Chapter 7
Percy
I couldn't get Annabeth out of my mind while I was sitting on the deck. She was just so perfect. She kissed me on the cheek, that had to mean something, right?
When I decided that I should start getting back 'home', I got up and started wearing my socks and shoes.
I gathered my things and began walking through the trees. But then I heard someone running, and I quickly went into defense mode.
But when I saw Annabeth's golden curls bouncing behind her beautiful face, I relaxed. She had tears running down her face with blood-shot eyes.
"Annabeth?" I asked, while she came closer into view.
"Percy!" She cried, and when she was close by, she stopped running and hugged me.
She was hugging me. I was in disbelief for a second, before hugging her back. Her hair smelled like lemons, and I loved it.
But then I felt something wet on my shoulder.
Annabeth was crying.
"Hey, Annabeth, it's okay. Cry it all out." I soothed, while hugging her tighter.
I could get used to this.
"P-Percy." She stuttered and continued crying.
"Hey, it's all right." I patted her back.
When she was done crying, she backed away, and noticed that she made my shoulder wet with tears.
"I'm so so-sorry, I-I did-didn't me-mean to." Annabeth wiped her eyes.
"Hey, it's okay. Can you tell me whats wrong?" I asked, sitting on the ground. Annabeth sat across from me.
"It started with my step mother Helen.." Annabeth continued, telling me the whole story from when she got home.
Speaking of going back, Gabe will really punish me when I get back home, but I would rather get punished by Gabe than leaving Annabeth here by herself.
Yea, that's right. Fuck you Gabe.
When Annabeth finished telling her story, I felt bad for her. It's not as bad as my situation, but it's pretty bad.
"Hey, it's alright. All step-parents are like that." I sighed.
"No, everyone has the perfect parents. While I'm stuck with a crappy family. For fuck's sake, my mother ditched me and my father!" Annabeth got up and yelled in frustration.
"Hey, nobody has perfect parents. I know how it feels to have a step-parent. It's hard, I know, but we just have to deal with it." I replied calmly. Little does she know that I'm abused.
"Helen just gets me so frustrated, and I just can't deal with her." Annabeth sighed and sat right back next to me.
"Yea, I know." I sighed.
"Oh gosh, it's almost sunset and you didn't go home yet! Sorry for wasting your time-" I stopped Annabeth by putting a finger on her lips.
"You never waste my time, Chase. If you need anything, tell me. I'm always free at school." I said, backing away my finger.
"What did I do to deserve you." Annabeth sighed and placed her head on my shoulder. I did the normal thing people would do and placed my hands over her shoulder.
"Hey, you will always have me. Whether you like it or not." I earned a laugh from Annabeth. Her eyelids started to close, so I stayed still as I saw her fall into slumber.
We were leaned up against my tree, so while Annabeth was falling asleep on my shoulder, I put my head next to hers. Annabeth was curled into my side, and she was comfortable. So was I. Soon, my eyelids began to close.
---Hi! I'm Fred the line break! Nice to meet all of you!---
I woke up to a screaming Annabeth.
"SPIDER!!! KILL IT!!!! GET IT AWAY FROM ME!" Annabeth was jumping around in the dark, since it was past six.
"HUh? What?" I rubbed my eyes, and got up.
"SPIDER! KILL IT!" Annabeth screeched, pointing at the harmless little black spooder.
I stomped on it with my foot, then raised an eyebrow at Annabeth. She relaxed, and was suddenly embarrassed.
"I just really hate-"
"Spiders." I finished for her.
It was dark, and I looked around the forest.
"We should be getting back home." I said.
"Yeah, we should." Annabeth sighed and took out her phone.
"What time is it?" I asked.
"6:49." Annabeth replied.
"Oh great," I muttered.
Annabeth looked guilty and when she opened her mouth to speak, I interrupted her.
"It's not your fault. It's okay." I smiled, and started walking out of the forest.
Annabeth was behind me, using her phone as a flashlight. When we made it out, we had different roads to go on.
"Well, cya at school Perce." Annabeth smiled, then walked to her house.
Damn it, no kiss on the cheek?
I walked to my 'house' and found all the other trucks gone.
Fuck
I can't let Gabe know I was gone. I went to my bedroom window, and started climbing up the tree. As I opened the window to get in, I jumped inside.
I sighed, and gently closed the window. I walked to open up the lights of my bed.
"Hey kid." Gabe growled, sitting on my bed.
I jumped from the surprise.
"So, where were you? At a party getting drunk? Without my permission?" Gabe snarled.
"No, I wasn't at a party. And I wouldn't get drunk because I would turn into a pig like you." I spat, but quickly regretted it. Rule 8: Never be rude to Gabe.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk. Can't follow the rules now can you?" Gabe got up and took me by the collar of my sweater. He dragged me downstairs to the living room, with beer bottles all over the floor, then pushed me on the ground, landing on three bottles.
"A friend gave me a new toy. Want to see it?" Gabe smirked and pulled out a taser out of his pocket.
Wait, a TASER!?!?! Is that even legal??
"Friends a cop. Plays poker with me," Gabe smirked, "Let's see if it works."
Gabe started ripping off my sweater and shirt, leaving me with a bare chest.
"This'll be fun.." Gabe whispered in my ear.
He plunged the taser right into my left abdomen. I felt as if I was being electrocuted. It was like the Greek god, Zeus, was striking me with his master bolt.
My body jiggled, while electricity ran through my veins.
Gabe took out the taser, then inspected it.
"I wonder what will happen if I place it on your heart." Gabe smirked.
Wait, what?! Now this is just murder.
I couldn't object when Gabe pressed the taser right on my heart. I gulped, and closed my eyes, tightly.
So this is how people feel when they are about to die?
I waited a few seconds, before Gabe turned on the taser. I felt my blood run cold, and that all I could feel is pain. My heart ached, and I felt like it was going to jump out of my body.
I couldn't see what was next, as they world went dark.
