Quigley's P.O.V.

"Why is there sugar in the sugar bowl? I don't understand, why is it so important?" Y/n asked after we looked inside the sugar bowl. "That's exactly what I was thinking," I sighed. I put the top back on and set it on the small table. Then, I felt a small drop of water land on my head, and I looked up and saw gray clouds had rolled in above us and it started to rain. "Great, this is exactly what we need," I sighed.

"Quigley, it's gonna be fine, just calm down, we can head back after the storm," Y/n said gently placing a hand on my shoulder. "Alright, fine," I sighed sitting down next to her. There was a brief silence between us for a moment, but then I heard the sound of small sniffling, I looked over and I saw Y/n was crying into her hands. "Hey, what's wrong?" I asked.

"I don't know, this wasn't how things were supposed to go, if it wasn't for the Medusoid Mycelium waxing in the grotto, the Baudelaire's would be up here with us," she answered. I sat in front of her and took her hands in mine. "Hey, it's gonna be okay, we'll find them at the Last Safe Place," I said as I gently rubbed her back. She looked up at me and we locked eyes for a moment as our fingers interlocked.

"Quigley," she whispered. "Yes?" I whispered back. She leaned in slightly and she lightly pressed her forehead against mine. "I love you," Almost immediately, I crashed my lips onto hers and we shared a passionate kiss as the rain continued to pour around us. "I love you more than life itself," I said when we pulled apart. "What should do to pass the time?" she asked. I had an idea of what we could do. "Maybe we could sing, and that can make some of the clouds go away," I suggested. Y/n started smiling and I could tell that she was thinking the same thing. She started singing and soon I joined in with her...

After the song, I looked up at the sky and saw some of the clouds parted, and it wasn't raining as much anymore. "I think it worked," I smiled. "I think so too," she smiled. We walked out onto the small balcony as looked out at the ocean. "I bet this place used to be very nice before the fire, it's a lovely view from here," Y/n said. I looked at her and smiled. "Very Lovely Indeed," I said. She looked over at me, and we shared another passionate kiss.

When we pulled apart, I heard the sounds of birds off in the distance. I quickly ran to the small table and grabbed the sugar bowl, I knew that if weren't able to get to the Last Safe Place, then the sugar bowl still might be able to. "What are you doing?" Y/n asked as I lifted up the sugar bowl. "We may not be able to make it to the Last Safe Place, but the sugar bowl might," I answered. The birds started to get closer, and eventually, they reached us and one of them swooped down and took the sugar bowl from my hand and flew off with it.

"Why did you do that?" Y/n asked. I didn't answer her but I went back to the Volunteer Factual Dispatch and sent a message to Kit letting her know that we might not be able to make it to the Last Safe Place. But, I did mention that the sugar bowl was on its way via carrier crow. "Quigley! You gotta come see this!" Y/n yelled out. I was worried that it was something bad, but when I walked outside, I saw a Sustaining Self Sustaining Hot Air Mobile Home that Violet had mentioned that my siblings were on.

"I think Isadora and Duncan might be on there!" Y/n smiled.
