Chapter Twenty-Five | Viessa
I am so so sorry that we haven't posted in a while, but here's an update!!
"Wake up, sleepyhead!" Kaylessa teased, walking into Viessa's room early in the morning. Viessa noticed that Kaylessa was already showered and dressed.
"What?" Viessa asked groggily, throwing her blankets off the bed. "Why are you here?"
"Can I not be here?" Kaylessa asked with a mock of pity.
"No, you can!" Viessa replied, laughing as she got up.
"I can leave, you know," Kaylessa pretended to slam the door and walk out of the room.
Viessa grinned, "Why are you actually here?"
Kaylessa grinned back, "Since we're doing so much work, I thought we could have a sleepover at your house!"
"That would be amazing!" Viessa said as she stretched her arms.
"I know right! I have such good ideas!" Kaylessa said pridefully.
"Oh, sure," Viessa rolled her eyes.
"Well, let's get this sleepover started!" Kaylessa pumped a fist in the air.
Viessa gave Kaylessa a look, "Let me shower and change, and then we can start the party!"
"Fine, Miss. Sleepyhead," Kaylessa grumbled. "Wake up earlier next time!"
"Hey!" Viessa protested. "It's only 6! Do you expect me to wake up at 1?"
"Well, yeah," Kaylessa exclaimed.
"Kaylessa!" Viessa slapped her friend's arm, hard.
"What?" Kaylessa asked, acting all innocent.
"Nothing," Viessa sighed. "Let me go get ready, come back to my house at 8!"
"Are you trying to push me out of your room?" Kaylessa asked with a hand on her hip.
"Yes, push you out of my house actually. Now get out!" Viessa shoved Kaylessa out of the room and locked the door after her.
"Open up! Who takes 2 hours to get ready?" Viessa heard Kaylessa shout from outside.
"Never and I don't!" Viessa shouted back. Did her friend really think she was going to let her in? Well, now that Kaylessa was gone she could go back to her sleep.
. . .
"I'm back! It's 8!" Kaylessa grinned as Viessa let her in.
Viessa sighed as she looked at the time, it was exactly 8.
"What? Are you sad that I'm here on time?" Kaylessa asked, pretending to be hurt.
"Nevermind," Viessa sighed again. "Let's just invite all our friends now."
"Okay, okay!" Kaylessa jumped up and grabbed her imparter to hail their friends. One by one each of their friends leaped to Rosestone with a small bag with them.
"UGH! Are we here to do more investigating?" Raverie asked with a big sigh.
Kaylessa rolled her eyes, "We're here for a sleepover, stupid. Why else would I tell you to pack a bag?"
Raverie shrugged carelessly, setting her bag on the floor. "You might need a bag for investigating."
"Such an idiot!" Kieran muttered.
"What did you just say brother?" Raverie asked, her hands on her hips.
Kieran sighed, "Don't you know what a sleepover is?"
"Of course I do, dear brother!" Raverie glared at Kieran.
"Well, it doesn't look like it!" Aymon said, grinning.
"Shut up," Raverie muttered.
"Why should I?" Aymon asked. Raverie glared even harder as Kieran and Aymon high-fived.
"Everyone calm down!" Ashryn told them. Everyone calmed down after hearing Ashryn's soothing voice.
"What are we going to do?" Esarae asked.
"TRUTH OR DARE!" Aymon shouted.
"What's going on, in here?" Viessa's mom asked, peeking in the doorway.
"I just invited my friends for a sleepover!" Viessa told her mom.
Her mom looked at her, "I never heard you ask me for my permission."
Viessa looked away, "I'm old enough, do I have to ask you for everything."
"No, but I don't trust you. You aren't mature yet," her mom glared.
"Fine," Viessa muttered. "Can I have a sleepover with my friends?"
"Yes, you may!" her mom said, banging the door shut as she left the room.
"Your mom's weird," Raverie mumbled. Everyone nodded along looking through the doorway with suspicion.
"Can we please ignore her?" Viessa mumbled embarrassed. Her mom could be a jerk at times.
"Of course," Esarae told her gently. "Who's in for truth or dare?"
"I'M IN!" Aymon yelled.
"I'm in!" Raverie grinned.
"I'm in!" Kaylessa said right after.
"I'm in!" Kieran, Esarae, Viessa and Ashryn added.
Everyone looked at Keryn. "What?" he asked.
"Are you going to play or not?" Kieran asked him.
"I'm not!" Keryn said quickly.
"Why?"
"Because-" Keryn started but Esarae interrupted.
"You are going to play with us! End of conversation!"
Keryn glared at Esarae and mumbled a small, "Fine,"
"Okay, let's get started!" Kaylessa said.
"Who's going first?" Viessa asked.
"Not me!" Keryn said.
Kieran grinned, "I'll go first!"
"Okay!"
"Dare or dare, Kieran?" Aymon asked.
"Truth," Kieran answered immediately. Everyone knew Aymon had the worst dares.
"I asked you, dare or dare?" Aymon grinned innocently.
"I said, truth!" Kieran replied.
Aymon huffed, "Fine, I'll think of a good truth then!"
Kieran sighed in relief. Aymon suddenly grinned, "Who do you like, Kieran?"
Kieran looked away quickly, saying, "No one."
"Aww, come on!" Aymon said, pouting. "It has to be someone!"
"Aymon!" Kieran punched Aymon, though his face was red from embarrassment.
"Yeah, Aymon. Leave my little baby brother alone, he's too young to like someone anyway!" Raverie patted Kieran. Kieran looked gratefully at Raverie. Viessa felt her shoulders sag a little.
"I guess it's your turn next to ask someone," Aymon told Kieran sadly, sadly.
"Raverie?" Kieran asked.
"Yes, brother?" Raverie asked, raising her eyebrows.
"Truth or dare!" Kieran asked her.
"I'm no loser to choose truth, so dare!" Raverie grinned. Viessa was afraid of what Raverie would do to poor Kieran. Or maybe it would be the other way around.
"Fine loser. I dare you to take us all into the Neverseen base to spy without letting the Neverseen know!" Kieran looked at Raverie smugly.
"No way!" Raverie exclaimed.
"Then you're an even bigger loser and a scaredy cat!" Keryn grinned.
"I'm not even a loser, you are." Raverie shot back. "And fine, I'll prove you're the loser and that I'm actually not scared, dumbhead."
"I don't think that's smart," Kaylessa told her friend, trying not to get on her nerves.
"Why not?" Raverie asked, folding her arms. "We're the Neverswan, we can do this. Are you scared?"
"Of course I'm not scared!" Kaylessa exclaimed. "I'm just saying that it's not smart."
"Yeah," Viessa agreed.
"Fine, then I'll go spy on them myself." Raverie pulled out a leaping crystal.
"Wait," Kieran called. Everyone quickly linked hands and glittered off with Raverie.
. . .
"Where are we?" Esarae asked, looking around.
"The main Neverseen hideout," Kaylessa replied for Raverie.
"Oh, I forgot you were in the Neverseen before," Keryn muttered. "Can we talk telepathically instead of talking out loud?" Viessa nodded as Keryn made a telepathic connection between them.
Raverie, where are we going to spy? Kaylessa asked.
I don't know, but I'm not going near Ruy! Raverie told her.
Kaylessa grinned. Oh, come on! He likes you and he'll probably forgive you.
Raverie punched Kaylessa, Kaylessa ducked.
Calm down, you two! Ashryn told them.
Fine.
Wait, guys. I hear someone talking. Aymon said suddenly.
Everyone stood still and listened.
"Raverie isn't in the Neverseen anymore, trust me!" a voice, Ruy snapped.
"What are you going to do about it? Leave the Neverseen?" another voice, Gethen asked.
"Maybe," Ruy mumbled.
"Who says you're allowed to leave?" Gethen snapped.
"I do!" Ruy sighed. "I'm old enough to make my own choices!"
Gethen snapped. "Oh, you're still a baby making wrong choices."
"Whatever," Ruy said. Gethen and Ruy walked towards them.
What do we do now? Ashryn asked.
Run! Raverie commanded and everyone ran quickly.
"Who was that?" Ruy asked.
"There was more than one person," Gethen exclaimed. Ruy and Gethen chased them through the dark Neverseen base.
