Chapter 16
Before I start I'd like to say that I feel like this story isn't going anywhere. I feel like I wrote this because I love jily and wanted fluff, so this story will end soon and I will start a Jily AU, where I will have a plot, so it will take longer for it to actually happen. I believe this book will end like next chapter, so i am almost done. So yeah, the plot I had for this, I hated and it has no plot anymore.
Lily's P.O.V (I know this is a large gap but five months later)
I sigh looking into the mirror. I'm currently dressed in a knee length, strapless, sea foam colored dress. The wedding colors for Petunia's wedding are sea foam and coral. I have to agree that the colors do go well together, which is great for me cause not much goes well with my hair, yet sea foam definitely does.
Suddenly I feel a pair of strong, toned, arms go around me. "You, my dear Lily flower, look wonderful, absolutely amazing."
I twist around in his arms, smiling at him.
"However," He says cockily. "There is something missing."
"Oh yeah? What's that?" I ask, a hint of teasing in my voice.
"This." With one arm still on my waist he reaches into his pocket and pulls out a small box. He flicks it opened with his finger. Inside is a beautiful silver necklace with the letter J and a cluster of little emeralds along the top.
"Oh, James, it's beautiful." I lean up lightly kissing him on the cheek.
"Glad you like it. I found it in a muggle shop, and I thought, 'hey, why not?' and bought it."
I laugh. "Thanks, I really love it."
He grins at me, full of pride. "Come on, lets go, don't want to be late to your sisters wedding, now do we?"
"Well..."
"Lils."
"Fine, lets go."
James smiles grimly at me, knowing he's leading e to my death, and takes my hand. We quickly apperate to a hidden area near the building Petunia's wedding is at, and scurry over to the entrance. At the entrance, the dude standing at the door, quietly lets us in and we quickly find our spots.
"Isn't kind of rude that you aren't at least a brides maid."
I laugh silently. "No, she probably won't even come to my wedding, I really could careless."
James shrugs. "Still it's quiet odd."
"Yeah, well, according to my sister, I am the definition of odd."
"You're not odd, you're perfect."
"Now, don't you get all sappy on me Mr. Potter."
James laughs, grinning at me. "Sorry, but I must not tell lies."
I just roll my eyes, about to tell him he is such a dork, but that's when the music starts.
Petunia has three bride's maids and a maid of honor.
The girls are all wearing a knee length coral dress with one shoulder strap. Its flowy at the bottom, and very pretty. While the guys have a normal suit with a sea foam bowtie. Which I must agree on, because bowties are cool.
I sit there, silently watching as the priest says everything. Then comes the standardized vows, then the rings, and finally the kiss. Everyone, including James and me, stand up to applaud them as they leave.
During the reception, I had a lot more fun than I thought I would. James and I danced for a very long time, enjoying the feeling of just being together. I wish I had said yes to him way before. We could have had even more moments like this, where, even though we are surrounded by many people, it feels like it's just the two of us, and I love it.
Sometime after dinner, James leads me away from the crowd, out the doors, and up to the top of a small hill near the reception. We giggle almost the whole way up, even though no one has said anything.
When we finally reach the top, we both collapse, ending up with me laying on top of James' chest.
He grins at me, pushing the hair that fell into my face, behind my ear. I rest my head on his chest, and we lay there for what could have been seconds, or even hours.
"I wish we could stay in this moment forever." James whispers in my ear.
I sigh. "Me to, but sadly we have a life to attend to."
James lightly chuckles, moving his right hand, which was wrapped around my waist, to the small of my back, rubbing small circles there. "You know, we could do that someday."
"Do what?" I asked, a bit puzzled.
"Get married, have our own house. We could start a family, raise a couple kids, get a cat, send them off to Hogwarts. Have them hang out with Sirius and Marlean's kids. It'd be perfect."
I smile into his chest. "Sounds perfect."
"Then lets do it, what do ya say Lils. Will you marry me?"
I grin at him. "You know, most of the time when people asks someone to marry them, they have been dating for more that five, six months, and they usually have a ring.
He chuckles. "Yeah, well most people don't fall in love with someone they hate."
"I never said I hated you!"
"You also never said you were in love with me."
"I've said I loved you!" I protest quickly, for it is true.
"Yes, you have, but you've never said you were in love with me."
"Guess your right, and it's about time I did. James Charles Potter, I am totally and hopelessly in love with you." I tell him, emphasizing the totally and hopelessly part.
James' smile grows. "And I, my dear Lily flower, am totally and hopelessly in love with you as well." He repeats, emphasizing the same parts as I did.
I push my head up from his chest so that I can lean back down again to kiss him.
James responds immediately. He wraps his arms tightly around my waist, rolling over so that he's now on top of me. He leans into the kiss, and smile. I love kissing James. He's always so careful and soft, yet he doesn't touch me as if I'm about to break, yet he still holds me as if I'm his most prized possession.
What seems like seconds, but was definitely minuets by the way we were breathing, we slowly break apart. Our foreheads lean into each other, our breaths mixing. I feel James slowly lift his hand as he cresses my cheek softly.
"Merlin Lily, I love you more than anything."
"Even Quidditch?" I ask with a hint of humor in my voice.
He laughs softly. "Yes, Lils, even Quidditch." And with that, he pulls me in for another kiss.
So, not including any of the bolded words, this is a complete 1,000 words. On the nose. SO yeah, sadly next chapter is the last, but I will be starting a new Jily book. Although as I said at the beginning of this chapter I will publish the first chapter when It's all written so that I can make sure there is an actual plot and very few next to no plot holes.
