Chapter 3: You Asked For It
After a month of intensely searching, you found a great apartment close to work to move into. You also lost the extra weight you'd gained, according to the numbers, but when you looked in the mirror it didn't seem like it.
No matter what weight you were at, you never were satisfied with your body. It looked like you became bigger rather than smaller. You knew your mind was playing tricks on you, but it was hard to ignore the reflection.
Today was a bad day, you were specially self-conscious. Even if you supposedly were wearing clothes that were flattering on you. It's like you knew it by heart, but couldn't appreciate it yourself.
You didn't go another day without your mask of make-up since you bumped into Jimin. Not even your uncle saw you without it once after the day you arrived in Seoul.
It was evening when you awaited for your uncle at the company once more. Most people had gone home already, so you were glad the cafeteria in this floor was virtually empty.
Most rooms were offices, so you had nowhere else to wait. You felt awkward sitting at a table with no food in front of you. While the few people around you were having dinner, probably having to work late hours.
You heard a familiar voice call your name and your blood ran cold. Looking up you met eyes with Jimin, who was smiling widely at you. You tried to hold back from fanning yourself, this man.
Instead you instantly wrapped your arms around yourself, holding onto your biceps. You hated how they looked with short sleeves. Jimin thought it was cute, were you shy? He didn't know better.
"For a moment I wasn't sure if it was you" he commented still smiling as he held his tray of food.
Last time you looked like an absolute mess. It was unfortunate he'd had to see that, you lamented. He stared into your eyes for longer than you were comfortable with and then pointed at the chair in front of you.
"Can I sit with you? Do you want some dinner? I'll get you whatever you like" he offered sweetly, but you had already had the little you allowed yourself today.
"I'm just waiting for my uncle, I'm not eating here" you said awkwardly and he nodded.
Jimin went to take a seat and you jumped up from your chair. Quickly holding your hands to the hem of your dress. Please don't look at my thighs, you mentally pleaded.
"Oh, I thought you could join me while I ate. We can keep each other company while your uncle finishes his work" Jimin said with knitted eyebrows and a slight pout on his lips.
He was too adorable as he looked up at you, you hesitated. You really didn't want to make things worse, but he almost looked sad and he was all alone.
You sighed and sat back down. Maybe if you kept your mouth shut and only said the bare minimum, it wouldn't be too bad.
Jimin smiled widely once more when you decided to stay. You looked gorgeous today, you wore a lovely short dress with a belt on your waist and a full face of make up. He wondered where you were going with this elaborate look.
You almost were like a different person as you highlighted your features. They made your cheekbones sharp, your eyes impossibly bigger and your lips extremely kissable.
He absent-mindedly bit onto his bottom lip looking at them and you swallowed self-consciously. What was going through his head? Why was his whole demeanor so seductive?
He is only eating, you reasoned with yourself. His elbow propped up, holding his cheek as he leaned forward slightly to be closer to you. A cheeky side-smile plastered to his face.
"How are you adapting to Seoul? I haven't seen you around here lately"
He paid attention to that? You were taken aback. That was very thoughtful of him, that he even bothered to remember you to begin with. Specially after having talked to you for a couple minutes weeks ago.
"I actually moved into my new place a couple days ago, already found the local gym and a nice grocery store that seems to have great produce" you commented rubbing your arm nervously.
"That's great! I'm so glad you're settling in well" he nodded before taking the next bite.
"I could walk you home one day, so you can give me a tour around it" he smirked and looked at you intently until you looked away feeling flustered.
"You play too much, Mr. Park" you blurted out and instantly regretted it. He was messing with you and you couldn't help your reaction. He wasn't all cutesy right now and your head wasn't thinking Jiminie.
"Mr. Park" he repeated softly with a light chuckle and brought his eyes down to his chopsticks. Moving them around the rim of the bowl, he smiled to himself. He liked the sound of that.
"I believe I've been rude, please forgive me. Is it noona then?" he asked looking back at you with his playful half-lidded gaze and sexy smile. He had somehow missed you never used honorifics that indicated you thought he was older.
"It's fine, it's understandable. How would you know?" you said with a little smirk getting carried away for a second there.
Jimin noticed how your expression changed and giggled nervously. He pressed his lips together and looked at his food unable to respond to the small provocation.
At times it seemed you were flirting back, but then it was like you would rather walk away from him. You were so elusive, but you didn't back away from his advances despite getting shy at times. He liked that.
He really wanted to know more about you, he was intrigued. Most girls were giggly and touchy around him, he was tired of that kind of attention. It was boring, he didn't feel like he could seriously talk to them when they were so busy pretending.
You seemed to be more genuine around him already and he felt comfortable. Your sudden comebacks were original and amusing. It was you being yourself and he respected that you didn't hold back intimidated like most.
It's not that he thought too much of himself, but he knew all to well the reaction he could get from people when he messed with them. Women got nervous around him, most couldn't handle it. It got old fast.
In addition to your unapologetic demeanor, he couldn't help but feel attracted to the way you looked. Women in the industry all had to look picture perfect, underweight in most cases. Like delicate dolls, but capable of pulling off sexy as well.
The profile for idols was kind of a carbon copy for everyone. Not that him or his bandmates ever looked at fellow coworkers like that. They were all aware of your schedules and various restrictions when it came to dating.
"I should get going, my uncle is done" you commented after looking at the notification that came in your phone and he pouted.
"Always ditching me for him, I see how it is" Jimin pretended to be offended just to see how you'd react. You just looked at him questioningly.
"I usually get out of work at 7 these days, if you'd ever rather wait for me instead" he teased you, pressing his lips in a line and raising his eyebrows expecting your witty answer.
You just scoffed and got up, he couldn't be serious. He needed to stop with the shameless flirting. It felt nice, you had to admit, but it was ultimately just a game to him.
Just Park Jimin being Park Jimin.
He saw you walk away in disbelief, that's something he wasn't expecting. He chuckled entertained and walked after you.
"Come on, you were the one who suggested Lotte first" he said laughing softly as he caught up with you. You chuckled softly and smiled amused. Jimin beamed happy about your reaction.
You stood still for a second and looked at him unimpressed. "Sure, I get out of work at 5. You can come pick me up on the next full moon. See you" you replied mockingly, rolling your eyes. He smirked and let you go satisfied.
He checked the calendar on his phone and searched for the next full moon. Looks like he was going to leave early that day. It gave him enough time to figure out how and where to meet you.
