After Flare left Viessa didn't know what to do. Should she tell the Vackers? Would they think she was the one who killed Alden? How would Fitz and Biana react?
Viessa decided not to lie and just tell the Vackers the truth. Viessa carefully walked over the body and ran all the way to their house. Biana was waiting there for her with a bright smile on her face.
"Hey Essa! Come in," she greeted, giggling.
Viessa couldn't reply, she felt so bad for Biana that tears started pouring out of her eyes. She ripped the mask she was wearing off her face and looked anywhere but Biana.
"Viessa, what's wrong?" Biana asked, slowly.
Viessa could only open her mouth, no words came out.
Biana stood still, "What's wrong? Please tell me Viessa, please."
"I-can't-say-it-out-loud," Viessa said slowly, choking out words.
"Then show me," Biana whispered quietly, wrapping her arms around Viessa. "It's going to be okay, no matter what,"
"No, it's not going to be okay," Viessa whispered back. She wiped her tears, she had to be strong or else Biana would break.
Viessa took slow steps toward Alden's dead body and Biana followed her.
"Where are we going?" she asked, her smile was completely wiped off her face.
Viessa couldn't reply, she started walking even slower. This couldn't be happening to the Vackers but it was. After a long time of walking they neared the dead body.
"We-we-are-here," Viessa pointed to the dead body with a shaky finger.
Biana gasped, "Who-is-that?"
Viessa couldn't say anything so Biana just stepped closer and took a look at the face for herself. Biana screamed, it was the loudest scream Viessa ever heard from someone. Right after the scream Biana broke down into a huge sobbing mess and all Viessa could do was hug her tight.
After a while Biana calmed down a bit. "Fitz, mom," she whispered. Viessa nodded, she knew Biana wouldn't be fine but she had to go get Fitz and Della.
"Stay here," Viessa told Biana and sprinted to go get Fitz and Della. She entered the house and screamed for Fitz and Della to come.
"What?" Della and Fitz immediately rushed to her side.
"Where's Biana?" Fitz asked her suspiciously.
Viessa knew she couldn't talk so she motioned them to follow. This time she walked quickly, knowing they would want to know the information as soon as possible.
Once Della had found out that her husband was dead, she just hugged Biana tight and sobbed. Fitz on the other hand, kicked every little twig and branch he saw. Viessa knew they wouldn't talk to her for a long while and so she decided to let them grieve and left back to Rosetone.
At Rosestone Viessa just fell onto her bed and fell into a deep dreamless sleep.
. . .
Viessa woke up and immediately her mind went to Alden. She shuddered thinking about his dead body. It looked even worse with all the blood and the dagger in his gut.
She picked up her imparter and hailed Mr. Forkle, waiting for him to answer.
"We have to meet now, I have important news," Viessa said right away.
"Ok, we'll meet at the Foxfire now and I'll bring the collective with me, as well as the group," Mr. Forkle told her, ending the hail.
Viessa quickly put on her mask and leaped over to Foxfire. Everyone was already there waiting for her except Fitz and Biana.
"What's the big news?" they all asked her.
"So....you can tell Biana and Fitz aren't here right now and so—" Viessa started but Sophie interrupted.
"Can you just get to the point?" Sophie asked her glaring.
"Sophie, just let her speak," Linh said to Sophie.
"Fine," Sophie said. "Continue, Essa,"
Viessa ignored them and just went on. "Alden-he-he-died," Viessa choked up on words again.
"He what?" everyone gasped.
"Alden died," Viessa whispered again, sadness drowning her.
Everyone including the collective stood there in shock. After a few seconds their shock turned to anger. And after their anger was gone it was replaced by guilt. And finally sadness. Everyone dealt with their dassness in different ways.
"Biana and Fitz, they must be-" Linh stopped, tears dropped down her face.
"We have to go check on them," Squall said right after.
They immediately all got up, linked hands and lept to the Vackers. Biana, Fitz and Della were clinging on to each other inside the house. Their eyes looked dark, red and puffy from all the crying. Keefe, Dex, Sophie, Linh and Tam ran over to them knowing they needed the most support they could get. Viessa just walked over to Biana and hugged her as tight as she could. All of Biana's and Fitz's friends joined the hug. Even Tam did. What a surprise that was!
. . .
It had been a while since they lept over to the Vackers. Biana, Fitz and Della suddenly all turned very angry.
"What's wrong?" Viessa had to ask them. Fitz's reply was just kicking the nearest chair. Biana just glared. Della quietly started talking.
"The Neverseen, they were probably the ones who killed my husband," Della pounded her hand on the table. Viessa had never seen Della this angry before.
"That is probably true," the rest of them agreed. Keefe just looked at the ground guiltily.
"It's not your fault, Keefe," Sophie reassured Keefe, wrapping him in a hug. "It's the Neverseen's. In fact, let's go storm Alluveterre and find a Neverseen member. That way we can find out if they did kill Alden." There were some whimpers at the mention of Alden.
"Miss. Foster, that's a great idea, we're going," Mr. Forkle told them.
Keefe nodded slowly but by the look on his face he still felt guilty. And it was final, they were going to Alluveterre to find a Neverseen member.
