Quigley's P.O.V.

When Violet and I finally reached the top of Mount Fraught, we peeked over the edge to make sure it was okay for us to climb up, but when we peeked over the edge, we saw a man with hooks for hands guarding Sunny who was hiding in a birdcage. "It is Sunny, She's safe," Violet whispered. "how can we rescue her with that hook-handed man standing guard?" I asked. Sunny must've saw us peeking over the ledge because she babbled to him telling him that she was thirsty.

The man protested, but Sunny gave him innocent puppy dog eyes, and he walked away from the cage. Violet approached the cage while I kept an eye out for our enemies. "Duncan?" Sunny asked. "This is Quigley, his brother. He survived the fire, there's so much to tell you," Violet whispered. "Oh babylaire!" A voice called out. Violet and I quickly hid behind a large pile of rocks and we listened to the conversation that was taking place. We took an occasional peek, but it would only last for a few seconds before we went back into hiding.

When the coast was clear, Violet once again approached the cage while I kept an eye out. "Who were those terrible people?" Violet asked. "Arsonists," Sunny answered. "Are they the ones who burned down V.F.D. headquarters?" I asked. Sunny nodded slightly as Violet unlocked the cage. "Let's go, I can strap you to my shoulders and carry you down," Violet said. "No," Sunny babbled. I was shocked, Why doesn't Sunny want to get out of here and come with us? 

"You are, we came here to rescue you," Violet quietly protested. "Mata Hari," Sunny said to her sister. I had never heard of Mata Hari and I asked Violet who she was. "She's the Dutch courtesan who spied on Germany during World War One," Violet explained. Even though this would be a big risk, it was one that we had to take. "Sunny's saying she wants to stay here and spy, Those villain's were talking about making more orphans if Sunny could find out what they're planning, we can prevent this from happening to anyone else," I suggested.

"I'm not going to leave her behind, she's my baby sister," Violet protested looking back at her sister. Then, we heard the sound of the hooked handed man's voice get closer to the birdcage, we had to get going. "Violet he's coming back, we have to go," I whispered. "I can't leave you here, how are you gonna get out?" Violet asked her little sister. Sunny took a small ribbon from her hair and tied her hair up just like her older sister.

"Here, take my lock pick, you can use that toboggan to escape," Violet said to her sister handing her the lock pick through the small opening of the cage. "Violet!" I whisper shouted to her. Violet looked over and nodded, at me and she followed me and we carefully climbed back down the waterfall back to Y/n and Klaus.

"Did you find Sunny?" Klaus asked when we reached the ground. "She was the one who was sending the signal. She's safe, She knows who burned down the headquarters, a man with beard but no hair, and a woman with hair but no beard, Count Olaf was afraid of them," Violet explained to him. "And you left her?" Y/n asked. 

"They're planning something bad, they were talking about making more orphans. Sunny wanted to spy to find out more," Violet explained. "She's just a baby, she can't be a spy," Y/n said shaking her head in disbelief. Violet looked over at Y/n and shook her head. "She's not a baby anymore, she's gonna meet us down here as soon as she finds out anything. It was her idea, she volunteered,"

"Then I guess we have to trust her," Klaus sighed. "What did you guys find while you were down here?" I asked Y/n. "We found more V.F.D," Klaus and Y/n then showed us a message from someone under the name J.S. saying there was a gathering for V.F.D. somewhere called the Last Safe Place. But, the only problem was that we had no idea where the Last Safe Place was.

"I don't know where that is," Klaus said. "If the answer was in this library, then it's gone up in smoke," Violet said. "We'll keep an eye out for Sunny," I said. Violet walked over to the small burnt deck while Y/n and I were looking into each other's eyes for a moment. "Hey Y/n, after we rescue Sunny, there's something I need to talk to you about," I whispered into her ear.

"There's something I need to tell you too," she whispered back. "Hey, Y/n, I need you for something," Klaus called out. "Okay, I'm coming! I should go, I'll talk to you later," she said as she walked away towards where Klaus was.
