My destiny... my life
Naina's brows furrowed as she gazed at him, a storm of confusion brewing in her eyes. Why was he apologizing now? It wasn't his fault, after all, for the pain and heartbreak she had endured in her past. His words left her baffled, searching for meaning behind this unexpected gesture.
Sameer took a deep breath, his hands trembling ever so slightly. He fought to steady himself, his mind racing to find the right words. The weight of the moment pressed down on him, making it hard to gather his thoughts.
Finally, with a shaky but determined voice, he began to speak, "I don't know what to say and how... Actually, there's something I've been meaning to confess... I thought it wasn't necessary to bring it up before, but today it feels crucial. Everything I've done has had a profound impact on your life and altered its course completely."
The weight of his words hung heavily in the air, carrying a sense of urgency and deep remorse. He hoped that by sharing his truth, he could bring some clarity and healing to their tangled past. He continued further, "but believe me Naina, agar mujhe jara sa bhi ehsaas hota ki meri wajah se tum par ka beet rahi hai toh mein tumhein sab kuchh pehle hi bata deta... uss waqt mein khud itna uljha hua tha ki samajh nahin paaya ki tumhein kaise samjhau... shayad mere halaat, meri majburi tum uss waqt nahin samajh paati..."
Naina's mind raced, struggling to grasp the meaning behind his words. Just as she was about to ask, he continued, "You know that after my accident, Nanu had his first heart attack. Although it wasn't very serious at the time, it was a big concern considering his age. The doctor advised us to keep him calm and avoid any stress, as it could worsen his condition."
The gravity of his words settled in, adding another layer to the intricate web of emotions and events that had shaped their lives. Naina felt a pang of sorrow and empathy for the struggles they had faced.
"Hospital se discharge hokar mein hamesha ke liye London chala jaana chahta tha jahaan koi mujhe nahin jaanta tha... accident ke baad mujh mein jeene ki khwahish mar si gayi thi aur mein sabse dur jaana chahta tha lekin uss waqt Pandit aur Munna ne zid karke mujhe kuchh din ke liye rok liya aur mujhe bina Nanu ki condition bataye, Pandit mujhe lekar Shimla chala gaya... aur Munna yahaan Nanu ke saath raha unki care karne ke liye..."
A soft smile tugged on his lips, "aur vahaan mujhe pehli baar tum mili, meri dream girl, jo mere jeene ki wajah bani... uss din tumhein akele yun jungle mein dance karte dekha toh laga zindagi kitani khubsurat bhi ho sakti hai... chaha tumhein awaaz dekar rok loon, ek pal bhi tumhein apne se dur nahin jaane dena chahta tha... lekin tum mujhe bina dekhe mujhse dur chali gayi... tab ehsaas hua ki hamara saath shayad meri kismat mein hi nahin... mere accident ne achanak se meri zindagi mein sab kuchh badal diya tha aur mein uss waqt khud uss sach ko accept nahin kar paa raha tha ki shayad mein zindagi bhar ke liye ek wheelchair se bandh gaya hoon... aise mein tumhein apni zindagi ke saath bandhane ke baare mein toh mein soch bhi nahin sakta tha... Pandit toh tumhein dhundhna chahta tha lekin maine hi mana kar diya kyunki mein nahin chahta tha ki meri majburi ki wajah se tumhari zindagi bhi kahin bojh na ban jaaye..."
Sameer had mentioned this to her once during their stay at the ashram long ago, but now, as she processed his words, she felt profoundly touched. Realizing how deeply he loved her from the very first glimpse was overwhelming. It felt surreal that, without even truly knowing her, she had become the reason for his survival.
This moment held a powerful realization for Naina, intertwining their fates even further.
नज़र और नसीब के मिलने का इत्तेफ़ाक कुछ ऐसा है,
नज़र को पसंद हमेशा वही चीज़ आती है,
जो नसीब में नहीं होती।
Sameer placed a long, warm kiss on her forehead, his eyes locking deeply with hers. In that moment, the world seemed to fade away, leaving just the two of them, connected by an unspoken bond. The tenderness of his gesture spoke volumes, conveying a love that transcended words and time, "chaahe kismat ne humein kitna bhi dur kar diya tha lekin uss din maine faisla kar liya tha ki chaahe zindagi bhar tum mujhe milo ya nahin, meri zindagi mein tumhari jagah koi aur nahin le sakta... hum kitne bhi dur ek dusre se anjaan rahe, lekin tumhara khayal, tumhari yeh gehri kaali aankhen, yeh muskaan mujhe hamesha hausla deti rahi zindagi se ladne ka... aur mein jeet bhi gaya..."
Naina smiled giving a quick peck on his lips, "kaash uss din maine aapno jungle mein dekha hota toh shayad hum pehle mil paate... sach kahun toh uss din na jaane kyun mein dil se bohot khush thi... koi khaas wajah nahin thi lekin dil ko ek alag sa hi sukoon mehsoos ho raha tha... isiliye akele sabse chhup kar jungle mein yun dance karke mein apne aap ko bhi bhool jaana chahti thi... Shimla ki unn vadiyon mein kho jaana chahti thi... shayad unn vadiyon mein aapke paas hone ka ehsaas tha jo mujhe itani khushi de raha tha... kaash hum uss din miley hote..." she looked at him with tear filled eyes feeling a sudden urge of happiness and relief. She couldn't believe how lucky she was to have him in her life, who loved her so deeply.
Sameer smiled holding her hand in his, "shayad uss din bichhad kar dobara milna hamari kismat mein hi tha... isiliye toh mujhe iss baar bhi ummid thi ki tum mujhe mil hi jaaogi... yeh hide and seek ka khel lagta hai hamari love story ka part hai..." he embraced her tightly burying his face in her neck, remained silent for while seems like assuring that they will always be together now.
Sameer parted away from her slightly said, "Shimla se aane ke baad maine phir se business sambhala aur Nanu vaapas aashram chale gaye... tum toh jaanti hi ho jab se unhone Maheshwari mansion chhoda tha Maa ke saath voh kabhi vaapas uss ghar mein nahin aaye... maine bohot chaaha ki voh mere saath rahe lekin mein unke dil ka dard bhi samajhta tha... isiliye mein hi chala jaata tha unse milne lekin meri laakh koshishon ke baad bhi mera dard aur takleef unse chhupi nahin rah saki... aur tum toh jaanti ho ki meri takleef Nanu ke liye zindagi ka sabse bada dard tha, jiski wajah se voh bohot dukhi rehne lage aur unki tabiyat aur kharaab hone lagi... tab Doctor ne heart transplant ka suggestion diya..."
He chuckled softly, "tum toh jaanti ho na Nanu kaise hai... maine unhein manane ki bohot koshish ki lekin voh operation ke liye maan hi nahin rahe the... but lastly meri zid ke aage unhone apni ek shart rakhi jisase phir se ek baar meri zindagi badal gayi..." his expression shifted suddenly, a wave of nervousness washing over him.
Naina raised her brows, concern etched across her face as she saw him so tense. She could sense the weight of the moment and the emotions swirling within him, "aisa kya kaha Nanu ne jisase aapki zindagi hi badal gayi..." she was certain that Nanu would never intentionally hurt his beloved grandson. She felt confident that whatever he was up to, it might sound tough, but it was surely for his well-being. She squeezed his hand a little tighter, silently offering her support and understanding.
Sameer gaining some courage said, "unki shart thi ki voh operation tab hi karwayenge jab mein unse promise karoon ki mein life mein settle ho jaaunga... unhein darr tha ki agar operation mein unhein kuchh ho gaya toh mein iss poori duniya mein akela rah jaaunga... voh chahte the ki koi mera apna, mera life partner mere saath ho... aur unki iss zid ke aage mujhe jhukna pada..."
Naina, feeling a bit shy, suddenly asked her question, "toh isiliye aapne mujhse bina mile shaadi ke liye haan kar di... anjaane mein hi sahi lekin Nanu hi hamare milne ki wajah bane... jaane anjaane unka aashirwaad hi humein saath laaya..." her voice soft and uncertain. Sameer looked at her, surprised by her sudden inquiry, and the room grew quiet as they waited for the conversation to unfold.
Sameer nodded his head slowly, "ya you are right... lekin..." he paused, feeling incredibly nervous, unsure how to explain the blunders he had made. It wasn't the complete truth she was expecting to hear from him, and that realization made it even harder for him to continue. He took a deep breath, trying to gather the courage to speak, knowing that this moment could change everything between them.
Naina seeing him anxious asked, "relax... aap itna tensed kyun hai... I know shaadi achanak se hone ki wajah se aap upset the aur hamare beech kuchh bhi theek nahin tha, but it was not completely your fault... mere fake parents aur Rani Sahiba ki deal ke baare mein sun kar kisi ko bhi mujhpar shaq ho sakta tha..."
The tension in the room grew as he searched for the right words, and Naina's heart raced, filled with anticipation and concern for what he might reveal.
Sameer lowered his gaze and remained silent for a while and looked at her, "Naina, I know it sounds weird lekin uss waqt I was not having any other option... maine Nanu se waada toh kar diya taaki voh operation ke liye raazi ho jaaye lekin mein apni zindagi mein tumhare siva kisi aur ko aane nahin de sakta tha... bas isi tension mein tumhare meri zindagi mein aane se pehle mujhse ek gadbad ho gayi... in fact aaj sochun toh lagta hai ki voh haadsa hi hamare milne ki ek aur wajah bana, jo humein aur najdeek le aaya..." he took a deep breath, trying to gather the courage to speak, knowing that this moment could change everything between them
Flashback
Upon returning from the ashram, Sameer shared his troubles with his best friends. Pandit, who had been there with him, had witnessed firsthand how Nanu had convinced him. Meanwhile, Munna was in London attending a conference, but as always, they made sure to share and discuss everything with each other daily.
Their friendship, despite the distance, remained strong and supportive, providing Sameer with the strength and understanding he needed during such a turbulent time.
Sameer, looking at his friend through the screen, took a deep breath and said, "It's been really tough. Nanu's health, my accident, everything just feels so devastating. I don't know how to handle it all... Munna, tu jaanta hai Nanu ki haalat din ba din kharaab ho rahi hai... unka operation jitni jaldi ho jaaye unke liye theek rahega... Nanu aur tum donon ke alawa meri zindagi mein aur ki nahin jisey mein apna kah sakun..."
Pandit, with a concerned expression, nodded understandingly. Even from miles away, Munna's empathetic gaze provided a sense of comfort and solidarity. Their friendship, even across distances, remained a pillar of support for Sameer during these trying times.
Munna assured him, "tu chinta mat kar... maine US mein sabse best heart surgeon se Nanu ka case discuss kiya hai and he himself will conduct the surgery... he has a 100% success rate, so I am sure Nanu will be fine soon," Munna said, trying to sound confident and reassuring. Sameer and Pandit exchanged hopeful glances, their belief in Munna's optimism bolstering their spirits.
Sameer nodded his head, "I truly believe on you Munna aur shuru se unki medical history tujhe maloom hai so I knew ki tu ne jo bhi faisla liya hoga voh sahi hoga..." the support of his friends and their unwavering confidence in Nanu's recovery gave Sameer a renewed sense of hope. He knew that no matter how tough things got, they would face it together, just as they always had.
"lekin ab unki shart ka kya karun... I mean tumhein pata hai na ki mein apni dream girl ke alawa kisi aur ke baare mein soch bhi nahin sakta... vohi meri zindagi jeene ki wajah hai..." he said, his voice trailing off as he got lost in thought, recalling her charming face and lovely smile.
Pandit smacked him lightly on the head, a playful gesture to snap him out of his reverie. "Snap out of it, Romeo," he teased, a grin spreading across his face. Sameer chuckled, the tension easing slightly as the familiar camaraderie of their friendship brought a sense of normalcy back to the moment.
"bakwaas mat kar... ek toh humein apni dream girl dhundhane nahin deta... na uska naam pata hai, na thikana... aur saahab ko sapno mein aashiqui karne ki padi hai..." he was already so frustrated, having failed to extract any information about the girl from Sameer. The mystery surrounding her only added to his agitation. Despite his best efforts, Sameer had remained tight-lipped, leaving him with more questions than answers.
Munna also supports, "Pandit sahi kah raha hai yaar... bas tu ek baar humein uske baare mein kuchh thoda sa hint de de, baaki hum zameen aasmaan ek kare denge aur usey dhundh kar tere paas le aayenge... aakhir teri khushi bhi toh usi ke saath hai... aur ab toh Nanu ne kasam bhi de di hai, so it's right time to find her now..."
Sameer shook his head, looking down as he spoke softly, "Sorry yaar, lekin tumhein maloom hai mein kyun nahin bata raha... I am sorry, lekin iss baare mein mera faisla nahin badlega..."his voice was filled with a mix of regret and determination. He understood the weight of his decision and the impact on his life, but he stood firm in his resolve.
Pandit, clearly irritated by Sameer's stubbornness, let out a frustrated sigh, "you know, you're impossible sometimes," he said, shaking his head. "Why are you being so secretive? We're just trying to help... vaise bhi Nanu se tu ne settle hone ka waada kiya hai... aur apni dream girl ke baare mein tu batana nahin chahta... kisi aur ladki ko tu apnayega nahin... toh iss problem ka koi aur solution hai jisase tera sapna bhi na toote aur Nanu ki wish bhi poori ho jaaye..." Sameer could see the genuine concern in Pandit's eyes, but he knew he had his reasons for keeping things to himself.
Munna supports him, "he is right Sameer... Nanu aur hum sab sirf teri khushiyaan hi toh chahte hai... Nanu ki zindagi mein tere siva aur kaun hai aur unka bhi armaan hoga ki voh tujhe life mein aage badhte dekhe, teri bhi apni ek family ho, koi life partner ho... tera baby ho...."
Pandit laughed loudly, cutting him off mid-sentence, "Munna tu bhi na sapne dekhta rehta hai... yahaan partner ka pata nahin aur tujhe bachche ki padi hai... Nanu ki wish hai ki iski family bane lekin bina biwi ke bachchha kya department store se kharid kar laaye hum iss shahzaade ke liye... dulha bana nahin aur baap banane ki padi hai..." he chuckled, shaking his head in amusement.
Munna giving him an impossible look for blabbering rubbish said, "India mein nahin lekin single parent ka toh jaise fashion sa hi aa gaya hai... you know na ki I am right now in a conference on artificial insemination... aaj kal log yeh marriage, commitment mein nahin bandhna chahte lekin family lineage ke liye ya khud ki family ke naam par single parenting jaise trend sa ban gaya hai..."
Sameer and Pandit exchanged glances, their eyes filled with a mixture of hope and desperation. It was as if Munna, despite the physical distance, was the only remaining lifeline they had to hold onto. His presence, even through the screen, brought a sense of reassurance that they desperately needed.
Munna seeing them behaving strangely asked, "arey ab tum donon mujhe aise kyun ghoor rahe ho... aaj saara din issi topic par discussion hua hai toh bas maine aise hi bol diya... infact tumhein pata toh hai ki pichhle ek saal se mein isi research ka part hoon..."
Pandit smiled sheepishly looking at Sameer, "lekin Munna, teri baat mein dum toh hai... I mean jaise tu ne kaha Nanu bhi sirf Sameer ka apna pariwaar dekhna chahte hai aur India mein shaadi ka seedha matlab bachche se hi toh hota hai... lekin Sameer shaadi karna nahin chahta toh kyun na yeh bhi single parent ban jaaye... I mean khandaan ko vaaris bhi mil jayega aur Sameer ka sapna bhi nahin tutega... vaise bhi iski zid hai ki iski dream gril ke alawa yeh kisi aur se shaadi nahin karega..." the playful yet determined expression on his face brought a sense of hope to the group. Sameer couldn't help but feel a bit more optimistic, trusting in his friend's ingenuity.
Munna's brows furrowed in suspicion, and a worried expression crossed his face, "lekin tumhein lagta hai Nanu maanenge iss tarah se settle hone ke liye... maana unki soch kaafi modern hai lekin bachcha bina shaadi ke..."
Sameer, after giving it thorough thought, finally added his point, "I know it's hard to convince him but after all agar mein unhein unke vaaris se milwaunga toh voh maan hi jayenge na... unki khushi toh sirf mujhe khush dekhne mein hi hai na... toh agar mujhe koi problem nahin toh..."
Pandit and Munna exchanged glances, their concern evident, but they nodded in understanding. They knew that when Sameer was ready, he would share the full story, and until then, they would stand by him, offering their unwavering support.
Pandit exclaimed suddenly, "aur hum unhein abhi kyun batayenge... ek baar sab theek ho jaaye, unka operation ho jaaye toh bata denge... infact, hum unko diya waada tod thode hi rahe hai... lekin ek gadbad hai..." he paused for a moment looking to his friends, "bachche ke liye ek baap ke saath saath ek Maa bhi toh chahiye hogi... hum ladki kahaan se layenge..."
Pandit thinking deeply blurted, "Munna teri research mein aisa kuchh hai ki jisse ek aadmi akele hi bachcha paida kar le... bina kisi ladki ke..."
Sameer, irritated by the seemingly stupid question, smacked Pandit on the head, "seriously Pandit? tu khaane ke alawa aur kuchh dhang se nahin soch sakta na..." Pandit couldn't help but chuckle at the exchange, the tension easing slightly as their playful banter brought a sense of normalcy back to the situation.
Munna shaking his head in frustration scold him further, "tu bakwaas bandh karega apni... artificial insemination ka yeh process hum ek surrogate ke saath bhi plan kar sakte hai... samjha idiot..." he said looking towards Sameer for confirmation.
Sameer replied immediately, "ya, I think that's the best option... but just one request, ki jab tak baby nahin ho jaata, we will keep it completely secret... you know Mrs Maheshwai ko... agar unhein jara sa bhi shaq hua toh..." he went quiet as they all are aware that she was behind Sameer's accident three years back.
They didn't reveal her crime solely because of Nanu. They knew that if he found out, it would shatter him. Protecting him from the harsh truth was their top priority, even if it meant keeping a significant secret. The weight of their decision weighed heavily on them, but they believed it was the right choice to shield Nanu from the pain.
Pandit said making an irritating look, "tu chinta mat kar... unse kya poori duniya se iss sach ko chhupane ki jimmedari meri... infact voh toh Nanu ke kehne par aajkal tere liye ladkiyaan dhundhane mein busy hai... jab tak unhein koi ladki milegi hum sab plan kar chuke honge and then you can straight away reject the marriage proposals... ek baar baby ho jayega toh shaadi ka sawaal hi nahin rahega... vaise bhi India mein kunware baap ko koi apni ladki nahin dega..." he laughed hysterically, unable to contain his amusement. This outburst, however, earned him a good scolding from both of his friends.
Munna agreed to him, "toh theek hai, mein ek agency ko jaanta hoon and its all completely legal... I will arrange the best surrogate and start the procedure... bas tum donon kuchh dinon tak Mrs Maheshwari ko bewkoof banate raho... jo ladki voh dikhaye bas reject kar dena taaki unhein koi shaq na ho..."
Pandit laughed, picturing the surprised look on her face when she would finally learn the secret. The thought of her reaction amused him, and he couldn't help but share a mischievous grin with Sameer, "kitna maja aayega jab unhein pata chalega ki voh toh tere liye dulhan laane ki soch rahi hai, koi apni jaisi aur hum seedha vaaris le aayenge... Maheshwari Khandaan ka Vaaris... shakal dekhne laayak hogi unki... dekhna kaise unke tote kabutar sab udd jayenge... unki saari planning par paani nahin poora Samudra hi phir jayega..."
Sameer couldn't help but smile, feeling a little less burdened by his secrets. The bond they shared, filled with humor and understanding, was a constant source of strength for him. The light-hearted moment provided a much-needed break from the tension, reminding them of the strength of their friendship and their ability to find humor even in the most serious situations.
As they had decided, Munna quickly found the perfect agency capable of keeping everything secret throughout the procedure. The agency assured them that Sameer's name would remain concealed, understanding the potential scandal it could cause if anyone found out about their plans, given Sameer's prestigious and highly social family background.
Sameer also insisted he wouldn't meet the girl, determined to keep his name hidden and avoid any further connection with her. The decision was made to protect both him and his family's reputation, ensuring that their involvement remained undisclosed.
Their plan, though complex and challenging, seemed to be the best course of action to navigate the situation delicately.
Sameer continued to pretend in front of Vishakha that he was willing to get married, but in reality, he kept rejecting every proposal she brought. Each time, he found a subtle reason to decline, maintaining his facade while avoiding any commitments.
Vishakha, unaware of his true intentions, remained hopeful and determined to find the perfect match for him. Sameer, on the other hand, felt the growing weight of his deception but knew it was necessary to protect their plan and his family's reputation.
The delicate balance between maintaining appearances and pursuing their secretive strategy added another layer of complexity to his life.
Flashback ends...
Naina realized her heart was about to beat its way out of her chest. Never in her wildest dreams did she expect Sameer and his best friends to come up with such an alternative to resolve this critical matter in his life. The sheer audacity and creativity of their plan left her astonished, "aap logon ne Nanu se jhuth bola... unse itani badi baat chhupayi ki aapka baby hai... aur..." her thoughts went haywire, imagining that Sameer might have another child with another woman, a secret kept from everyone. She looked at him with puzzled expressions, unsure how to voice her swirling concerns. The uncertainty gnawed at her, and she struggled to find the words to ask the questions that plagued her mind.
Sameer noticed her confusion and the worry etched on her face. He knew he needed to address her concerns but was unsure where to begin. The tension between them grew as the weight of their secrets and misunderstandings threatened to overwhelm them.
Sameer leaned forward, giving her a quick peck on the lips, smiling to offer reassurance "don't worry Naina, tumhare aur Angel ke alaawa meri zindagi mein koi aur nahin hai... naa kal tha naa kabhi hoga... you are the only one in my life..."
Naina, still reeling from the shock, looked at Sameer with a mixture of confusion and concern, "toh ab aapka baby... aur uski Maa... I mean aapne Nanu ko bataya uss bachche ke baare mein..." she asked hesitantly, her voice trembling slightly.
Sameer could see the turmoil in her eyes and knew he needed to reassure her. He gently took her hands in his, looking deeply into her eyes. "Naina, I promise you, there's no other child and no other woman. It's complicated, but it's not what you're thinking. I need you to trust me".
Naina felt a sense of relief mixed with lingering uncertainty. She knew there was more to the story, but for now, she chose to believe in his assurance and the bond they shared.
Sameer added further to his story, "I know ki hamari plaaning full proof thi leking kismat ko kuchh aur hi manjoor tha... jaisa humne socha tha vaisa hua nahin... hamari planning ke according humne ek aisi ladki dhundhi thi jo khushi se hamare liye surrogacy karne ko ready bhi thi... usey bas paiso ki jarurat thi aur humein bachche ki... everything was so perfect lekin last moment mein sab gadbad ho gayi..."
"Kyunki hum kisi ko reveal nahin karna chahte the, isliye medically jo bhi kuchh karna tha pre-procedures, voh sab Munna ne sambhala... voh London mein tha lekin uske contacts perfect the... usne ek nursing home se contact kiya aur ek din ke liye unka OT rent kiya... though everything was legal, but we kept it extremely secretive... agar yeh baat jara sa bhi leak ho jaati toh media tak pahunch jaati and you know ki kitna bada scandal create ho jaata..."
"Sab kuchh well planned tha, lekin last moment pe Munna Pooja didi ki pregnancy issues mein busy ho gaya. Toh usne decide kiya ki voh same din aayega aur procedure complete karke turant wapas chala jayega. Aur kyunki meri identity totally hidden thi, isliye uss ladki se India mein sirf Pandit hi mila tha," Sameer explained, his voice filled with a mix of frustration and determination.
The complexities of their situation became clearer, and Naina listened intently, trying to piece together the puzzle.
"Uss din sab kuchh plan ke mutabiq hi tha but Pandit got stuck up in some personal issue and kyunki mein saamne nahin aana chahta tha isliye Munna India aaya aur seedha nursing home jaakar usne procedure handle kiya aur vahin se vaapas chala gaya... jab Pandit Nursing home pahuncha tab tak voh ladki vahaan se gaayab ho gayi thi... kyunki usase saari dealing Pandit ne ki thi toh uske alawa koi aur usko jaanta bhi nahin tha... infact Munna ne bhi usey vahaan pehli baar dekha tha..."
Naina's mind drifted back five years to when she discovered the heart-shocking truth that Sameer was looking for a girl. Connecting the dots, her eyes widened in shock. "Iska matlab aap aur Pandit bhai uss ladki ko dhundh rahe the jo aapke liye surrogate thi... usi ko dhundhne ke liye aap itna pareshaan the..." she asked, her voice trembling with a mix of disbelief and understanding..."
Sameer nodded slowly, his expression serious. "Haan, Naina. We were looking for the surrogate. It was a difficult and complicated situation, but we had to ensure everything was handled discreetly and safely. I didn't want to worry you or anyone else, so we kept it a secret."
Suddenly realizing her queries, it was now Sameer's turn to be shocked. "Haan... lekin tumhein kaise pata... I mean, humne toh tumhein kabhi uske baare mein nahin bataya..." he stammered, his mind racing to comprehend how she could possibly know.
Naina's eyes widened, realizing she had misread the situation. The guilt of assuming that the girl was Sameer's beloved girlfriend weighed heavily on her. She took a deep breath, trying to steady her emotions, "sorry Sameer... lekin kai baar maine aapko aur Pandit bhai ko uske baare mein baat karte sun liya tha... mujhe laga voh aapki girlfriend hai aur aap usey dhundh rahe hai... isliye shayad aap hamari shaadi ko bhi accept nahin kar pa rahe the aur hamesha usey dhundhane ke liye itane bechain rehte the..." she narrates how she heard when he left her in unconscious state in office to find that girl.
"I'm sorry, Sameer. I jumped to conclusions," she said softly, her voice filled with regret. "I shouldn't have assumed anything without knowing the full story."
Sameer, still processing his own shock, gave her a reassuring smile. "It's okay, Naina. We all make assumptions sometimes... lekin aisa kuchh nahin tha... mein toh kabhi usase mila bhi nahin tha... infact hum usey dhundh rahe the kyunki humein laga ki voh ladki procedure ke baad achanak kaise gaayab ho gayi... shayad voh humse aur paise chahti hogi ya phir kahin humein blackmail na karne lage..." he said gently, hoping to ease her guilt and confusion.
"Lekin jab voh humein mili, toh humein pata chala ki voh toh Nursing home pahunchi hi nahin thi uss din..." Sameer narrated, recounting how they eventually found the girl. Despite their initial disappointment and confusion, they decided to support her in settling into her new life.
Naina, still surprised and suspicious, asked, "Agar voh nahin pahunchi toh Munna bhaiya ne kis par procedure kiya tha... kya koi aur uss ladki ki jagah vahaan thi?"
Sameer's expression turned serious. "That's the thing, Naina. When we found out she never reached the nursing home, we realized there must have been a mix-up. Someone else must have taken her place. It was a chaotic day, and mistakes were made..."
Sameer smilingly cupped her face in his palms, leaning in to give her a soft peck on the lips. With a tender and emotional tone, he said, "hahaan uss din vahi ladki pahunchi thi jisey actually vahaan hona chahiye tha... jo ladki mere jeene ki wajah thi... jisne hamesha andhero mein mujhe roshani dikhayi... jiske pyaar ne hamesha mujhe sambhala... jiske haath mein meri kismat thi, hamara saath, hamari khushiyaan thi... aur voh thi tum... my destiny, my life... meri Naina..." his voice choked, revealing the biggest truth of their lives, a revelation that left both of them in shock.
Naina was speechless, her heart seemingly stopping as she heard his confession. She kept looking at his teary face and listening to his shaking voice, trying to process the weight of his words and the depth of his feelings.
The moment was filled with an overwhelming mix of emotions—love, surprise, and an unspoken understanding that their lives were forever intertwined.
