Chapter 2
Annabeths POV
––––––––––––––––
It was cold in the small room that I was currently in. The smell of mold, dust and mothballs filled the air. The carpet was slightly damp and the mattress in the corner was uncomfortable with all the old springs ripping through the material.
Not very pleasant.
There were no windows, the room was lit by a small oil lamp, which was losing the last of its contents. It's only a matter of time before it's life runs out.
Just like mine.
The metal door made a seires of lock noises before it slowly opened, my captor leaned against the doorframe with a very smug face before walking up to me and caressing my face. I was too shocked to move, he laughed,
"Miss me?"

Percy POV
––––––
There were three footprint trails surrounding the clue, all leading in different directions. This is gonna be hard. I hesitantly chose a trail and ran beside it. Dead end. I went back and tried the other, same. Then I finally chose the last trail and followed it, not turning my eyes away.
Then of course I slammed head first in a tree.
I landed on my back and stared at the sky. "Father! You are no use at all!! Annabeths missing! The camp is in pieces and all you can do is watch?!? You pathetic people! You claim you have all this power but yet you do nothing, I dare you to take a step in our shoes right now I bet you wouldn't last a seco–"
The sky boomed, a lightning bolt hit a tree near me and rain began to downpour. Today the humans are getting a very unsuspected change in the weather.
A could hear Zeus's voice exploding through the woods as an Iris message appeared in the lake, "HOW DARE YOU?! HAVE YOU NO SHAME? YOU CANNOT SPEAK TO THE GODS LIKE THAT AND LIVE! WE ARE MORE POWERFUL THAN YOU CAN EVER IMAGI–"
He was cut off by Poseidon who entered the screen sitting next to his brother, "Leave him be Zeus, he's in a lot of shock and pain right now. Hes just a child, hes scared."
"May I have a word in this?!" I asked, both Gods went silent.
"I'm not a kid, I'm 19 for one, and for two if you are the so called powerful Gods, why are we doing all your battles alone?"
Still silence,
"Last I checked, we did most of the work killing the Titans and we stopped your Roman forms from fighting." I yelled angrily, "And what did you do? You first pushed us away, then you came back only to prop up your feet and watch!!"
Tears were flowing now but I didn't care, I wasnt done yet.
"Yes there were some fights that were mainly for us and not you, like when the tree began dying, it wasn't Olympus that was in danger, it was the camp. But the least you could have done was helped! I mean we're your children aren't we? I bet if we weren't as strong as we are, you would have left us to die!"
"Perseus, I didn't know you–" Poseidon started,
"Correct dad you didn't know me, and you still don't! You dont know nothing! If you did, you would know how to take care of your kids, but it's too late! Nearly everyone is dead! Tyson, Chiron, Nico! Mr D is gone and Annabeth is missing!! Whoever is after us is strong, probably stronger then all of you! They already broke in the camp once, they can do it again. We are defenseless, hardly any people against their army, and most of us can barley stand yet alone fight!"
I had to of hit a nerve by now, surprisingly Zues didn't say anything yet.
"It's over, they won." I cried, "They beat us, we're out of options."
"I need her back."
Without waiting for their reply I continued to follow the footprints, my tears blurring my vision. I watched the ripples in the lake grow smaller, as if they didn't care if they stayed or not. Dad was obviously not in his usual mood. Maybe the Gods will finally fix their mistakes once and for all.
Who am I kidding?

The tracks ended at some city that looked as if they were in the middle of rush hour. Cars sped by with such speed, I thought they were all being drove by the Gray Sisters!
I jerked my foot off the street as a car raced by. What is wrong with people these days?
Suddenly a nearby crash tore me from my thoughts, I looked to the side and saw piles of broken cars and smoke. There were more monsters there destroying everything. I still do not understand why the people are so afraid. The mist should be covering them up.
Maybe they see it as a major crash or some kind of extreme murder.
While pulling out riptide, I ran over to the three monsters and swung. The first lost his head, while the others stood dazed shocked at their new bloody wounds. Once they recollected their thoughts, they charged arms spread out as if they were trying to give a big hug. A bone crushing hug of course.
With my sword in hand I ducked, they both ran past me into a pole while I laughed. "Better luck next time." They growled at me like dogs, then they looped arms and tried again. This time they succeeded. One held me in a tight "hug" while the other punched me in the stomach repeatedly. I yelled and screamed in pain, then I remembered I was all alone. This time no one could help me.
Blood trickled down my chin, I'm such a fool going alone, I failed Annabeth, I failed you.
I was just closing my eyes when the two monsters dropped me. My body hit the ground with a sickening thump. I heard many pairs of feet rush towards me and arms lift me in the air. I barely heard a girls voice say, "Percy, stay with me."
Annabeth???
I blacked out.
