All my life I've been the shortest member of my family. And also the shortest number of my group of friends and my classmates. All through my life people have that I was much younger than my actual age. People would pick on me because I am smaller than them but I made myself into the class clown. Being the smallest of the group was never really a problem until it became time to go on dates and also get into clubs,

Every time I go anywhere where I have to prove my age they always think I have a fake ID and I don't belong.

When I reach my early twenties and was about to graduate from the University I finally broke down and decide to see the doctor because here I am about to go into the adult world and get a job and I still look like I'm a preteen.

I went to my general practitioner or primary care physician depending terms and usage. Of course they couldn't find anything long after doing many many many tests they tell me that all my blood work comes back normal.

So I decided to see a specialist after many referrals I finally found somebody who would take on my case

I made the appointment but then the day before I canceled it because I was too afraid a week later I called the doctor's office again and attempted to make another appointment but they were not available for at least six weeks.

In the meantime I graduated from University and it would have to start looking for a job. I put on my best business attire that I received for my graduation and applied for some jobs at some local hotels country clubs and amusement parks that we're not too far from my home.

My degree is in hotel Hospitality management. In college I did very well in school but me and me when it came to social situation I was the jokester the funny person. Most of my friends that I was immature and very childish but I just laughed it off.

On the day of my interview I decided to take a Lyft to the interview when I reach the reception office I had to convince the receptionist that I was here for an interview and I was not a Lost Child that made me quite angry and really not what you would want to be thinking about before going into an interview.

If I surprised they were two very pleasant young ladies along with the hotel manager going to do the interview all three were ladies they complimented me on my new business attire and also on my appearance it's both surprising

The interview lasted about 10 minutes I think it went quite well but I was nervous the entire time speaking with the three ladies they explain to me what I would be the night concierge. And it would be my responsibility to bring up whatever guest needed. Or the second position open was also the Night Door Man / answering the phones. Meaning that I would have to make sure any of the inventory coming in at night for the dining area in the restaurant or the buffet area at the hotel would have to come through me I told all three ladies that I would be happy with either position. They stated that the reason the position was open was because many people don't want to work from 10 p.m. to 10 a.m. Friday through Monday due to the fact it's the graveyard shift we will get paid an extra dollar an hour compared to the counterpart during the day shift and we only have to work 4 days a week instead of 5 but we do have to put in more hours per day. The job also does come with retirement benefits as well as insurance.

When I left the interview I thought for sure I didn't get the job they would definitely want somebody at their front desk more impressive than me. It definitely would want somebody more attractive. I went home and begin to start looking for other job interviews. To my surprise I did get a call back from the Resort Hotel they stated that they wanted me to work a third job they never even mentioned they have what they call is a kid's club where they have a miniature golf course along with a movie theater video game area design for the children of guests as well as a small breakfast area for the kids to eat breakfast lunch or dinner without their parents. The job would pay more but they thought I would be the perfect candidate to fit that position. I agreed to take this position because it came with the same benefits although it only paid $14.55 an hour compared to the night job paid $16 an hour. But I only had to work 8-hour shifts but Thursday through Monday.

On the day that I was supposed to my onboarding and be hired they told me I needed to be fitted for my uniform which was khaki shorts or pants along with a flowery shirt. They attempted to put an extra small on me but it didn't fit the way they wanted to. One of the HR managers message came up with an idea and pulled me aside. She stated that they do have a few more shirt smaller. They are actually boys extra large that they sell in the gift shop because some children want to wear a some more shirts as the employees was it bother me if they gave me a few of those she did say with a wink on the plus side they would be on the $8 a piece rather than $24 a piece to purchase. People make fun of me all the time because of my small stature but at least in this case it will pay off. I'm still nervous about the doctor's appointment but at least now that I have insurance I won't have to pay for the doctor's bill or at least not all of it
