Ben stood standing, frozen in time. His ears rang with the words uttered moments ago by Eleanor. He had chosen her. As he watched Davi and Paxton kiss passionately he felt as though the world was shattering. "Hey!" Said Aneesa, dragging him out of his thoughts. "Come on Ben, let's dance!" She said. But Ben didn't want to dance. He wanted to scream, cry, hold Davi in his arms and treat her like she deserved. Instead he gripped Aneesa's waist and smiled, although in his eyes you could see the misery within. Aneesa bopped her head, laughing. Out of the corner of his eyes he saw the blurry shape of Paxton, holding Davi in his arms. Her smile was wider than he had ever seen. That hurt him the most.

Davi had hurt him so much and yet he couldn't help but wish for her back. Ben drew his head back lightly. Aneesa drew a thick strand of black hair behind her ear and gave a nervous smile, a flush blooming on her cheeks. Ben let a soft smile slip, what was he thinking? Aneesa was beautiful, kind, and she wouldn't break his heart like Davi. Regaining confidence, Aneesa leaned in for another kiss. As he kissed Aneesa, Ben felt his stomach dip.

He had almost forgotten the words Eleanor had said in a desperate attempt to reassure himself. Davi had really chosen him over Paxton, the hottest boy in, well, ever. He quickly pulled away from Aneesa. "Ben?" She asked, her face contorting, a soft expression of worry.

"Sorry, just tired." Ben said, giving his best tired smile. Aneesa slowly smiled. "Whenever you want to leave I can walk you home." She said. Ben released a breath. "Sure." He said, forcing as much enthusiasm as he could. He just had to get through the night. Through the walk home with Aneesa. Through the goodnight kiss. Through the walk into his empty home. Into his bedroom where he could be alone. Where he could break down.
