Chapter - 7 - I Like The Way, You Kiss Me
Rudy POV:
I loved to tease her. And her blush-ah, it was simply intoxicating. Every subtle shade of pink that crept across her cheeks sent my heart racing.
Right now, Mom had sent Rai and me to pick up some dessert for the chillar party, and I relished the idea of having more time to torment her playfully. But she was avoiding me again, slipping into the car before I could catch up.
As I approached, Daksh intercepted me with a smirk. "Yaar, kuchh sharam kar le. Mere hi samne meri behen ko kiss kar diya? Tauba tauba! Abe bhaiya huun uska!"
I couldn't resist retorting, my lips curling into a smirk. "Achha? Aur tu jo meri princess pe lattu hai, maine kuch kaha kabhi?" His eyes widened in disbelief as I strode away, the exhilaration of the moment fueling my confidence.
When I reached the car, Rai was already settled in the back seat. I slid into the driver's seat and said, "I'm not your chauffeur here. Come to the front seat, Rai." She remained silent, her eyes fixed on the window. "I have my own methods to convince you, you know. Do you really want me to use those?"
With an indignant stomp of her foot, she reluctantly slid into the front. "Dusht manushya insaan kahika!" she murmured, barely loud enough for me to hear. But her attempts to dismiss me only made my heart race. Leaning closer, I whispered in her ear, "Manushya aur insaan ek hi matlab hai, koi ek word hi bolo."Her eyes widened in surprise, and she quickly turned away, staring out the window.
I started the car, letting the silence stretch between us. Eventually, I broke it. "I really have nothing to do with Sam. I swear, Rai! Trust me."
She turned to me, her gaze piercing and intense. For a moment, I saw a whirlwind of emotions swirling in her eyes-was it pain or perhaps something deeper? After a long pause, she broke eye contact, her voice trembling. "It's okay. Why are you saying this to me? I don't have anything to do with that. And if there's something between you two, what problem can I have? W-Who am I to have a p-problem with that? I-It's fine." Her voice cracked, and my heart sank. Was she crying? I needed to unravel the thoughts tangled in her mind.
When we arrived at the ice cream shop, we grabbed everyone's favorite flavors and made our way back home.
Suddenly, I blurted, "Don't feel uncomfortable about that kiss. It was just... I wanted to shut you up, that's all!"
She immediately responded, "I want to hear songs." It was clear she was trying to avoid the conversation, and I couldn't let that happen.
But when she turned on the radio, I was caught completely off guard by the song that blared through the speakers: "I Like the Way You Kiss Me." Rai froze, her eyes wide as saucers.
She quickly shut it off, her cheeks a deep crimson. I couldn't help but smirk; the sight of her flustered was too delightful to resist.
Once we reached home, she darted inside. I followed, my heart still racing. Mom was telling her, "Rai, yahi rukh jao beta. Waise bhi bohot raat ho gayi hai. Itni raat ko kaise jaane do?" If only my mother knew the truth about who Rai really is. But for now, I was just happy she would stay the night.
"Yeyy! Rai di, today we all will spend the night by chitchatting!" my younger sister chimed, oblivious to the tension brewing.
Just as Rai was about to go with her, our watchman approached. "Rai bitiya, tumhare sath koi milne aaya hai. Maine bohot mana kiya, par maan hi nahi raha. Kya main unhe bheju?"
"Kon hai, kaka?" she asked, her curiosity piqued."Ji bitiya, unhone bola unka naam Mohan hai."
My mind was reeling at the mention of that name. Who would come to see her at this hour? Whatever it was, it could wait until morning.
As I watched, Rai checked her phone, and suddenly, that guy named Mohan hugged her from behind, exclaiming, "What's up, buddy!" I felt a surge of anger. How could he just touch her like that? She smiled back at him, and that was the last straw.
"Fine. What about you? How did you know I was here? Oh, Kriti, right?" she continued, oblivious to my simmering rage.
"Yeah. By the way, let me tell you the reason for what I'm here. Mr. Rathore wants to meet you tomorrow evening to discuss something important about the deal. He said it's confidential, and you need to know."
"Oh! Okay, no problem! I'm free tomorrow, so it's fine for me. Tell him I'll meet him at 7 PM at Sizzling Club." Her voice was calm, but it set my blood boiling.
"Ok then. I'm leaving, you enjoy 😉" he said in a flirty tone and hugged her again. Waitt! Why is this guy hugging her after minutes to minutes? I don't know but I can't tolerate it.
I thought in mind "The thought of anyone else having your attention makes my blood boil!"
I leave from there and went to my room. Calm myself first. I can't tolerate this anymore I need to know the reason of her staying away from me, for rejecting me, everything. "You need a punishment darling. How can you let other men touch you that also Infront of me?"
Rai POV:
After my conversation with Mohan, I turned towards the familiar hallway leading to my room, a sanctuary I had claimed since childhood.
Suddenly, a force yanked me back, and I found myself pressed against the wall, my hands caught in a firm grip. It was Rudy.
"What are you doing?" My heart raced, confusion swirling in my mind. His gaze burned into mine, dark and intense, as his jaw tightened, revealing the turmoil within him.
"Who is he?" he groaned, his voice low and laced with an unmistakable edge.
"Who?" I replied, genuinely perplexed. I couldn't fathom who he was talking about.
"That shit like faced human who was being very fucking friendly with you?" His words were a growl, each syllable dripping with barely contained frustration.
"He has a name, Rudy! It's Moh-""Whatever his name is, I don't care!" he cut me off, his grip tightening around my wrist. "Why was he so touchy with you? And you let him!"
"Why does it bother you?" I challenged, though I already suspected the answer.
"Because I can't stand the thought of anyone else's hands on you if it's not mine!" His voice dropped to a cold, calm whisper, a stark contrast to the storm brewing behind his eyes.
"And why does that matter?" I began, but before I could finish, he growled, "Because I love you, damn it! I love you, Rai." His confession hung heavy between us, raw and desperate. "If I did something wrong that made you reject me, just tell me. I'll fix it. But please, don't pull away from me."
The vulnerability in his gaze pierced through the walls I had constructed around my heart. My resolve wavered as tears brimmed in my eyes. "I can't accept that, Rudy. You have someone waiting for you. I can't shatter someone else's heart for my own happiness. Please, try to forget me. It would be better for you."
His expression shifted to one of confusion, a storm of emotions swirling within those dark, pleading eyes. "Who is waiting for me, Rai?"
I hesitated, my heart aching at the truth I couldn't share. I gently freed myself from his grip, but as I turned to leave, he caught my hand, holding me in place. His eyes begged me to stay, to reconsider, but I knew I had no choice.
With a heavy heart, I pulled away, leaving him standing there, a silhouette of longing and desperation, as I walked away from the only man I had ever truly loved.
