Extended Summary

Jett Xiong is a scoundrel, a peddler, and a fallen prince. The black sheep of his family after a bitter feud with his father leaves him cast out, he's had to do what he has to in order to survive. Living amongst the city's underbelly, he hasn't seen his family in years, until the tragic death of his younger sister brings him face to face with the past he was exiled from. And now he wants vengeance.

To her family, Danah Jackson is "Baby Girl," sheltered and protected from the family business and life outside of her school and home at all costs. In their eyes, she's too sweet and pure to be left unguarded, and Danah is tired of it. After the mysterious death of her older brother, everyone is keeping her in the dark and staying mum on the details. But Danah wants answers and will stop at nothing to get them. Even if it means facing the dangerous world she's been kept away from.

In a race against everything and everyone they know to avenge the deaths of their siblings, Jett and Danah collide and join forces trying to solve the riddle set before them. Little do they know, the truth is closer than they think.

In my Defense

I've been BEGGING for this YA Romeo Must Die idea since 2018 and then a few of y'all went Soulja Boy and said "You!" lol. Essentially it's inspired by the 2000 movie Romeo Must Die, but in an upper YA realm. Jett won't be in high school, but Danah is. He's Hmong-American and she's Black-American. I don't see Jett as a hero type, this feels darker, he's another morally grey teetering on the edge like Nash in TTG.

We feeling the idea? Yay or nay? Whitney can always move projects around if ya like the sound of this one. There's no real fan cast for Jett or Danah, I just wanted a pic for their aesthetic. I kinda picture Danah in the medium brown range but Lori is such a beaut to me, and Jackson used to be baby.
