After Percy dissapeared into the forest, I decided to go after him. Helen wouldn't mind if I was a bit late, right?

Percy continued to walk through the woods, with me close by. I tried to be stealthy, and so far, it was working.

When there was a little bit of a clearing, I noticed a shimmering lake.

Well this is some nice shit.

I hid behind a bush, watching Percy. No, I am not stalking him.

He took off his shoes and socks, and went down the deck. He sat down on the edge, and dangled his feet. He looked relaxed. When I was getting up to get a closer look, I accidentally stepped on a branch. Percy quickly napped his head back, and got a bit jumpy. Great job Annabeth. Well, there is no going back now.

I turned around, and walked towards Percy.

"So, this is where you go to escape life, huh?" I asked, walking down the deck. Percy relaxed, and looked out in the lake.

I took off my backpack and put it on the ground, then took off my shoes and socks. I walked down the deck, then sat right next to Percy. I dangled my legs off the edge, and looked down.

There was some fishes down there, and I smiled. Percy wasn't making eye contact, and kept looking out into the lake.

"Percy?" I asked, nudging his shoulders. He winced, and placed a hand on his shoulders.

"I didn't hit you that hard," I rolled my eyes, but then I felt guilty for hurting him. "Wait, did I?"

"It's fine, Annabeth." He grumbled and rubbed his shoulder.

"Look, I don't know what's your problem, but I need you to know that you have friends now. Don't have to be all emo and a loner." I rolled my eyes.

"Too dangerous." I heard him whisper, and I whipped my head to look at him carefully.

"We aren't going to hurt you." I tilted my head, a bit confused.

"No, but someone will hurt you." Percy looked at me.

"I'd like to see someone try." I scoffed.

Percy lightly chuckled. Damn that chuckle. Wait, what?

"Well, shouldn't you be home?" I asked, kicking my legs back and forth in the water.

"Yeah, but I'd rather be here than anywhere else." Percy sighed.

While kicking my leg in the water, I 'accidently' splashed Percy.

I laughed, and pointed at him. AT first he glared at me, but then started kicking his feet, splashing me.

"Oh no you didn't." I said, glaring at him.

"Oh yes I did." Percy snapped his fingers in a Z. (A/N: Persassy!)

Percy started kicking his feet more rapidly, and I covered my hands to my face, avoiding water to get in my eyes. He asked for it.

I kicked my legs as well, going faster than his were. We were both getting soaked, but I didn't mind.

But then Percy did something I will never forgive him for.

Percy picked me up and placed me on his shoulder.

"Put me down!" I laughed, punching his back.

"Nope. I'd advise for you to hold your breath!" Percy yelled and catapulted into the water.

I was pulled underwater, and I held my breath. I opened my eyes in the water. There wasn't chlorine or anything, so yes, I can open my eyes in the water.

I turned and found Percy with his eyes open to, staring deeply into mine.

I swam up to him, and placed my hand on his cheek. Percy grinned, but even underwater it was still so cute. Wait, what?

Then I slapped him. Hard. I went back up for air, and started laughing my butt off. I continued laughing as Percy got back up too, placing a hand on his cheek, glaring at me.

"That's what you get!" I laughed, and started swimming towards the deck.

"Oh no you don't." Percy took my two feet and dragged me closer to him.

"Let me go!" I laughed and clutched the legs of the deck with my two hands. But of course, Percy was stronger than me. I lost my grip, and was pulled towards Percy.

"No!" I yelled, laughing at the same time. When I was in front of Percy, he started splashing me. I splashed right back, laughing at his weird faces he was making while splashing at me.

We continued to have fun, and I was soaking wet when we finally got out of the lake. I layed down on the deck, trying to get dried by the warming sun.

"Thanks a lot, seaweed brain." I chuckled. While we were in the lake, splashing each other algae got into his ear and on his face. Thus, creating the nick name.

"Your welcome....Wise Girl!" Percy randomly said, pointing at me.

"That's a compliment." I shook my head, laughing at his stupidity.

"I'll think of something." Percy had a lop sided grin on him, and while he was soaked, the clothes tightened around his body frame. His hair was everywhere, sticking to his scalp. And those sea green eyes. Like I could get lost in them.

Damn those muscles. Damn those eyes. Damn that hair.

My mind kept saying the same thing, as I kept staring at him.

"Annabeth? I know I'm good-looking, but you don't have to stare." Percy wiggled his eyebrows, while I turned as red as a tomato.

Percy laid right next to me, staring into the clouds.

"Hey! That looks like a bunny." I laughed, pointing at a cloud.

"Hey, it does." Percy smiled.

"Oh, look that looks like...a cloud!" Percy pointed at a cloud.

"Seriously?" I laughed.

I got up when I was a bit dry and went to my backpack. I got my phone out and looked at the time.

5:24 p.m.

5:24 PM?!?!?! Helen is so going to kill me!

"Oh my god! I have to go!" I quickly put on my socks and shoes, and put on my backpack. Percy stood behind me, with his hands in his pockets.

"I had fun, Percy." I smiled.

"I can't believe I'm saying this but, I did too." Percy shook his head, lightly chuckling.

"See you at school. Oh and Percy?" I asked.

"Yea?" He looked at me.

"Try to open up with our friends." I raised an eyebrow at him.

"Fine." He sighed, then waved.

I walked up to him, and gave him a kiss on the cheek. Then I turned around and started walking.

"Bye Percy." I looked behind me one more time, and I saw Percy placing a hand on the cheek I just kissed him on, with disbelief.

I continued walking, chuckling at his reaction.

When I reached my house, I quietly creaked open the front door. Helen was sitting on the couch, watching The Kardashians. I sighed, and entered the house. I took off my shoes, and tried to act as normal as possible as I walked to the stairs.

"Get back here young lady." Helen said, turning off the TV.

Damn it.

"Yes, Helen?" I groaned and walked back to the living room.

"Where were you? And why the hell are you soaked? You're ruining my floor!" Helen yelled.

"I was with a friend. Then we played with the hose for fun." I quickly came up with the lie.

"Who?" Helen asked, raising an eyebrow.

Uh oh. I'm in real trouble now.

"A friend." I replied calmly.

"What friend, you idiot." Helen rolled her eyes.

"A nice boy named Percy." I said confidently.

Helen was about to reply, but I stopped her.

"I can have a friend whether it's a boy or a girl. You can't pick what friends I can be friends with!" I yelled.

"I am your mother! I can do whatever I want with you!" Helen fired back.

"No you're not! I never wanted you as a mother! I'd rather die than let you be my mother! I'd rather go with the lady who ditched me and my father than be with you!" I spat. And I don't regret any of the things that I said.

"Go to your room!" Helen yelled, standing up, pointing at the stairs.

"Like I'd be anywhere else!" I yelled, and stomped up the stairs.

I went into my room, and slammed the door as hard as I could.

She's just so frustrating! UGH!

I went onto my bed and threw my backpack at the door. I flopped onto my bed, and stuffed my face into my pillow.

Why is my life so complicated! The only good thing about all of this was the gang in school, and Percy!

Percy.

I could just leave the house again, and go back to the lake. I quickly changed into more comfortable clothes that weren't soaked. I opened my window, and jumped out.
