Olympians will join you both down here for a while until I eventually get bored of torturing you all and decide to let you all fade, but don't get your hopes up, It will be a long time before I let any of you fade, especially you Ares since you have been a pain in my ass for far too long and I have been enjoying all the time we have been spending together lately,"

Perseus tortured the two gods for a while longer, but he knew he should get back to his family, he would have more time to break the two Olympians. Ares was practically broken already, but Artemis was proving to be more difficult. That didn't really surprise him, he knew she was extremely stubborn, and most likely had a high pain tolerance due to her stint holding the sky. Despite that, he would not let her best him, and he would continue torturing her until she was a crying mess. For now, though he finally finished that day's torture session, and returned the two gods to their cells. After that, he went back upstairs to continue helping Khione with their children.

Clint, Tony and Natasha were debating what they should do next. They all knew that they would need more help if they wanted to stand a chance at defeating Perseus and his army. They knew the final battle would probably happen soon; they just weren't sure exactly when. They were considering calling some of the other Avengers since the next battle would probably be in Manhattan rather than in one of the demigod camps. They weren't even sure if more of the Avengers in the battle would make that much difference or if they would just be calling their friends to come to their deaths. They knew they would have to do something because they were sure that their chances of winning were slim to none if they just did nothing. Unfortunately, they had no idea where Thor and Bruce were, the two Avengers that might actually stand a chance against Perseus, but if they called most of the other Avengers maybe that would help. They kept discussing their situation for a while before they eventually made up their minds.

Most of the demigods at the two camps were preparing for the battle that they knew would most likely happen soon. Most of the demigods who were refusing to fight were still training but they had no intention of fighting in the upcoming battle. The camps had essentially split into two factions. The campers who were still determined to fight, and the others who wanted to do what Perseus had said and stay out of it.

Reyna had tried to convince all her Romans to keep fighting, but some of them just outright refused. Much the same had happened at Camp Half-Blood, Chiron had given up on getting all the campers to fight. The majority were still planning on fighting but quite a few were adamant about not fighting in the upcoming battle. R

Chiron wasn't even certain anymore that Fighting Perseus was what they should do. Will had informed him that Perseus' army included demigods, monsters, minor gods, and possibly even multiple Primordials, and because of that, he just couldn't imagine them winning. The Romans who were willing to fight had come to New York so they would be there to help once the battle started. The Amazons had come as well, and he had contacted the Party Ponies so they would help once the battle started. All of Artemis's hunters were determined to fight partially out of a desire for revenge and partially to get Artemis back.

The Avengers had also contacted some of their allies, and they would be in New York ready to fight when the time came, with the exception of Thor and Bruce Banner, since the other Avengers still had no idea where they were. In the meantime, the Avengers gave their allies the Greek mythology is real talk so they would better understand what they would be up against. It wasn't that hard for most of them to believe considering they already knew about Thor and the other Norse gods so another pantheon existing wasn't that hard to believe.

Despite having all these forces on their side, the Olympians and their allies still weren't certain they could win. The sheer power Perseus had shown during the council meeting and the battles that had followed made them realize that he might be a primordial, and if that was really the case, their chances of winning were slim considering that only one of the demigods who had defeated Gaea, remained at Camp Half-blood, the rest had joined Perseus. Frank Zhang, Hazel Levesque, and Jason Grace were the only members of the seven who hadn't died or betrayed the gods, and only Jason had played a part in defeating Gaea. Frank and Hazel had helped a bit by keeping Leo's plan a secret. But during the battle they stayed on the ground and fought Gaea's monsters rather than facing the goddess herself. Regardless, the battle was still several days away although the gods, demigods, and Avengers didn't know that yet. Perseus had delayed it so Khione could recover from giving birth. So once it happened she would also be fighting in the battle.

................................

When he wasn't with Khione and their children, Perseus was either torturing Ares and Artemis or checking on his forces to make sure they were going to be prepared for the upcoming battle. Perseus and Khione were both looking forward to the battle, where they would finally usurp the Olympians. In the meantime, they entertained themselves in other ways.

Once the day of the battle came, Perseus couldn't help but be reminded of the two previous wars he had fought in, but especially the second Titan war. Mainly due to the fact that their strategy was a bit similar to Kronos'. They also got Hecate and Morpheus on Their side as well as Cronos, the primordial of time. Considering that most of the primordials were helping them in one way or another Perseus figured that the Olympians were pretty much screwed. Perseus also knew that Thanos was in the process of collecting the last few infinity stones, and if the Avengers were foolish enough to get Vision to help them with this battle, Perseus might just get another stone for Thanos, and if that magician noticed the battle, that could be another Thanos wouldn't have to fight for. For now, though Perseus would focus on his most important mission, getting to Olympus and capturing several of the gods and slaughtering the rest.

The very thought of what was to come brought a malicious grin to his face, he glanced at Khione, who stood by his side, and she smiled back at him, just as eager for the battle as he was. While they went into battle, they had left some sea nymphs in charge of looking after their newborn children.

Rather than entering the city via bridges, tunnels, or boats, Perseus had basically said, fuck that, and instead, he had used his water powers, solidifying a large chunk of the east river until he and the rest of his forces had all crossed it. Sure they could have just crossed using the various bridges and tunnels, but what Perseus had done allowed them to stay together, rather than having to divide his forces between the different entrances like Kronos had. After he had returned the river to normal, Perseus noticed a head popping out of it and quickly recognized it as the seal-like god of the East River. He was probably wondering who was manipulating the waters of his river. He didn't come out of the river, he simply stared at Perseus with a confused expression on his face.

Perseus Spoke, "East, if you are confused about who I am, I was the demigod who came into the bay and asked you and Hudson to sink the boats carrying Kronos's forces, However, in the years since then my opinions have changed, and my power has also grown, I'm sure you can tell that I am no longer a mere demigod. It would be unwise for you to interfere in the battles that are about to happen,"

Perseus turned away from the River, in preparation for continuing on towards Olympus, just before he continued on, East finally spoke up, "What made you turn against the gods?"

While beginning to walk away, Perseus simply replied, "Surviving Tartarus can do that to you,"

The river god had no response to that.

Unbeknownst to Perseus, the god of the East river wasn't the only one who had noticed Perseus and his forces, he would meet the Olympians and their allies in battle shortly, but they weren't the only ones who had noticed Perseus's arrival.
