Malia's Pov

I left Zed and the aliens to go meet up with Addison and Bree at Zita's trash fire pizza.

When I got there I saw Addison and Bree and they saved me a seat. I sat with them and waited for mine and Addison's order to come.

Stacey and Lacey were here but they were sitting at a different table a few feet away from us.

Bree was eating her pizza and drinking her soda while Addison and I were just drinking our sodas.

"Everything's all set for cheer practice tonight, captain" Stacey smiled.

She set both mine and Addison's plates down in front of us, causing the both of us to smile at her.

"Great. Thanks, Stacey" Addison smiled.

Stacey smiled and nodded before walking back to her table to join Lacey.

I smiled and turned around, only to let out a loud scream when I saw A-spen standing in front of me.

This made Addison scream as well as A-spen joined in on the screaming.

"Fear. I recognize that emotion" A-spen smiled.

I sighed and shook my head, placing my hand over my chest.

Addison simply smiled at A-spen and shook her head before A-spen took a seat across from us.

"Oh great leader of cheer and friend Malia, I need your help" A-spen said, looking at both Addison and I.

"Yeah, of course" Addison nodded her head.

"What's up?" I asked.

"I have a feeling I cannot define. My palms are sweaty, and it feels like space moths are in my stomach" A-spen explained.

"Space flu" Bree smiled.

Addison and I chuckled and shook our heads at her before looking back at A-spen.

"I think you have a crush, A-spen" Addison smiled.

"Crush?" A-spen asked, confused, while placing her hands together.

"No, um, it's when you like-like someone. You know, love. When you connect with someone in a really strong way" I explained.

Just explaining the meaning of a crush makes me smile as Wyatt appeared on my mind.

He always appears on my mind and it just makes me so happy, so giddy, because that's how much I love him.

"And desire, somewhat irrationally, to be with them?" A-spen asked.

"Yep" Addison nodded.

"Yes, that is it" A-spen smiled.

"Who's the lucky person?" Bree asked, smiling.

A-spen opened their mouth to say something but Addison beat them to it.

"Please tell me you don't have a crush on a werewolf. Cause let me tell you that my best friend is dating one and she can get jealous a bit easily" Addison said, pointing to me.

This made me glare at her, I turned to glare at Bree when I saw her nod her head in agreement.

I mean, I know I can get jealous easily, but there's no need to tell A-spen that.

"Oh, do not worry, I have a crush on a zombie" A-spen smiled.

A sigh of relief escaped my lips and a smile formed on my face.

But I turned around when I heard Bree let out a shocking gasp.

"Oh! Bonzo is so not available. Hey, hold my glasses, Addy" Bree angrily scowled.

She took her glasses off and handed them to Addison before curling her hands into fists.

I quickly held my arms out, trying to stop Bree, because she actually looked ready to fight A-spen.

"I love Zed" A-spen quickly said, their eyes wide in slight fear.

This made Stacey and Lacey let out loud shocking gasps.

My eyes widened and my jaw dropped as a gasp escaped my lips.

Addison and Bree's eyes widen as they glanced at each other before Addison handed Bree her glasses back.

"Uh, you love Zed?" Addison asked, shocked.

A-spen smiled and nodded their head while Addison shook her head.

"Uh, A-spen, um, I love Zed" Addison slowly said, a smile appearing on her face.

This made Bree and I smile softly at her, I turned around to see Stacey and Lacey smiling.

"Aw. That's so cute" Stacey smiled.

"We both love Zed. How wonderful" A-spen smiled.

They leaned in to hug Addison and Addison hugged them back.

"Yeah, you can't like her boyfriend" Lacey said.

"One must control who they love?" A-spen asked, tilting their head.

Stacey and Lacey nodded their heads, while Addison shook her head and looked at A-spen.

"Uh, well, no. You can't control love. But Zed and I are a couple, and we wanna be together for-" Addison started, only for A-spen to cut her off.

"Forever?" A-spen asked.

"Well, if he gets into Mountain College then, yeah, forever" Addison smiled, nodding her head.

Stacey, Lacey and Bree smiled at her, a chorus of 'aws' escaping their lips.

I frowned when I saw the sad look on A-spen's face, they were clearly upset.

But then the sad look disappeared as a smile appeared on their face.

"Or maybe he will not get in, change his mind, and love me when you go away" A-spen smiled.

This made my face fall in shock, the other girls were in the same boat as me.

Addison chuckled, quite awkwardly for that matter, before shaking her head.

"Uh, yeah, um, let's talk about this after practice" Addison suggested.

"Practice. Sounds fun" A-spen smiled, nodding their head.

"Yeah, and we'll show you why the Mighty Shrimp are the best cheerleaders in the galaxy" Bree smiled, snapping her fingers.

Stacey and Lacey smiled, flipping their hairs.

Addison and I smiled and nodded, fist-bumping each other.

At Cheer Practice

It was time for cheer practice, the girls and I met up with the other cheerleaders.

A-spen had left earlier than us to meet up with their alien friends since they were all participating in the cheer off.

So now we were all huddled together as we decided to watch the aliens practice their cheer dance.

Silence.

Absolute silence.

They were so fucking good. Like, awesome.

I swear if Audrey were here she would be freaking jealous at how good their performance was.

Addison and I glanced at each other before hesitantly clapping. Soon the others followed, quite hesitantly as well.

The aliens smiled before walking towards us.

A-spen, A-li and A-lan stood in the front, causing Addison and I to smile at them.

"Our telepathic groupthink makes cheer so easy" A-li smiled.

"Yes. We are even better than you, and you've practiced your whole life" A-lan smiled.

This made the others gasp, clearly shocked and offended by what they said.

Addison and I glanced at each other, our lips pressed into thin lines, unsure of what to say.

Neither of us wanted to admit that what they said is true. 

We've all done cheerleading for nearly our entire lives yet they come here and prove to us their amazing skills.

"So fun. Thank you for inviting us" A-spen smiled.

Addison and I just nodded, not really sure what else to say.

The aliens flashed us smiles before walking past us, most likely to head out since they were basically done.

A-lan walked by, but then he stopped and turned to me, causing me to turn to him.

"Good luck with practice, friend Malia. I know you'll do great" A-lan smiled.

Despite the fact that I was upset, a smile formed on my face as I nodded at him.

"Thank you, A-lan. That means alot" I softly said.

A-lan sent me one last smile before turning around and walking away.

When they were gone Addison and I looked at each other before nodding our heads as we stood in front of the others.

"Hey, it's us against them, and we are going to win" Addison said.

"Yeah, we're not going to let them take what's ours" I nodded.

"Like the Seabrook Cup" Bucky said.

"Right, the Seabrook Cup" Addison smiled.

"Go Seabrook!" all of us cheered.

"Yes. That's the spirit" I grinned.

"See. Your squad just needed a common enemy to motivate you" Bucky said.

This made me and Addison sigh in exasperation, shaking our heads.

I like Bucky, he's my friend after all, but I swear he can be a bit much sometimes.

"No. We are going to win because this squad loves each other, not because we hate anyone else. It's not who we are" Addison explained.

Bree and I smiled at her, extremely proud of her.

Addison being cheer captain is good for her because everyone knows that cheerleading is her passion.

"This cheer off is our last chance to cheer together, we have to win" I said.

"Exactly. And to win it, we have to try a triple hip-hop double tuck lindy" Bree said.

This made my eyes widened in shock. Addison following my lead while everyone else gasped in shock.

A triple hip-hop double tuck lindy is one of the hardest moves in cheerleading.

People that have done it get seriously injured and sent to the hospital. I don't think anyone has been able to do that move without hurting themselves.

Very few people have because like I said, it's really hard.

"That move's impossible" Stacey said.

"I can't do that move without face-planting" Jacey said.

"And his face cannot take another nose job" Lacey said.

This made Jacey gasp in shock while Stacey nodded her head in agreement.

"Together, we can do anything" Addison smiled.

"As long as we work our asses off and not give up, we'll win this" I smiled.

Addison wrapped her arm around my shoulders while I wrapped my arm around her waist.

We both smiled at each other and snuggled closer to each others side, causing us to laugh.

Everyone either smiled or 'awed' at us.

"Awww, you two are so adorable" Bree gushed, wrapping her arm around Bonzo's waist.

Addison and I laughed and shook our heads at her before pulling away from each other.

"Come on, guys. Let's go" Addison smiled.

Everyone nodded as we all walked onto the stage to begin practice.

The aliens might be great at nearly everything, but if there's one thing they should know is that we're not quitters.

We don't give up. We're gonna win, that's a promise.
