Sameer seeing her sleeping at her desk turned to her direction and reached near her slowly... sensing someone around, she stirs and slowly opened her eyes... she shocked seeing him watching her with some confused mixed emotions in his eyes, sitting so closely.... she stood with a jerk and all files dropped by her on the floor...

She stammered nervously, "I am so.. sorry... I mean.. sorry... I slept... voh..." she bent down to collect the scattered files all around with shivering hands...

With his constant intense stare, she swallowed all the words that were at her lips... Sameer didn't speak anything, remain seated there with some unknown trace of emotions in his eyes... she shuddered thinking might be her presentation has flaws... she mentally slapped herself for not checking it twice before sending it to him...

Sameer quietly turned back and rolled out his wheelchair going in his cabin... she sits back on her seat with a thud voice holding her head which was paining badly, feeling shivering on his cold reaction...

Pandit asked slowly to re-confirm, "you were in office whole night?"

Naina nodded her head, looking at him with damp eyes, "ya but what's the use... I prepare wrong presentation... see he is still angry with me... I again messed up with his meeting... I am totally useless..." she was almost on urge of crying... again feeling nausea, she stood and left for washroom...

Pandit rushed to his cabin and informed, "she was in office only whole night... we misunderstood her again..."

Sameer stopped his fingers suddenly working on his laptop, "did you tell her that meeting is scheduled for today morning..." he understood her reason for working whole night alone in office, after reading her morning mail mentioning the message, "attached presentation to check for today's meeting..."

Pandit stammered, "ya... I mean... I didn't mean that... you only told me to give all these files for preparing presentation... mujhe nahin pata tha voh itni seriously le legi aur sari raat office mein akele kaam karegi... she asked me, so I replied casually..." he felt bad that because of his one casual statement she suffered a lot...

Sameer banged his hand on table with a loud sound abrupt in the quiet office... he shouted, "get out..."

Naina came out from washroom, prepared coffee for him and about to knock on the door but stopped at doorstep itself listening him shouting... she assumed he must be angry on her presentation... Pandit came out seeing her standing outside and left from there feeling guilty for his doing unintentionally...

She composed herself, taking a deep breath, knocked at the door... she entered and keep the coffee mug on his table... she stood there for a while to ask for the presentation...

Sameer's gaze was still cold with no expressions... Naina turned around to go when she stopped with his stern voice, "stop...."

Sameer came over to her side with a frowned expression... his eyes were glued on her face... Naina lowered her head so that he cannot see the look on her face... she was feeling ashamed of not able to complete the presentation which can lead to a failure in meeting...

Sameer asked with a serious face, "why were you in office whole night... alone...?"

Naina lifted her face, looking at him surprisingly as she was not expecting him to get concerned for her... she was expecting him to enquire about the work given but seems he was worried for her not to be at home... she stood speechless...

Sameer frowned at her standing like a dumb, "don't you have any sense of responsibility to inform at home, if you want to stay out... are you the only one who is working in this company all alone... you have not yet completely recovered from surgery and so much careless... seems it's my mistake giving you permission to join back office... you better be stayed locked in room only... how could you be so careless about yourself?" he keeps scolding her seeing her pale face...

Her gaze become blurry feeling contented that someone was waiting for her at home, worried about her whereabout... this was the least she was expected from him... her own parents never bothered if she ever reached home late due to excessive workload in office before marriage... usually whenever she was late and reached home all other family members got slept without waiting to have dinner with her...

She bit her lower lips to control her raging emotions and burst into tears... she asked slowly, "have you waited for me...?"

Sameer got speechless, unable to express his feelings that how much worried he was initially... even though he had some doubt, but he waited for her to be back whole night... some corner of his heart not ready to believe at all that she can betrayed him... even seeing her in office he scolds himself to be so careless towards her... but he felt pleased that she again proves him wrong... he turned his face to other side avoiding her questioning gaze...

Both remain lost in their own world of thoughts and not ready to express their feelings... sudden ring of his phone breaks the silence in room prevailed... to avoid her question, Sameer quickly attend the phone and starts discussing with the person on other side... she remains stood in front of him but suddenly felt weak on her knees... she left from cabin and came back on her seat knowing he will not answer any of her question... he never does...

Though he avoids replying to her, but a soft smile placed on her face seeing his restlessness... his impulsive reaction and questioning her clarified how much concerned he was... he always disguised his concern with showing fake anger...

"agar bol denge ki meri chinta thi toh Mr Ego Maheshwari ghis nahin jayenge... par chaahe jitna bhi chhupa lo aapki najron mein saaf nazar aata hai ki shayad kal raat ek pal bhi nahin so paaye... pata nahin breakfast bhi kiya ki nahin... par puchhungi toh phir lamba sa lecture de denge... yeh college mein professor kyun nahin ban gaye jo sirf exams mein question puchhate hai par khud jawaab nahin dete... huh..."

Naina was engrossed in her thoughts when feels a soft grip on her shoulder and found Preeti standing there...

Preeti asked, "hey... what happened to you... looks like you were awake whole night..."

Naina smiled weakly, "nothing much... just completing my presentation... anyways, how are you... iss waqt yahaan kaise... kuchh kaam tha mujhse..."

Preeti smiled handing her a tiffin box, "actually my mom sends home-made sweets for me, so I thought to let you taste it... I called you but your mobile is also switched off... what happened to your phone..." she asked casually as she was trying her number since morning, but it went off...

Naina instantly realized that she switched off her mobile last night because of Sharad... that means... was he really worried for her? was he really waiting for her whole night? Is this the reason for him also to come office so early?

She smiled when Preeti jerked her, "oye madam... kahaan kho jaati hai achanak se... teri tabiyat toh theek hai na... kabhi chup ho jaati hai toh kabhi muskurane lagti hai... jhalli kahin ki..." she laughed poking her forehead in fun but soon realized her body was burning...

Preeti touched her cheek and neck repeatedly... her expression turned instantly getting worried about her, "Naina you have high fever... why are you not going back home... come I will drop you back... agar tabiyat theek nahin thi toh office kyun aayi... let me take permission from Mr Maheshwari to send you back home..."

Preeti moved to go to Sameer's cabin for permission but Naina hold her hand, "nahin Preeti, don't go... I will be fine soon, nothing much to worry... actually I was in office whole night, so it can be because of it only... he might be needing some help in presentation to correct it... this meeting is really important for him... and I was already on leave from last few weeks, can't afford to take anymore leaves... I will manage..." she purposely avoids asking for leave as they had heated argument a day before only when she requested him to sign on her leave application... though she was still oblivious of the reason for him to get so much angry for approving her leave when he himself forced her to stay back at home until she got completely recovered... but has no courage to ask him...

Preeti shouts back, "are you crazy... tu poori raat office mein akele kaam kar rahi thi... tera dimaag toh theek hai na.... look at yourself, kya haal bana rakha hai tu ne apna... sorry, I will not listen to you any more..." listening that Naina worked for whole night, Preeti was more adamant to send her back home for rest...

Listening voices from outside, Sameer came out from cabin with Pandit... Preeti turned to see him sitting there few steps away... though she is in HR department but have never get chance to meet him personally... she heard a lot about his temperament and cold behavior from other staff... he is so much introvert and hardly spoke with any of the staff member... a complete stranger for all....

Preeti scared with his fierce looks but compose herself and move ahead, "Good Morning Sir, my self Preeti Mehta from HR Department..." she introduce herself in a professional manner...

Sameer gazed to Naina who was looking anywhere, avoiding him... Preeti sensing the tensed atmosphere around said further, "sorry sir if we disturb you but as per our company policy, Naina had worked whole night and is still working... ideally, she should go back home and rest... our company policy doesn't allow overtime usually and also she has..."

Naina keep her hand on her shoulder and interrupt her to say further, "No sir, I am perfectly fine... it was important presentation, and I was unable to complete it on time, so it was completely my choice to stay back in office... if I feel like to go back home, I will manage by my own..." she said sternly as doesn't want any favors from him...

Preeti looked at her frustratedly thinking, "why the hell she is behaving like this... but I will also not support her to do this..." she gets more adamant seeing her bad condition which can get worst if she continues doing her work...

Sameer and Pandit were quietly looking both the girls sharing looks to each other... Sameer looked at her keenly realizing her face turned pale and she was looking extremely weak... his heart ached seeing her like this... he never wanted her to torture like this knowing her physical condition, but damage has already done unintentionally...

Preeti turned to Sameer back, "sir, if we allow it, this can impact her health and also as being in HR, I will not allow it if any employee work for more than expected hours... it's against our company policy too..."

She tried to give all possible lecture on HR policies non-stop whereas Sameer was least bothered to listen all this... he was just concerned about Naina...

On the other hand, Pandit was all lost in looking at Preeti madly, smiling like a fool... it's first time he was meeting her and impressed the way she was explaining policies to Sameer without any fear... how confident she is... and beautiful too... she gives the impression of like teekhi chutney served with his beloved Samosa...

Sameer suddenly moved fast passing by Preeti and pulled Naina towards him before she falls into ground.... Pandit and Preeti shocked following their gaze on Sameer's sudden move... Naina was getting unconscious and about to fall but saved by him...

Preeti and Pandit stunned and stood rooted there seeing Naina lying in Sameer's arm unconscious... no one react... Sameer shouts seeing them both standing dumb with shocked faces... "call Doctor..."

Preeti got panicked hearing his loud voice as she heard a lot about his anger and being short temper... it's her first interaction with him and things are so much weird... Naina lying in his arms and the worried look on his face, makes her more confused...

Preeti rushed to call Doctor appointed by their company for any emergency but Sameer stopped her and turned to looked at Pandit... he understood and called their family Doctor who operated her last time... who knows her medical history...

They bring Naina in his personal lounge and laid her on couch... Sameer touched her forehead which was burning like hell... Preeti got panicked seeing Sameer's anger and rushed to get the medical box from her department... they checked and confirmed temperature 102 degree...

Preeti starts keeping the cold puffs on her forehead but of no relieve in her condition... Sameer keep touching her forehead after very minute if temperature gets down... getting restless he himself starts keeping cold puffs on her forehead making Preeti so much confused...

Seeing CEO so much concerned and personally taking care of his assistant was a shock for her... Sameer has a different impression on his staff being cold and rude... contradict to what she had heard from others, she found him to be extremely soft and gentle towards Naina... but why?

Pandit and Preeti left out once Doctor arrived leaving Sameer with her... after a thorough check-up, Doctor prescribed medicine and said, "Mr Maheshwari, this is not a good sign for her in this condition... she had just gone through a major surgery and she is pregnant also... she has not yet recovered and still exerting herself so much... you should take care of her otherwise..." Doctor left assuring she will be fine soon, but she needed good rest...

Sameer nodded his head agreeing with him and feel guilty for putting her in this condition... he agreed that he himself send so many files in anger but never expected her to take work so seriously and put herself in this condition... unintentionally Pandit told her about meeting to be happened very next day which gets worsen the situation...

Sameer remain seated with her as after giving injection her temperature started getting reduced, but she was still unconscious... he asked all to leave them alone to avoid any disturbance for her...

Preeti left for her department though she wants to stay with her but Pandit assured her that they will call if needed... she feels hesitated to leave her alone with two men around as doesn't know the kind of relation they are sharing.... but can't go against Sameer's order...

Sameer was all lost in seeing her reprimand himself, "I should have searched her last night itself... why am I so stubborn with her... she always proves me wrong... itani galtiyaan ki hai ki shayad ab maafi bhi maangane ka haq kho chuka hai... but it's enough... now I will not let her suffer any more... she doesn't deserve this torture at all... apne se dur karna chahta tha par ab aur takleef nahin de sakta..."

A tear dropped on his cheeks seeing her pale weak face... he strokes her hair lovingly with his fingers fixing his eyes on her face, "please wake up... I can't see you like this... I am sorry Naina..."

Mein Galat Nahin Hoon,

Par Galat Hone Ki Wajah Ban Gaya Hoon...

Kaise Rone De Sakta Hoon mein uss Pyaar ko,

Jise Maine Khud Ro Ro Kar Maanga Ho...

Pandit standing outside getting impatient and feel guilty of all this misunderstanding happened... because of his just one mistake they both are suffering... he wiped his tears and picked up his mobile which was ringing continuously... he shocked to hear the person on other side...

Pandit didn't knock the door but directly pushed the door of lounge open... his rude action caught the attention of Sameer, frowned slightly and sighed... Pandit said instantly, "we found her..."

Sameer's hand stopped abruptly while caressing her head and his face was expressionless... Sameer instantly turned to see her still unconscious... he rolled his wheelchair towards Pandit and asked, "are you sure...?"

Pandit nodded his head agreeing, "humein abhi jaana hoga... sorry but have no other choice..."

Sameer though doesn't want to leave her in this condition alone but left with no other option too... he said, "fine... lets go... ask Preeti to be here with her and take care... if anything, she can call us immediately..."

Saying this he left from lounge leaving her alone... but to his dismay Naina was awaked when Pandit entered in lounge and heard everything... she remained her eyes closed and feel somehow hurt... she couldn't hold back her tear that streaming down her face...

"so finally, he found her love for whom he was so restless... why will he stay back for me when I am no one for him... good at least one of us will be happy... I know it hurt but I am still happy for him..." she warned herself to not to keep any expectations from him, since she would leave him soon... if required, before the contract period...

Soon Preeti entered and hugged her tightly seeing her awake and sitting completely lost in her thoughts... she gets the juice and her breakfast as instructed by Pandit before leave... she texted Pandit that Naina has awake and fine...

Preeti sits beside her seeing her quiet and asked, "Naina, is everything okay with you... I mean, I don't know but is strongly feel that you are hiding something from me... I know we might be not so close to each other but if ever you feel like just share your feelings with me... I will wait until you gets opened with me... but believe me I feel hurt seeing you in pain..."

Naina smiled seeing her so soft and gentle with her... who is at least asking for her wish... who really cares for her feelings and respect them...

Naina hold her hand and said, "Preeti, can I ask you to be with me forever... I don't know if I deserve your friendship or not but seriously after a long time, I really want to be with a person like you... I also want to be happy like you... I want to forget all my miseries and pains... just want to live my life fully..."

Preeti laughed and poked her palm on her forehead, "buddhu... khush hona seekhana nahin padta... bas apne dil ki suno aur khush raho... jaise mein rehti hun... aisa nahin ki mujhe koi dikkat ya pareshaani nahin, par mein unhein chhod kar aage badna janti hun... jab bhi koi baat mujhe takleef deti hai mein usey yaad hi nahin karti aur apna dil, dimaag kisi aur baat par laga leti hun... bas thodi der mein sab shaant ho jaata hai... kehte hai na ki har pareshaani ka hal nahin hota par usey apne par haawi nahin hone dena chahiye... jab koi solution na mile toh nayi raah dhundh leni chahiye..."

Naina looked her amazingly, "kya itna aasaan hota hai sab bhool jaana... matlab.. mein aisa kyun nahin kar paati... kyun beeti baatein mujhe aage badne nahin deti... mein kitna bhi khush hona chaahu par agle hi pal koi baat mujhe rula deti hai..."

Seeing her so upset, Preeti laughed to lighten her mood... keeping her hand around her shoulder she winked to her, "meri jaan... sab bhulne ka ek dum best ilaaj bhi hai mere paas... bilkul short-cut... ek ghunt andar aur saare dard baahar... uske baad sab achchha lagne lagta hai... jaise hum sapno ki duniya mein ho..."

Naina said shockingly, "hawww... tu drink karti hai Preeti... yeh toh kitni galat baat hai na... uncle aunty ko pata hai..."

Preeti laughed, "arey yaar.. mein tujhe koi piakkad lagti hun jo ek bottle haath mein lekar sadko par ghumati hun... yaar mein toh bas kabhi kabhi ek do drinks le leti hun ... ya toh koi party ho ya phir bohot upset hoti hun tab... I know it's bad but sometimes it works... ab iss age mein apni har problem ke liye Mummy papa ke paas toh nahin jaa sakti na, toh bas thoda dosto ke saath aur baaki thoda fun karke apna mood theek kar leti hoon.."

Seeing her still lost Preeti jerked her, "tu yeh sab chhod aur juice pi... tera ilaaj bas yahi hai.. samjhi... pata hai Doctor kitna gussa kar rahe the sab par... Sameer sir toh chup chap baithe the... shakal dekhni chahiye thi unki.. unhein dekh kar laga hi nahin ki yeh vahi sadu, akadu, aur gusse wale Mr Maheshwari hai jiske saamne kisi ki awaaz nahin nikalti... I mean agar office ke log dekh lete toh behosh hi ho jaate..." she laughed making fun of him...

Naina smiled hitting on her arm, "tu bhi na... chal chhod aur kaam par chale... meri wajah se tera bhi kitna time waste ho gaya na... mein bhi apni presentation review kar leti hoon ek baar phir..."

Preeti hold her hand to stop her going out, "jee nahin, tu kahin nahin jaayegi... aaj ke liye mera kaam sirf tera dhyaan rakhna hai... vaise toh mein yun bhi tera dhyaan rakhti par aaj mujhe officially kaha gaya hai ki tujhe ek minute bhi akela na chhodu... toh ma'am I am at your service for today..." she said bowing her head like a gentlelady dramatically, making her laugh whole-heartedly...

They spent some time together when Preeti asked, "vaise Naina, ek baat kahun... don't mind but I have seen Mr Maheshwari was extremely worried about you when you get unconscious... I mean he was so scared seeing you like this... seems you two are very close... pata hai ek ek minute mein check kar rahe the ki bukhaar gaya ki nahin... so funny na... but he was genuinely concerned for you... unka bas chalta toh tere fever ko bhi daant ke bhaga dete... khud apne haath se tere sar par patti rakhna... baar baar towel se tera chehra saaf karna, like jaise koi chhote baby ki care karta hai..." she kept telling her Sameer's reaction and worried look which she observed closely...

Naina smiled sarcastically, "is that so you feel like... sorry but it's not nothing like this yaar... it's just might be he is in guilt of overburdening me with work..."

She thinks in her mind, "agar aisa hota toh mujhe behosh chhod kar nahin jaate... voh pareshaan the kyunki legally I am his wife and his responsibility and moreover if anything happened to me, his family reputation will be on stake... aaj toh unhein apna khoya pyaar vaapas mila hai jiske liye unki betaabi dekhi hai maine... kitne pareshaan the par achchha hai ab sab theek ho jayega... Kanhaji, aaj unhein apne sachche pyaar se jaroor milwa dena... unko kabhi akelepan aur judaai ka dard na mile..."

Preeti seeing her lost again apologize, "sorry, mera matlab kuchh galat nahin tha... might be I have taken wrongly the whole situation... but just leave it... lets enjoy our me time..." she winked to her and they spent good gala time together... Naina feels contented to get a friend who is not so judgmental... even after seeing Naina with Sameer so close, Preeti didn't doubt on their relation... whatever was in her mind, she said straight forwardly rather than gossiping like others... she is honest and trust worthy... 

Few Words for my friends...

I know its too hard to see him so rude but that's his character which will change slowly... he loves her but can't confess.. she doesn't love him at all... donon saath toh hai par alag alag raah par... ek dusre ki khushiyaan chahte hai par yeh bhi nahin pata ki asli khushi hai kya... ek ko pyaar toh hai par jatana nahin aata 😊 aur dusre ko apni feelings ka ehsaas hi nahin 🤔..

Par jhaan pyaar sachcha hai toh dheere hi sahi par dil mein apni jagah bana hi lega aur phir Sameer aur Naina ko Samaina toh banana hi hai 💕.. aaj nahin toh kal... so have little more patience... 😜 so many twists and turns are on the way... unfolding their pasts and resolve mysteries... 

I really worked so hard to portray his rude side and Naina's extremely innocent side where she even doesn't know to whom she should trust... trying to write something different rather than showing love at first sight... hope you all appreciate my hard work...
